I was lucky enough to meet Mr. Clough when he came to our boys club just before he got the injury which ultimately ended his playing career, gave us young lads a good talking to and I've never forgotten it. What a man R.I.P. Mr.Clough.

Brilliant, brilliant manager but complete prick after the drink took hold, just like most alcoholics!! However his 2 European Cup wins were far better achievements at that time than Liverpool's 4 wins in 7 years as his club were only small compared to many others!

A genius who like Fergie was a solid working class fella who could compete at the highest level and still remember where he came from. He had his problems but if that's all people choose to see it's more a judgement on them.

Brian clough was old school manager, and only players he could control played for him This test was to see if he could control laws, and if he did not do what clough wanted, he would not played for forest Very unique old style manager Thats what football managers used to be, if they could not control you, you were not playing in there team, as what was the point? Todays footballers are champagne charlies who all think they are maradona. Brian clough was a very clever man to have used such things on players, as brian clough knows most footballers are not that smart, and he wanted to know if he could manage these players or not. If he could not get you to do what he wanted, you were not going to play for his team. Brian clough was proper old school manager, and he was far more smart then most around football and he knew it.

The real shame of it is that the Brian Clough school of management would maybe work in the modern day with the academy where the youngsters are still trying to establish themselves but never in the first team.

If clough never won European cup then still he wud be classed as the greatest because of his sheer entertainment on and off the teli.. True... he won 0 fa cups His last 12 seasons at Forrest he won littlewoods cup that was it and his career ended in disaster but it was his sheer entertainment that labled him the greatest.. Arse Wenger kept his mouth shut so did Claudio ranieri can you imagine them 2 managers acted like clough in front of the media lol they'de have a statue outside the Emirate and Walker stadium lol
@thepublichousebrandcom3 жыл бұрын
Not true, he wont two League Cups, and another major trophy at the time (beating everton at wembley). 3rd in the league and also reached Cup and League Cup Final. Remember that there was no European football at that time for english teams ( after he'd reached a semi with forest in 83). I think you're always on here trolling Clough videos, whats your problem??
@Kill--alllll---IDF3 жыл бұрын
@@thepublichousebrandcom his final 13 seasons he won 2 micky mouse trophies 1989 and 1990 people class him as the greatest but they never ever everrrr everrrrr remember Aston villa they did the impossible hmmm remember back to back major trophies league title then European Cup remember!! Clough was a good manager but the media label him the greatest cos of his sheer entertainment on the television screen !! Do u remember cloughs final game at forest wen they got relegated at final whistle A female police officer after the match she hugged clough and sed 》》 I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT FOOTBALL BUT BRIAN CLOUGH IS A LEGEND 🤔🤔 ERM? ah she sed that because CLOUGH ENTERTAINERED HIM SELF ON TV a wonderful character that's why she called him a legend .. THE COPPER KNEW NOTHING ABOUT FOOTBALL BUT SHE CALLED CLOUGH A LEGEND!!! now u understand what she meant?????? A tv entertainer pal Not a legend cos he won title with Derby pal cos villa did it too . Hope u understand

All these lovely stories about Cloughie floating around how he was good at man management, knew how to talk to footballers etc etc. How does this marry up with him walking into Leeds United and telling them all to put their medals in the nearest bin because they won them by cheating, and 44 days later he was gone. He deserved every criticism he received for that stupid move, and it was because the Leeds team were men of a certain stature who were probably just as strong and opinionated as he was, but he was on his own against a group of them. By the way I liked him' the but nobody ever gave his sidekick Taylor the credit for clearing up the mess as life passed by. The other point is that he was generally regarded by my generation as a great footballer, and I drooled over The thought of him and Greavsie playing together.
@burlatsdemontaigne61475 жыл бұрын
Alan Pullen _____ He was right. Leeds were the dirtiest team in the league for decades. Cheating, lying, dirty bastards.
@peterwood-jenkins36345 жыл бұрын
If you understood the game at PRO LEVEL you would know Clough was right REVIE was a nasty money grabbing northern Bastard Players played well for Clough for piss poor wages whereas with LEEDS TEAM at that time they were in general Over Paid You cant really compare the game these days because The Pitches in general today are grown and nurtured to such a high level, where as most during Clough's era they were bloody Mud Baths
