Please don't blame that the music is too loud to hear their voice. This TV program was originally broadcast in Japan and Japanese audience understand what they speak by reading subtitle. I don't have skill to reduce the sound on this video. BGMの音量が大きくて本人たちの声が聞き取りにくいという批判は書かないでください。この動画は日本で放送されたTV番組を録画したものです。番組制作者はおそらく、日本人の視聴者は字幕を読むから英語は少しくらい聞こえなくてもいいだろうと考えたのではないかと推測します。当方には動画中の特定の音声のボリュームを変えるという技術は持ち合わせておりませんのでご了承ください。

I wasn't putting ANY of the blame on you, I know it's the original... but they didn't have to make the music so loud is basically all I was saying. & I get the whole thing with the subtitles, but still, they could have made the music lower. Sorry for any confusion.

@@GYPSYG514 I think they didn't see the need to make the music lower since most japanese don't understand english and the interview wasn't broadcasted to foreigners, it was only in Japan, so we can't complain any bit about it. We are just seeing this now thanks to the kind Japanese fans.

Yeah, because it was broadcast in Japan, hence the subtitles which the majority of the Japanese audience would read. So the dialogue didn't really matter.

John Deacon's righteousness to the crown and title of God-Emperor of the Nerds is never more obvious than the way in which _he makes Lord Doctor Sir Brian May (CME, OBE, PhD, \M/) seem less nerdy, if not cool._ That the God Emperor of the Nerds wrote the two best bass riffs in the history of vibration (Another One Bites the D*** & Under Pressure), and the strong runner-up to the crown Brian May *_accidentally fucking invented speed metal_* in 1974 (Stone Cold Crazy, Sheer Heart Attack LP), says something about the danger of judging books by their cover. The fact that books still have covers, which we use quite happily (& even succesfully, at times) to select which to purchase/read, so long after the metaphor about not judging books by their covers joined the _Dead Metaphors Society,_ says something about giving too much credence to the above quote (amongst other things). That Freddie Mercury was good buddies with Gary Glitter, recorded with Michael Jackson, and the members of Queen often seem bashful when certain historical references come up (e.g. the strenuously dodgy David Bowie, drug-fueled parties with naked midgets waddling around carrying trays of narcotics and what not) and that there exists a photo of Brian in what looks like a '666' t-shirt, with his arm around a young boy, and that Lady Gaga named herself after the song Radio Gaga, might serve as useful initial anomalies to warrant further inspection of Queen, other bands, the music industry, and on and on. Some hints to get you started: what colour are the band member's uniforms? What's the significance of same? Where are the hands of the clock Fred's pretending to fuck around with pointing at the end of the shot? What deeper messages are contained in the movie Metropolis that inspired the video? Freddie's penchant for dressing up as Pan / Satan? Dressed in the which colours? _"I'll fuck anything darling"_ quote. The whole Mercury (Greek God, AKA the Roman Hermes, AKA the Egyptian Thoth) reference...significance of the number 39...Brian May being a -victim of- Freemason... White Rabbit.

Yes you can tell John really loved Freddie. Freddie were like brothers he took john under his wig john referred to him as his best friend. Freddie death took a big toll on John.

番組の放送時期から1985年頃のインタビューかな？フレディの病気も知らなかった頃。この2人凄くフレンドリーで穏やかで素敵ですね。クイーンはメンバーがインテリなせいか品を感じる。

1985年の来日時のインタビューと思われます。以前もコメントに書きましたが、Popper's MTVという深夜に放送されていた音楽番組をビデオに録画していたものから切り出しました。その時の来日公演に行きましたが、当時は私を含めおそらく誰もがまた何年後かに４人で来日してくれることを信じて疑わなかったと思います。まさかあれが最後になるとはまだ知る由もなかった頃ですね。

2:00 funny story 😂 "Freddie and Roger used to argue about who owned what and I can remember one time Freddie had his own jacket that he was very proud of and he hung it on the door when he went out for the coffee. Well, when he got back he found out that Roger sold it while he was gone, so Freddie went running after the guy and literally rips it off the guys back and gives him his money."

多分この来日の前のコンサートだったかも知れないけど、40年以上前この二人に六本木のディスコで会った事があって、思わず握手を求めたんだけど、ビックリするくらい紳士的に「How do you do」と挨拶してくれた。当時英語が全く話せなくて笑ってごまかしたことが今でも悔やまれる。

Brian:"I can remember one time Freddie had his proud of jackets witch is cloth of velvet and he hang it up his store when to have a cap of coffee. When he came back, Roger sold the jacket." I don't know next words. But subtitle is Freddie was angry and went to the guy bought the jacket, and gave back the money he gets back his own jacket.

おそらくQueenⅡのリリース後4~5年位経っていたので1979年頃だったと思います。ディスコはレキシントンから近くのビルの地下にあったキャッスルです。ロジャーとフレディーは来ていませんでした。そういえばプロモーターらしき人もいなかったような感じでした。ジョンの笑顔は今でも印象に残っています！

In my mind, I kept thinking the music was too loud, but @274LAYLA, you are absolutely right, that is what Japan did with all their interviews, so no complaint here, just in my mind remembering that Japan did that with all singers/groups that did not speak Japanese. On a second note, it was of course the to softest speakers on Queen. I had to watch this, John Deacon was my idol, a bassist that wasn't just standing in the background. All 4 members were soooo good looking. Rock on Queen --- RIP Mr. Bad Guy, Freddie Mercury.

This is a true gem! They are absolutely adorable! Brian mentioned in other interviews as well, how bad the Bowie experience was. I wonder whose messed up idea it was :-) There were already the four of them arguing and fighting over the songs and technicalities. Sure, why not include a fifth one who is not at all used to working with others. :-)) When the video cuts to the interviewer I keep wandering what these two were doing/gesturing that had to be cut out :-) Because there is no other explanation why they cut to the girl for like two seconds in the entire interview. :-))

Please complain someone who directed this TV program more than thirty years ago. This was broadcast in Japan with Japanese subtitle. So, I suppose the direcor would have thought it was not matter if thier voice sounded weak.... just in my opinion though.

Lovely interview. I suppose AI could split the background music from their actual words in a way the original upload (from over a decade ago) wouldn't quite been able to. Interesting that they mention 'Ogre Battle'. First (?) of many times Brian would do that.

アンダープレッシャーの話がありましたが、フレディとボウイの共通点は、二人ともリトルリチャードを尊敬し、崇拝してたことです。フレディは彼のコピーバンドをしていましたし、ボウイはルシアを聞いて、サックスを始めたのです。そして、リトルリチャードの自伝を愛読していました。リトルリチャードは引退を計3回してるので、あまり世間には知られてませんが、その音楽の質と量は凄いのです。私は全てのアルバムとシングルを所有してますが、フレディとボウイが崇めるのも頷けます。そして、フレディマーキュリーはリトルリチャードがやらなかったことを全てやったのです。(^_^)/~

KC, ELPのグレッグ・レイクも若い頃影響を受けたミュージシャンの中にリトル・リチャードを挙げています。ブライアンもボウイもグレッグも1947年生まれの同世代です。彼らの世代に大きな影響を与えたのですね。コメントありがとうございます。私は不勉強でリトル・リチャードは名前しか存じませんでした。

@@Layla274 返信ありがとうございます。リトルリチャードは自分のことを「ロックンロールの創始者」と言ってますが、突き抜けているという点ではフレディと同じかと思います。フレディはリトルリチャードのやらなかったことをやったのだと思います。しかし、彼の全アルバム、全シングルのアナログレコードを買い集め、自分でもよう集めたなあと思うぐらい集めて聞きましたが、フレディマーキュリーがコピーするのも納得できるほど凄いです。誰も真似できないぐらいの凄さです。ジョンレノンは彼のことをロックンロールの原始人と呼んでますが、これは言い得て妙で、原始的だからどれも初発の新しさがあると言えるのです。また、彼の出した3枚のゴスペルアルバム（内1枚はクインシージョーンズがプロデュースしていて、かなり洗練された感じのアルバムになってます）は史上最高のゴスペルと言われてますし、フレディに少なからず影響を与えたのではないかと思います。（ただし、フレディのゴスペルはリトルリチャードのものに比べて宗教臭さがないです）たしか、フレディは亡くなる前くらいに他のミュージシャンにもよびかけて、落ち目になったリトルリチャードを救済するようなイベントをしていたように記憶してます。

@@tg7393 ありがとうございますーーーーーーーーーーっぽん。リトルリチャードは初期の3枚のアルバムがわりと有名ですが、実は70年代にリプリーズから出した3枚のアルバムが凄いのです。ライノーハンドメイドというレーベル（ライノーレコードの技術者集団が作ったレーベルか？）でCDが出ていますが、アナログ盤よりアナログなサウンドです。3枚組で約2万円しますが、それだけの価値はあると思いますし、クイーンの好きな方にはわかっていただけると思いますョ。（私はリトルリチャードの宣伝マンです）(^_^)/~

佐藤亮介ぼくがリトルリチャード知ったのはビートルズのカバーだったので、好きなアーティストが共通のものや人物で繋がっていることを知るのは楽しいし嬉しいですね。クイーンはジョン・レノンが亡くなった時も追悼曲作ってますし…(しかもかなりビートルズサウンドっぽい)

David Bowie whom I respect highly as much as Queen is a different style of artist. There will be artistic differences between Queen and himself so won’t be surprised if there were disagreements during production and recording Under Pressure.
