Brian Sharp Sandford Park Christie Organ. The Great and talented Brian Sharp playing here in the early 1990s at Sandford Park. I was fortunate to meet Brian a few times as a good friend of mine used to have Brian come to play at some of his super parties and Brian was always more than happy to talk organs. Myself having heard him right back first in 1969 /70 when the BBC Radio 2 The Organist Entertains started. He soon became one of my organ heroes which made it even more of a treat to meet him I never thought at the age of 10 years old hearing him play on Robin Richmond's The Organist Entertains that I would indeed get to meet him later on in life as it turned out.

The Words of Alan Ashton are below. This sums this up so well I thought what more can you say.
Brian Sharp during his long-time residency at the Sandford Park Holiday venue near Poole, Dorset. The organ was the former Regent Poole. Antelope Hotel Christie organ, which was extensively customised to include all of Brian's associated electronic organs and keyboards. In fact, few sounds of the actual pipe organ were ever heard in a solo capacity, but the blending of all the instruments was a sound that could never be forgotten for its sheer enjoyment in the hands of this great artist.

For many years I enjoyed his visits to our club, I once asked him what was his most requested piece, it was The Old rugged Cross. A wonderful entertainer at clubs and Organ week at canister. His opportunity to play the Kawai largest at Stoud town hall is memorable as the floor under our feet trembled at the volume. Happy days, I'm in my 90ss now and miss the clubs and organ holidays at caister and Blackpool.👏👏👏👏💕

Lovely stuff. Brought back many memories of Sandford park. I spent many hours maintaining tuning and enlarging the organ. Here we hear just the pipes plus piano in the final flourish. I also recorded Brian many times there for my Odin Music Label. Brian was a genius. Every note on his recordings with me and others was played by him. No automatic rhythms. He was a perfectionist and we would spend many days laying down tracks ready for mixing. A privilege for me to be sure. Thank you for this.

How true if it was only that easy how he makes it look! But after years of trying myself, I know it's not! He had a real talent for sure and was such a nice chap to talk to as well many thanks Kev.
