@@venomvideos855 no, it works like a tile, except there are wayyyy more apple devices to locate it. Anytime an AirTag is near ANY apple device, it “pings” it’s location. There are videos showing people using AirTags to track packages, that’s only possible because it’s able to ping from other devices, not just your device.

Putting an AirTag below the seat is probably the best option. If you put one in the frame, it'll rattle around or get damaged. With it being under the seat, it'll be protected more.

I think putting the AirTag in the bell would be counterproductive. The steel housing would block the airtags signal.

You get a location in your phone it's weird there's was one in my friend's van bc we got messages and we found it and broke it then it stopped showing the location

Even if you have an AirTag and know where it is. Depending on where it is, a cop might not be able to get a warrant to search. You’d have to wait outside the place it was last seen and stake it out basically, hoping the thief moves it. Then hope the cops can get there in time

Putting it under the saddle with a duct tape is a bad idea. Put it inside the saddle is more suitable.

If the signal can be so easily blocked by some metal than it is the most worthless piece of tech for tracking in the world. Buildings, garages etc, would completely block those signals then I’m assuming

Tube or frame still works. I get notified when my AirTag has been left behind. It’s the best place because the thief would have to work much harder to try remove it. Or not even have a chance to see it.

Unfortunately apple is pretty dumb if you put a AirTag on your property like a bike or wallet etc, whoever stole you property will get notified that a apple AirTag is tracking them and will find it rendering it a useless tactic.

Put more then one on your bike hide one that's not easy to find but if it is you have a second one hidden that you can hide in the bike frame or your wheel or something if a thieving scumbag finds one thay ant going to think twice about a second one

Unfortunately you can't hide smart tags under a bell, because of it's shape and size. Why do people always suggest under seat when many thieves steal bike seats.
