Got a grand jackpot a couple weeks ago on this at our local casino. Was a Wednesday night around 10pm betting $5/spin on $0.10 denomination. Was told same machine got a grand jackpot earlier in the day betting the same amount, so definitely random.

It may not make much difference, but its definitely a huge coincidence that if I go to my local casino at 1:00 am on a Friday or Saturday, I always win. Any other time is a bust.

Time of day only matters to me when I just want to gamble in peace. Early morning, quiet coffee time, total concentration, no wild childs roaming around, last but not least, the button slappers are usually asleep. Also, choice of games.

I know all the experts say that time doesn't matter. Yet almost every time I play in a crowded casino I do poorly, and when I play during off peak hours, I tend to do much better. Maybe it's just coincidence, but it's worked out that way for me to frequently to ignore.

I find that I win more when I have more of a selection. Early in the morning when most people have left. When you have more of a selection, you don't feel obligated to stay at one machine. When you have more options when the casino isn't busy, your odds are a little better.

I sometimes walk around the casino and get a feel for how the machines are hitting. If I see lots of hits and hear lots of music, I’ll jump in. So far that seems to work sometimes.

At our nearby casino, I notice the "red envelope" bonuses tend to go off, so to speak, in late morning, between 11 am and noon. You can tell because they reset to $100. I have one in particular I like to play and if it's at, say, $140+ around 11:30, I'll throw a $20 at it and play minimum bet. Won several times that way. Otherwise I just need enough players around for the energy but not too many to occupy the slots I want.

I've seen those gambling away their RENT MONEY late/or early on a Saturday/Sunday... doubling down and then losing even more.) I spoke to somebody who writes code and he said they can loosen or tighten the slots, depending on the day of the week. They are all together. He works with the guy who has the show Bar Rescue.

@@slaycj2413 How do you deal with federal taxes now, since they raised the standard deduction to $24,000 for a couple most people dont have that many deductions, so they can no longer deduct gambling losses - if you play now with $10,000 and then break even on a $10,000 jackpot, there is no way to deduct the $10k loss, and the $10k W2G tax form they give you will get taxed at 25 to 30%. So even though you break even $10k in and $10k out - you have to pay up to $3000 on that one jackpot. The only way for the average person to deal with it is to play low payout machines and hope you dont hit over $1200 on any one spin. Really sucks the life out of casino play. I read something about paying taxes as a "professional Gambler" a schedule C sole proprietor business (self employed) but the IRS is short on details....

I had a friend of mine that worked at a casino and he did confirm that Tuesday and Wednesdays they actually do loosen the slots. They do it at midnight on Tuesday till midnight on Thursday. They tighten them from Thursday to Monday due to pay days. He worked there for 10 years.

the best time to go is when there is the most traffic moving through, which means more money moving through the machines which happens to be weekends at night 9pm through midnight. A close contender I've heard is 5-6am any day right after machines are serviced and the rush of seniors come in. I have never had chance to try at that time so not sure if there is any truth to it..

We're not in Vegas. In northern Michigan, we depend on tourists in the summer and snowmobilers in the winter. Between these "seasons" there isn't enough money going in. No money in = no money out. Trust me, I have kept tract of every win and loss for 3+ years.

I have won on many different days and times. Yes, timing is crucial, however, when the particular game you're playing is busy, or should I say its server, the machines tend to be more active, thus, helping your timing odds.

Slot machines work on a r.n.g. chip. Management can make the random number generator chip,tight loose or average. So there for time of day could matter if you know when they loosen the r.n.g. chips.

I know everyone has an opinion and yes, the machines are going to pay when they're programmed to pay, but I believe that the machines do pay more during the weekend when there are more people playing. ALL the times I have won more than $1200, it has been late at night and on the weekend. I've also gone on Mon-Thurs and never won!

@@leahzg6714 what he meant buy that is the casino needs to earn a certain percentage for the day which is determined electronically. Once they’ve done that the machines will start paying out more. It’s not about when they physically empty them. But even though he works there he may not be correct.

I feel people leave the casino when they're out of money and lots of machines left on losing spins. So a little after everyone is basically gone, you're left with your pick of ready to hit machines.

I agree with this, but I do not seem to play well after big events. I tend to believe that these big events bring in people from afar who have saved for this moment all year, and likewise, they tend to go in big and milk the machines. I have NEVER got a jackpot when a city or a specific casino has had an annual event that brings in people from all over.

It's when the machine hits its quota is when it can pay out. Say a major is at $1000, the machine needs to make $3000 minimum to pay out. That's minimum it's probably make 6k to 9k before it decides to hand out a major

Up your bet , sometimes if not hitting go up or down a lot of time it will start hitting, I notice sometimes games are hitting on a 1:50 other times it’s it’s .50 or 1:00, he needs to go up and down on the bet to get it hitting. I play a lot I would never stay that long on a machine not hitting for that long.

There are some machines that are in a time cycle which pays out. At sunset I played this Fu doa something I call it the babies game it hit every weds at 7:08pm 7 weds in a row I got a hand pay on the bonus game till they changed it to early 8Pm and by then 2 other ladies figured it out and they’d sit there just to wait till the time to get the bonus and they would get it.
