Star Tours - Closing Night

Күн бұрынOn July 26 2010, Star Tours closed its doors and flew the last shuttles to the moon of Endor. The ride will be closed until next year and when it reopens it will feature several new films, probably in 3D.
My friends and I all made sure to be there the last night, along with hundreds of hardcore fans. And because it was the last night, we all had to quote the lines, and shout and be obnoxious. It was the best flight I ever experienced.

I don't know whether to like or dislike this video. Yay for being there and getting footage on the last night, EPIC SAD AND BAWW for Star Tours closing. It was always the first thing we did at the park 'cause it was my brother's favorite ride. :( Hopefully when it opens up again, they'll still have that flight to Endor.

I would have loved to have been there. These are my people. The people who love the ride and star wars so much that they don't care how they act and just let loose and enjoy themselves. You are extremely lucky to have had the chance.

it kinda reminds me of the whole 'rocky horror' thing with everyone quoting the ride and adding their own lines X3 hehe, I LIKE IT!!! :D

can u belive I even started to cry??? It's the bed ride ever!!!!! and I do agree...I hope it has Pod Racing next time....but like everything...nothing beats like the first time and the originals...I so wish I could've been there...oh well...keep this video so dam safe so sometime in the future when everyone forgets about it...u can bring it back 2 memory :D

this makes me sad and yet i am happy to know that it will return. i know that there will be other destinations on the ride but i do hope they keep the classic as an option as well. Wee will see in 2011.

You're videos are never boring! You have to love the commentary during the whole ride. You guys must put your passes to good use all the time- lucky! lol I love the Pee Wee Herman laugh at about 7:40

I have the best memories of this ride :) The first time I ever went to Disney my dad and I waited in line for about an hour, which probably wasn't worth it, but I won't ever forget sitting and thinking, "All my dreams have just come true :D "

This was always a must ride for me. I'm going in November and it's gonna be heart breaking to see this ride with the construction wall around it...but I can't wait to see Star Tours 2

I was there, and was a bit bummed that I didn't get to go on it again pre-midnight, so my last flight was at about 10:30 that night. :( I'll miss you, Rex.

This was my favorite ride. I rode it when I was eight years old and fell in love with. For me it is sad to see it go (as we know it). I am not a fan of 3-d at all, which is why this ride was so great for me. It will truly be missed by me.

The ride has no closing date yet here in France. I did it two days ago actually and still love it. Planning on doing it a lot more during my upcoming visits now that I know it will close probably very soon.

@7happypeople That's in the DL book: The robot was faulty & wasn't fully inspected. Not sure if this is common knowledge, but that's all pee wee herman. I'm board of him, the lines and the ride - I'm looking forward to the new ride (I had the idea for a new ride-video in 1999)

Thank you so much for sharing that--just--thank you! Star Tours is one of my favorite rides, and I am so sad they're messing with it! I couldn't agree more--I hope they DON'T add pod-racing. They need to leave out all that new episode crap... In fact, leave it as is! You guys are so much fun!

My last flight was wierdly enough the greatest! Everyone in there was screaming and partying and just having a good time!Everyone was putting their hands in the air and some were waving like they just don't care (guess who was doing that *couMEgh cough* lol) it definately was the greatest trip to endor.....so far.... ;)

That's sad. I loved that ride when I was younger, but the last time I went on it I got sick after I got off. :( (stupid motion sickness!) If the new one's in 3D I won't be able to go on it. Aww well, at least I have your video to watch it over and over again...and I won't get sick from watching It. xD Looks like you and your friends had fun. @briberry You are SOOOOOO lucky! This is one of my favorite rides and still is. I wish I had been there so I could have been on one of its last flights. :( I still have the old ride audio and I play it daily. I'm going back to DL in a month and having to walk by Star Tours and not go on it, I won't be surprised if I cry.

I always thought the pilot was drunk and that's way he messed it all up

The original story behind the attraction was that the pilot was meant to be a grizzled war veteran with a dash of insanity. Disney didn't like the idea of the pilot having dementia, so they altered the story to have the pilot be new and inexperienced rather than psychotic.

it's too bad there never really was a regular TRON ride, and the little short ride they had in the 1980s on the People Mover did not seem to do the original film and Justice.
