These lyrics may not be a direct translation, heck you may not even like them, but I don't care. They represent the whirlwind of feelings and emotions Kaneki has to experience as he learns to accept who he is.
I dedicate this cover to my amazing best friend who took her time to write these lyrics for me and who has given me unconditional love and support from the very beginning. Happy Birthday Sapphy. I Love you, girl.

I have no words to express how happy I am that this is back. Anytime I desperately needed motivation, anytime I felt too stressed to think straight, anytime I felt at rock bottom, I came to this song, this version. This gives me an energy that nothing else can, for some reason I can't explain. Thanks for sharing your voice and time. ALSO, I always wanted to say, fantastic job on the lyrics translation. It's been like 7 yrs since I've listened to this song in both original and English version , I'm surprised it's been this long , but I haven't yet overcome my mental struggles. Whenever my pasts haunt me , it's your song that reliefs my pain. Atm my mental condition is improved but yeah still not enough, still a long way of recovery. One day I hope that I would finally say goodbye to my pasts , and live a new I've been long for. Thank you :))

Heather Jarek It's insanely different. S1 follows the manga okay; it's a bit lesser because studio piroet sucks with incorperating details. But season 2 might as well be a different anime with some of the same events happening for some stupid reason. I wish studio bones had gotten ahold of Tokyo Ghoul. It's so much worse than the vision Ishida made.

@@FrightTyGunn The thing about Tokyo Ghoul is that people can put themselves in Kaneki's condition, philosophically speaking. It's a form of nihilism where you invent your own values and uphold them at all cost, and, in this particular case, this ethic doesn't include maximizing the well being of others. If you want a more every-day version of that, you could look at J. Kimblee from Full Metal Alchemist.
