Put on your good headphones, turn on Closed Captioning, and make sure you aren't French.
Late in the summer of 1356, the oldest son of England’s King, Edward the Third, Edward the Black Prince, led a small army from Bordeaux deep into the French King’s realm, almost exactly ten years after the humiliating defeat of the French at Crecy in 1346.

The coins featured are:
(1) a silver groat, or fourpence, of King Edward III of England, from the Baron Ian Stewartby collection, in good very fine / almost extremely fine condition.
(2) a gold Franc à cheval of King Jean II (John II) of France, in mint state. This was the first franc. It was introduced in 1360 to pay the Ransom of King John II of France. This coin secured the king's freedom and showed him on a richly decorated horse earning it the name franc à cheval (meaning "free on horse" in French).

The scene of the last French knight standing beside his King, knowing there is no hope for him, and dying by the enemy’s sword is very powerful

It has historical president, almost none of King John “Le Bel”’s entourage of knights survived the battle, most were killed by arrow or archers during the start of the battle, while many others died fighting at his side.

There is a very famous story about that. At that point in the battle, as John was doing his last stand, his young son, Philip, 14yo, was looking for him "Père, gardez-vous à droite. Père, gardez-vous à gauche" (Father, watch on your right. Father, watch on your left). Philip was therefore called "the Bold" (le Hardi) and received Burgundy later and married the count of Flanders' only daughter. Ironically, his lineage was to be big, big, trouble for the kings of France...

What I liked about this LEGO stop motion was that it was educational and did a good job of showing the inescapable and permanent horrors of war. It's still graphic with dismemberment, head gashes, and the like but it's LEGO. It shows you the terribility of killing civilians and plundering their homes while still being LEGO-fan-friendly. Lord, have mercy on us all. God bless.
