When you are spending $4000 on perhaps the most important dress of your life I don't know why trying on 8-10 dresses is considered a lot.

I understand she doesnt want to show them sokething she doesnt like but i think she needs to look at the silhouettes before details. Narrow down how she wants her body to look before details and fabrics

I agree, it seems that it would be helpful to have simple dresses in each style that would help these confused brides see what works best for them and then decide how fancy or plain to make it theirs.

@user-ny3lf9bi2x yea it's not hard to google these things. I have screenshots of Dress silhouettes Necklines Lengths Fabric appearance Veils So that when I went to my first appointment it was streamlined and productive. Then my second appointment was only dresses that fit what looked right

Bride 1: They mostly showed the same dress over and over and wondered why she didn’t like it. Every one of them was an iteration of a sweetheart neckline. Why not try a completely different top if only to give her ‘fresh eyes.’ I think she’d have been happy with wedding fatigues.

that's a good point...she isn't that shapely and that cut did not flatter. The rusched one made her look curvy and looked great on her! I think she was just frustrated, otherwise would have said yes since she doesn't like to shop. There are many different cuts of dresses...so why did they show her 7 the same?

I also wonder whether she mightve liked some sort of feminine suit? Just based on how she was talking it seemed that she didn't really feel comfortable in a dress but maybe that's bc they showed her the same type of dress 8x

EXACTLY. ON POINT. OR ask her what she DOESN'T LIKE! It is odd, I'd think with the reputation they claim to have- they would SPEAK to the bride BEFORE the appointment to gather an idea, and notate what she's looking for as well as a few others. Their proclaimed expertise is often underwhelming. HOWEVER- I have to believe some of this is scripted and we know it is edited for the drama of it..that itself is what creates the show.

They did. We only saw a fraction of the ones she tried on. "Dress number 7." They brought in a-line, princess, fish-tail, etc. What other silhouettes do you think there are?

The army bride who didn't like anything, had said she wasn't used to wearing dresses. That's why she couldn't settle on anything. She just hasn't gotten used to being comfortable in them. That's what the consultants and her entourage need to deal with first. Once she's comfortable, then she can pick out a silhouette and all the details.

No, she’s not coming back because something tells me what she actually ended up with was a probably a low waisted ballgown, which is what they did not show her a contrasting dress to what she was actually asking for you know how it is they go in for one thing and the brain and come out with something totally different. Once it consultant shows them something else that they never thought of. Which they missed the Mark on

They do a combination of the two. But they do have the majority of the episodes on Pluto Tv for free (with non shippable ads). I think it goes from 2008 to 2018.

I would have been PISSED if the bride were trying on gowns for an hour and a half and didn't come out! Plus, the last gown was stunning on her and she didn't buy it.

I come from a big family and am the youngest. There were 4 people at my wedding. My mom and one of my brothers. I have tons of nieces and nephews. I babysat most of them growing up. Went to almost all their weddings. Never got asked to be in one....and none of them came to mine. It was a sad day...with a current of happiness underneath. Why does it seem that one person gets shut out? My wedding , the birth of my only son.I have to say all my dreams got lost 😦.

I agreed with her. The dresses all looked the same and not her cut. She should be able to try the whole shop on if she wants. She is paying.

@tck3041 No one is saying that she needs to buy something she doesn't like. But she doesn't understand what she wants. She hasn't even nailed down a silhouette, much less type of fabric or details. The appointment is a set time. She can't try on all the dresses in the store in that appointment. Therefore, she should have researched what she wanted or what looked good on her. Only at the end of the appointment did she say that she waned simplicity with sparkle. At the end! Why wasn't she deciphering what she wanted at the beginning instead of just saying "no, no, no!" The consultants are not mind readers. And even reading her mind would go nowhere because she still had not decided on a silhouette. That's weird because she tried on so many different ones. Is she capable of looking in the mirror?

I know this clip is old, but it kept bugging me that they only spoke of dresses for the first bride. Bridal jumpsuits were invented for a reason, and it would have harmonized more with how the bride described herself. I'm the kind of person who LOVES to wear dresses... but not everyone is like that. My "middle sister" (who's actually my cousin, but we lived in the same house for 6,5 years of our childhood, so I think of her and her older sister as my older sisters) wore a beautiful jumpsuit for her wedding. My little sister (yes, actual sister) has mentioned that she would like to try on both dresses and jumpsuits if she were to get married: she likes dresses, but oftentimes finds herself more comfortable in pants. None of our preferences are right or wrong; they're just our personal preferences. My favourite part of the show is when a woman looks in the mirror and actually feels as beautiful as she looks. We won't get as much of that if we pretend that everyone likes dresses as much as I do...

I do know what I like and what style works best on me, and how to make an informed decision. I know how to set a theme…but why go dress shopping when you aren’t even sure what style you like yet? What a waste of your time and the salon. So don’t come at me about what you don’t know, Internet Stranger! LOL

@@jeswainston What's impressive to me is that all of these brides have applied to be featured on the show. In most cases it looks like they just wanted either some TV time, or professional filming of their dress shopping moment. This bride didn't do her homework, other bring along entourage they have chosen only to show off dysfunctional family relations and personal issues - and to have them broadcasted worldwide and saved for posterity. This episode is 13 years old. And it's here to stay. Once online, always online.

If bride #1 had been a bride that wasn't on the show they would have politely tossed her out the door after an hour at the end of her appointment. There would be none of that finally goes out to show the entourage after 90 minutes in the dressing room. Customers don't get to stay as long as they want.

Honestly, you don’t know until you cross over but I am guessing that once you are dead and cross over, all is over and forgiven. Sorry to hear that and that was how many felt towards my late dad as he was a terrible person during his final years.

My frustration with her is that she brought all those people but didn't have them help her. She didn't show them dresses so they could offer their help in picking a good silhouette or dress material. If I were in her entourage, I would have had difficulty not looking upset.

That's what the consultant is supposed to be for. A no is just as important as what you do like. If the consultant asked the proper questions such as "what do you like about the dress, if anything?" But if you don't know dresses and book an appointment with someone who's supposed to, then it's the consultant's job to help her figure that out. That's the point.

@eeriecraft1797 She is a big girl. She should be able to offer her opinion about what she likes when the consultant brought in Amy different styles. These appointments are made or broken by the bride's attitude. She came in saying she hates shopping. She came into an appointment that SHE scheduled and applied for. Why did she not do any homework? I know she doesn't wear dresses often, but does she know what kind of material she likes? Is she aware of her shape and buy shirts and pants to make her shape look better? That knowledge or insight could have helped her. "I don't like my hips" or "I am too boxy" would have gone a long way. She offered exactly nothing.

They are there to help her make a decision on a dress. If she is unsure of the correct silhouette, why not go out and ask the entourage and get their opinions? They are frustrated because this woman - who says she hates shopping - isn't bringing them in on her appointment. They want to help her, and she won't let them. She is acting like she should only show them the dress once she made a decision or something. That is not too smart when she is -knowingly - not good at shopping. They could have given her suggestions that she didn't think of asking for. That is not being "entertained" but participating in the dress search.

I have a hard time saying a bride looks beautiful when I think the dress is ugly LOL…I’m a terrible person. I always find something nice to say though. I never say a dress is ugly to the bride or anyone. I keep it to myself, at least in real life. Online, who cares LOL
