I just realized stewie can go to the future, rob a bank for a ton of money, and return home rich.

Actually that would not work. He would not be able to use that money until after the date of said Robery. If he tried to use that money he will be tracked (some bills have their numbers down for tracking)

If he tried to spend a lot of it. They would be able to track it and would come to the conclusion, that it's a really good counterfeit as the numbers wouldn't have been printed yet

Inverting expectation is a classic comedy move, you get the example of two people sliding down the pole normally and you wonder what could possibly be the joke? Then he slides up the pole and at the very best it's funny, at worst it's still surprising therefore it counts as comedy
