Bridge Day 2018 - Ascend & Rappel

Күн бұрынBridge Day is West Virginia's largest single-day festival and one of the largest extreme sports events in the world. Held annually every third Saturday in October on the New River Gorge Bridge in Fayette County, West Virginia. This is the only day each year thousands of spectators can walk across the bridge and watch as serious BASE jumpers get their chance to fly 876 feet into the Gorge below all the while rappellers ascend and descend from the catwalk.
This video contains a climb and rappel from under the bridge - featuring members of the VBATS Bridge Day team - 2018.

How long did your climb take?

35 minutes, give or take. We were both using the rope-walker system. The ascending rope stations are the first on the catwalk, so the distance is less due to the slope of the gorge below. Total ascent was approximately 670‘

What ascension devices are they using to walk up the rope? I need those for work!
