A Sermon on Suicide | Not Alone: Mental Health | The Bridge Church | Ian Simkins

If you put your hand over your heart, you feel your heart beating, and that means something powerful. It means that God still has a purpose for your life.
But that doesn't mean we won't experience the darkness of our world in ways that affect us physically, spiritually, and mentally. The statistics around Americans struggling with suicidal thoughts are staggering, and they're more than numbers-they're people. Maybe even people we know.
But mental illness is a comment on your chemicals, not your Christianity. God has the power to make something beautiful out of brokenness.
Scripture shows us that we don't have to hide from our struggles or pretend they aren't there. We can face them head on because we have a God who loves us, who understands us, and who has the power to bring hope and healing.
May we, Church, be a safe community to dive into the tough topics and walk alongside each other in the burdens. It's a lighter weight when carried together.

I turned this on as a last resort because I couldn’t seem to think of another option and no one was answering when I tried to talk to friends. I’ve recently became Christian and most of the people in my church keep telling me that my faith isn’t strong enough because of my mental health. This message matters so much! This message saved my life today.

It’s okay. It’s okay to feel that way. I’m tired of waking up feeling depressed and suicidal but I know God is putting me through tests. Please keep living. It don’t matter how long you been feeling hopeless, keep waking up and doing things YOU want to do. I love you and may God bring peace to your soul.

I just want to give Jesus a big thank you and appreciation from the bottom of my heart. I use to look these kind of videos up to make me feel better about one day making a final decision to end my life and be with Jesus. But Jesus DIED so I can live. For those struggling just really and seriously think about the pain you are feeling is what Jesus felt times a million. He did that all for YOU! The closer you get to him yes the enemy will attack because you are a threat. But please finish strong and do not throw away everything Jesus did for you! God loves you SO MUCH❤🎉!!!

I found out one of my friends passed away on Saturday this way and it opened up so many old wounds from when I was in high-school and my best friend did the same thing.

I find it in bad taste for people to use this topic for building a business such as a church. This guy probably has zero problems and has no idea what it's like to live with the beast(suicidal ideation) talking to someone, especially at a church is absolutely the WRONG thing to do
