POSTPARTUM HAIR LOSS… let’s talk about it! When your hair is falling out more than usual, it can be very stressful! Yes, hair falling out is normal to an extent but postpartum shedding can take things to the next level.
Giving birth, having a baby, and postpartum recovery takes A LOT out of women. Most of the time, women aren’t being taken care or or able to fully address their postpartum healing needs. Hair care starts on the INSIDE. If you want to stop hair shedding, hair breaking, and grow hair fast, you need to address what’s going on INSIDE your body.
In this video, we’re talking about the reasons for hair loss / hair thinning postpartum, hair loss treatment from the inside out for healthy hair using natural remedies for hair growth, how to regrow hair / how to get thicker hair, and using vitamins for hair and other supplements for hair growth.
What’s your experience with post partum hair loss? Comment Below 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼

I love her work but… I don’t think this is necessarily true. I am a dietitian and yes, nutrition is related to hair loss/quality except when we’re talking about postpartum hair loss. Then it has much more to do with hormones keeping you in the shedding phase of hair growth. All her suggestions are great, but it’s also just normal and mostly out of your control 🤷‍♀️ And also an opportunity for people to sell you shit you don’t need on IG (hello vitamins that aren’t third party tested or approved for breastfeeding 🙃).

Postpartum hair loss is normal- to an extent. It’s when it goes beyond that normal (like what I experienced and many women) that it’s often linked to something else- often nutrient depletion.

I took prenatal vitamins and continued taking them while breastfeeding. I stopped combing through my hair as often, started finger detangling, and incorporated clove water on my scalp to help minimize hair shedding.

She did mention it at the end of the video. That you can't really help avoiding it all together and it's just part of the postpartum experience.

Honestly, I did all the things you mentioned and I still lost a lot of hair. It started 3 months after giving birth and it lasted around 4 months, after it started getting better.

My postpartum hair loss after my twins has been so bad. Tysm for this video and the info!! I’m wondering if having twins and nourishing two babies in the womb could have made it more severe? I’m hoping to get pregnant in a year and am going to be so much more active with preventing it
@BridgetTeyler

I think it definitley could make it more severe. Think of how much more your body had to do and give to make TWO babies at the same time!!!

No constant trims are just opening up the ends of straw-like hair and then the moisture leaks out. The best thing is to put a little oil into the ends to seal it and to not over wash or bleach and yes eat a healthy diet and exercise so your new hair will stay healthy and grow out faster. I learned this from the blowout Professor

I have four kids... postpartum hair shedding is what itt is. There are things you can do to "help" your situation. And things you should not do that will make it worse. The best advice I can give is not obsess over it. It can grow back. I would suggest no chemical process or tension hair styling. Keep a solid hair regimen and it can get better. Not everyone goes through it but for those of us that do it's just something that we have to be patient and get through. It's hormones and they are going to do what they are going to do regardless.

Adding a few drops of rosemary oil to your shampoo have shown me great results. Also oiling your hair with castor oil helps. Don't forget daily Biotin supplement

I heard castor oil is not good if you're breastfeeding, though. Not sure if it's just Big Pharma being weird, or if it's actually true.

Just a warning to breastfeeding mamas.. nutrafol gave my poor baby the WORST stomach pain, like so bad that he didn’t even want me to touch or massage his stomach. It started the day I started the pills and ended the day after I quit. My guess is the excess of biotin caused it since it’s known to cause digestive issues and nutrafol contains a lot more biotin than recommended daily for a breastfeeding woman.

I switched from a carnivore diet to plant based at 4 months post partum and noticed a significant difference. I would not recommend beef.. why not just go for what the cow eats directly which is high protein sources :beans, soy, legumes etc.. Highly recommend talking with a plant based nutritionist Another way to think about is : can hair health really look luscious and thick with eating dead /beaten animals? 😢

I’ve been vegan , vegetarian , raw vegan and carnivore. Plants keep my weight down , my skin look fresh and always energized. At the same time my hands hurt as though I have arthritis , I was always cold, my period flowed like water , hair and nails weak and I mentally feel off. As a carnivore my hair and nail flourish my mind is sharp and emotionally balanced but my skin doesn’t look as bright or fresh , my weight is on the higher side and I am not as energized . Balance is my current goal. As far as eating like the cow we don’t have the same digestives enzymes to convert plants.

@@BridgetTeyleryep, mom to a 20 month old and it still very much feels like I’m postpartum. My body and brain are still very much in recovery. Even doctors recommend waiting at least 1.5 years before you get pregnant again because that’s the time it takes your body to heal from the last pregnancy.
