Brighton Marina East Wall Species Hunt

Here I hit Brighton Marina East Wall, fishing an array of species. My hope was for plaice, but conditions were far from ideal, with plenty of colour in the sea. I landed a single dog along with a lot of whiting! Sadly no flatties, but we were greeted with a beautiful rainbow. Baits used were fresh black lug, mussels, and prawns. All fish were caught on lug.
In this video, I cover the rigs used: a loop rig, torpedo rig, and a two-hook clipped down. I show how to bait up with all three baits used and demo how to unhook fish using a t-bar.

Hello, what a refreshing channel you have created, I think its brilliant. I have watched most of your videos now. Your credentials are very impressive. I just admire your style and down to earth explanations, your rigs and methods are great. So much so that I have tried to rearrange my rig making and such to improve my own fishing. Especially the baiting up parts, so well explained Thank you so much, I look forwards to more.

47:49 Big fish, little fish, cardboard box 😂 New subscriber here and loving the videos. Unfortunately Brighton a bit far to travel but still lots to learn as I'm new to beach fishing. 👍🏻

Hi gem you ok , well done on your session. I'm still hooking whiting in-between the flounders n dabs on the humber . I think it's this shit weather. Its still well cold on the east coast with these northerly winds we've had 4 a fortnight. All the best from GRIMSBY

The whiting are total pests sometimes aren’t they. I probably shouldn’t say this but I hope they’ve moved on down this way now.

Great video Gem, I like warts n all approach rather than the highly edited fish , fish ,fish which gives the impression its always hectic . Its not totally clear but it appears you're using cooked prawns and mussels, would raw be better for scent and attraction, I buy mussels in 1 kg bags fresh and prep at home by taking the raw flesh out the shell and forming 1 to 2 inch sausages wrapped in elastic vac packed and frozen down in 6's . Prawns I get the raw tiger prawns and use them headless shell on .

Yes, I was using cooked prawns and blanched mussels. I totally agree that raw is better, sometimes we just have to use what we have or can get hold of.

Yep - I think Norway took its toll on my reels. Not had time to service them. Too busy fishing lol.

I made some rod rest platforms that sit on top of wall and in front of it can put bait board etc it takes 3 rods and holds them so eyes stay upwards if like?

Great work! I don’t mind a few scratches myself as I like to travel light. It’s a long walk lol. Guess we all have our own preferences reflecting how we get set up and fish.

Put a towel on the wall to stop it damaging your rods !

We're all different. I prefer not to use a towel myself, especially on really windy days when a gust can send it flying.

Just asking if that's a loop rig
@ClickBaitGem
@ClickBaitGem 3 ай бұрын
Not sure which of my rigs you mean (sometimes I use a loop rig) Tom. The torpedo rig - if you mean that one - is a hybrid of a loop rig and a bomber rig. I've put up a video on the channel showing how to make it, and explaining it's relationship to both a bomber and a loop rig.
