I've been to Antarctica 15 times over 2 seasons, I was part of a C130 crew working for Adventure Network and we landed on an unprepared blue ice field. Very bumpy landing! It is a beautiful place but really unforgiving, making a mistake here can cost you dearly.

@@robertbonczkowski6310 I can believe it! We touched the ice accidently a couple of miles short of the landing area in a whiteout, we were lucky to get away with it without damage, the main gear had just bumped along the top of a hill. Another aircraft crashed nearby on the same day.

Actually I lived in Mcmurdo Station Antarctica for 6 months. The Army, Navy, AirForce and New Zealand Army, and the National Science Foundation are everywhere on this continent. There is a Chapel, a large Mess Hall serving great food, A Bar, a gym, an Ice Pier, and Air Terminal. The ATM is at McuMurdo Station by the Base Exchange and there is one at Scott Base. Civilization is prominent and there is a clinic there too. I have pictures from my 6 months living there and I certainly have no reason to lie about my venture in 1992. I've only met one person since I have returned who was stationed there. I met him at a Veterans Program at the FCC in 2015 in D.C. I have two Army friends who I keep I am friends with to date who were my roommates in Antarctica, Mcmurdo barracks. And yes we needed money to buy souvenirs, snacks, uniforms, toiletries to include soap, detergent, sanitary pads, and shampoo, and gifts to mail home to family. The strangest thing I saw there were Penguins that weren't afraid of humans. There was much more but he covered most of it.

8:08 Last week on “In search of” an unidentified creature similar to this was found and well documented in Scotland in the 1800’s, It May have gave rise to the Loch Ness monster tales, If you see the episode note the shape of the head, the boney structure and the fur. The creature found was much larger and specimens were taken and are in the Royal Museum, I kid you not.

@MJLeger-tz4so
@MJLeger-tz4so 4 жыл бұрын
They can analyze it for chemicals and elements that are alien to Earth, they can use carbon-dating, radioactive dating, and other ways to determine what the meteors, asteroids, other space materials are made of; we're still learning though! Explosions are occurring all the time in the vast spaces above our planet Earth, and some of it will burn up as it goes through our atmosphere, some will hit earth. It has happened many time before and it continues to happen!! There is much to still learn!

To bad. Citizens are not allowed to explore antarctic. The Antarctica treaty prevents all citizens of the world from exploring. To this date it is the only treaty all countries have signed. When you want to keep people believing they live on a magic ball that floats through space at over 750mph while spinning over 1300mph but they cannot tell it then you cannot allow them to explore the one place that will crush the whole thing!!
