One Halloween, I made a "spell book", I wanted to look like a book from the middle ages with a gem studded cover. I went to DT and bought several metallic puffy stickers with " gemstones and used them to decorate the cover. I used acrylic metallic bronze and black paint to make the stickers to look like real metal and used nailpolish to turn some of "stones" into "rubies".

Dollar Tree has some of the most beautiful stickers. The large butterfly stickers I turned into wall art in my guest bedroom. You would never have guessed they we're stickers.

Could you have primer or painted an undercoat of white paint in order to cover the original imagine and then used fewer layers of vinyl? In other words, does the vinyl stick on top of primer or paint?
