They apparently can't give an offline only mode since according to them, the game is built around having an online access as a crucial component but its ubisoft and I dont trust any word that comes out of their mouths.

@@amicheroner4751 That's one of the most weakest excuses for online only, quite disrespectful actually. So how did they make wildlands with offline mode? What I liked about Wildlands is that it felt real. The world felt alive. Breakpoint is more like a scifi game, and although the world looks amazing, it's just boring as there is no life

@@LugovoisesGames I don't think it was a miscalculation. Bolivia bitched about being the chosen setting in WIldlands, saying it paints their country in a bad light or something. But, me personally, it made me want to go to the actual Bolivia. Cause if the approximation looks that good, i bet the real deal will be even better. But yeah, that was enough to make Ubisoft stop using real world locations for Ghost Recon. They still could've made the map feel more alive though. Which is a shame, cause i honestly believe the gameplay in Breakpoint is better. I love playing with full (Always) injuries, limited bandages, syringes can't heal injuries, and AI on advanced. Before the extreme difficulty lovers get to me, I chose advanced cause it's the AI option where they felt more life-like. For example, extreme AI can recognize it's you on a speeding vehicle when you pass by them. Even when it's one of their vehicles. It takes a bit of time for them to recognize something's off in advanced. The AI also has a believable sight radius, among other things. And, with injuries set to always/full, every shot can be really debilitating. So i still had to be careful. Couple that with the settings i have for syringes and bandages, and it's just a blast to play.

It's supposed to feel empty and hopeless for two reasons 1) Breakpoint was intended to be a survival GR game, it's you against the world, the feeling of loneliness and adversity are the main characters of Breakpoint. 2) if you pay close attention to the story Auroa is a secluded island in the middle of nowhere, and it's basically cut off from the rest of the world, most of the people have been killed and the few survivors have join the outcast or joined Erewhon. In GR Wildlands the story takes place in the South American country of Bolivia, and it's controlled by a fictional Mexican Cartel named Santa Blanca and the government has been replaced by the Cartel and life goes on in Bolivia, and the people of Bolivia have to obey Santa Blanca or else, that's why the world of Wildlands feel alive, you see people going about their lives, you hear music and propaganda in the radio while you drive, Nomad and his squad are all together, there was no attack on them when they arrived, and Nomad and his crew have basically and entire army to back them up, that's why Wildlands feel more action driven and has a faster pacing, at times Wildlands reminds me of a GTA game because of the pacing of the world and the action and involvement of the people that inhabit Bolivia. While Breakpoint is more driven by stealth.

@@davidalfonso3149 Well, they pretty much threw the whole “hopeless and empty”, “feeling of loneliness” and “you against the world” the moment they introduced Erewhon. All of what you’ve said was nullified by the idea of a hub area where an NPC can pretty much provide you with whatever you need. When they first introduced Breakpoint, i wasn’t expecting there to be a safe area besides the bivouacs.

It's not that only that the don't care, don't forget those sweet ESG bucks. There's a good reason Grimsdottir in Blacklist was a smoking hot redhead, but the female character creator looked like a butch lesbian that got hit by the ugly tree. Or why 90% of the NPCs you encounter are nearly identical activist looking motherfuckers, and the Lara Croft "crossover" amounted to a fucking scavenger hunt and a new gun and shirt. Combined with the rest of the trash they keep releasing, it's pretty obvious The Message is more important than profit or customer satisfaction. Ubisoft doesn't deserve your money. Put that money towards an indie dev with passion... if/when someone decides to step into the tactical squad 3PS arena, get behind them. Don't stay attached to the Tom Clancy brand, because it doesn't mean what it used to. Clancy is rolling in his grave at what his name has become linked to.

As a long-time fan of the Ghost Recon franchise, I disagree with a lot of the points you mentioned on how to improve the game - it definitely won't change that the Auroa setting is just kinda bland, and Ubisoft already have a 3rd person shooter series in urban settings - the Division. It wasn't that Ubisoft didn't have "faith" in Breakpoint, it's that they suppressed whatever cool original ideas the devs had, just so that they'd be able to monetize the bollocks off every single aspect of the game. I hope they learn from their mistakes.

@@LugovoisesGames That's part of my point too though - a whole different open world terrain with civilians, traffic, etc., would be a very difficult task to bring into an existing game. Also, the Ghosts do not really operate domestically. I think that for the next game, there should be an urban environment to add to the variety of tactical situations. For me, getting deeper into the lore is also not really required, but the story should be good. The MAIN issue with Breakpoint (and even Wildlands) is that Ubisoft rely on the open world too much, which leads to a lack of well-designed missions. Ghosts never have to cooperate with other units (things like assisting an armored advance or participating in a large battle, destroying enemy logistics, realistically coordinating air strikes, proper use of indigenous forces - you know, things requiring actual RECON). There are no proper CQB mechanics, like breaching and clearing, no proper support weapons - machineguns are basically assault rifles with a bigger magazine, which is not at all immersive and makes them next to useless, because the game is stealth-focused. In fact, there are no situations, where going loud is actually advantageous, which limits gameplay options severely. Objectives are basically go there and kill everyone. Maybe hack a terminal. In other mechanics, they actually fail to use the open world effectively - enemy spawn distance and ballistics are trash (much worse than Wildlands), making sniping really unsatisfying. The easiest thing to fix is the boring gameplay: - introduce missions with multiple objectives that make sense tactically, - have the Ghosts cooperate with other US forces and/or indigenous militia, - have larger operations, where the player can decide, which element the Ghosts will be (assault, MG or sniper support with good ballistics, flank security - cutting off enemy reinforcements, sabotage, etc), - have more authentic weapon use - MGs for support, antimaterial rifles, AT rocket/ATGM launchers, - have missions, where going loud, suppressing fire, grenade launchers, etc. have a tactical advantage over stealth, - implement proper CQB mechanics - stacking, breaching, flashbangs, clearing - friendly AI can be semi-scripted. - enemies with different levels of training, using different semi-scripted tactics - supporting fire, bounding, as opposed to rushing headlong into your bullets (unless those are untrained tangos) These would rely on mission design, rather than overhauling friendly AI, etc., so should be easy to implement. A lot of people I've talked to want old-school AI squad control micromanagement, but honestly, I think it may turn off the casual players. If they implement the above mechanics, the game will already be miles ahead of what they have now, while still being easy for anyone to get into. Sorry for the rant, but I've been thinking about this stuff lately.

I loved Wildlands. Loved it. Breakpoint surprised me and I eventually learnt to love it. However, we have to consider something here. The Publishers. Games like Call of Duty, FIFA and GTA, are creating games for an initial charge we pay, and then sucking the player into a HUGE world of micro transactions, making the publishers 10x the amount of profit. These Publishers have found the way to make more money. So other publishers are trying to find new ways relevant to the game. Ubisoft tried this with Breakpoint and it failed. They tried it with their 3rd adaptation of the game, release the trailer and it was widely revolted against, so they abolished it. Went back to Breakpoint and tailored it to our needs to keep us happy, meanwhile right now, they’ll be developing another game to try and involve more micro transactions. Sadly, Wildlands was perfect for most of us. But it won’t be for them, the publishers. They’ll want to squeeze more money out of it for as long as other game devs like COD and GTA are making billions.

Yes, you're right. As the trend of the game industry in recent years shows, everyone started making games solely for the sake of making money, not for the sake of players. If you know what I mean. That's why we so often start getting games that are underdeveloped on release. And that are filled with a hundred minitransactions inside the game. And FPS story campaigns turn into garbage, because it's easier for publishers to make money on multiplayer and Battle Royals🤦🏽‍♂️

I love the models, animations, and mechanics of Breakpoint, but I hate the very limited world and setting itself. I just want the mechanics and animations and such of Breakpoint, and put them in a Wildlands setting. I miss being hidden in plain sight. Being able to drive from one end of the map to the other without hardly getting into a firefight or chase was fun and very immersive. I miss it. In Breakpoint, you have to either fly absolutely everywhere, or fast travel. Just forget about hopping in a land vehicle and driving to your destination, unless you want to just keep getting shot at the entire trip.

You as well(The Force). I didn’t realize that it has been since 2019 and I just finished 98percent of the game. I still play it just for the fun that you mentioned in the video. sadden they removed the Terminator Mission and was hoping for the Predator to be part of the game. I personally didn’t care for the Wildlands due to it being a real life situation in this world and being so close to my Texas borders. I’m a Mexican American and felt good doing good for that game but I really liked the direction Breakpoint with the future story. I would have preferred the Hitman list like in Wildlands. I really would like a Ghost Recon in Texas or Urban areas.

I remember when Wildlands came out. I grew up in the original Xbox, was back in the 2000s, and the first tactical shooter I ever played was Ghost Recon 2 lol It sucked, I was bad at it, but I stayed with it, and I eventually got the concept. It was really cool playing a video game that was a lot less hand-holdy than a conventional corridor shooter like Halo (which I also grew up on and loved). Having to navigate between different objectives, plan your attacks and movements, seemed to add a little cerebral activity to the experience, and I thought it was really cool. Future Soldier, while still a tunnel shooter, was really cool. I liked the technology, the characters, the gunplay felt great, and the Gunsmith they introduced was really well executed and many shooters have followed its example since. Setting up on a bipod and popping skulls or hoding down a lane with an LMH felt really cool. So when they announced that Wildlands was taking the franchise open-world, I was pumped. Out of all the franchises Ubisoft has tried to cramp into an open world, Ghost Recon seemed like obvious candidate. It would enhance the aspects of Ghost Recon that made it fun (gunplay, low TTK, tactical navigation and maneuver) to a whole new level! The moment I realized that the game was going to be a gong show, however was trying to find out where I needed to go to slap a bipod on my rifle. After digging around, I discovered that in place of a bipod, the game had a skill tree, and one of the skills effectively replaced the need for a bipod. And because every modern game needs microtransactions, you could buy boosters to go down the skill tree faster. How incredibly lame. Not having access to bipods isn't necessarily a big deal by itself. But in a tactical shooter that builds itself on a sim-lite experience, and considering they had a perfectly suitable bipod mechanic in Future Soldier, and considering the fact that a stable weapons platform would be much more important for the longer distances of Wildlands than Future Soldier, having that immersion and mechanic stripped out simply to justify selling a couple bucks worth of XP boosters left a sour taste in my mouth. I played Wildlands, and I enjoyed it a bit. But the obvious game changes to facilitate microtransactions and the feeling that the game was *almost* perfect, sitting on the edge of being a solid experience eluded me for a while. And then when they announced and then released Breakpoint, which seemed to fix none of Wildlands' issues and added to its problems, I didn't even bother buying it. Ghost Recon has been a huge part of my life, I love the franchise. But Breakpoint was the first game in the series that I didn't buy. Despite it looking amazing, having fantastic gunplay, and functioning in an open world. Everything else stinks. Every time I wonder if I should buy it, I watch other people play it, and I remember why I'm keeping my money for better games. If Ubisoft wants to get my money, they can give me back my game. Gameplay first, microtransactions second. And give me my goddamn bipods lol

As the game stands now, it is literally the best game in the past 5 years for me. It has so much to do with top tier mechanics and customization I don't see how anyone could say it to be "not enough" Ubisoft has a winning formula here all they need to do is take what they have developed and expand and create more interesting environments. As was mentioned in the video a more city Centre would be fantastic similar to say 'Ready or Not' but with an open world doing missions very tactically would be fantastic.

Camouflage costumes do add stealth, meaning it does work, blending into the environment, not just hiding in the bush and or cover yourself in dirt, instead of just being cosmetic appearance. . Wildlands is a much better game overall but BP does have better graphics as it should as it's a newer title but everything else in the game just didnt belong and doesn't make me feel like a SOF operator whereas Wildlands does. BP fans love it for the Splinter Cell style combat but that isnt GR im afraid. Seriously & it shouldn’t be taking too much damage from small arms fire. Defeats the purpose of having a rocket trooper. Might as well add back the car shield perk to make it more durable. Some of environment is even harder for APC to move around. Sometimes, choppers are useless in said areas. They had such good ideas but just poor execution. For example the cutting torch was cool but almost no fences were breach able, they also had less customization then wildlands and most of the “cool” gear was locked behind micro transitions as well as when the game first launched there was a gear level similar to the division which luckily they changed. Hopefully if they make a new ghost recon they’ll acknowledge some of this stuff.

I do not mind the futuristic drone tech in the game at all. The tech in game is very close to what they can do now. The real problem was that the game felt sterile, and not lived in. Also, the AI in Breakpoint has gotten worse, more limited in its cope and abilities than in Wildlands. UBI did a great job addressing many of the criticism. The new game mode is great. But still, they need to add more interesting enemy actions and interactions with friendlies. I would like to see vehicles driving around, people living their lives. I also want enemies to hunt me. I want them to call in reinforcements, see trucks and helicopters arrive that unload more enemy troops. etc. I want to see more intriguing convoys I can intercept.

I love this game, even though when I first played it I quit for over a year, after 2 hours of play. It appeared to be a crappy clone of The Division, which I hate, with it's neon light shooting from the ground and bullet-sponge enemies, and idiotic gear levels, etc. But then immersive mode appeared, and I've been playing ever since. I now play in what I call 'the game within a game' mode. I make up my own games. Currently I'm using my universal rule of fast travel only between bivouacs, not to a bivouac. My character is an ex CIA spook who hitched a ride on one of the choppers, and now finds himself in deep caca. He cannot enter Erewhon, or buy or sell anything, anywhere. He can use bivouacs, but not the buying and selling. He has to live off the land, and craft what he needs, and use only items that he can acquire in game. No help. The goal is to raise 100,000 credits so he can bribe one of his cartel contacts to smuggle him off the island in a narco submarine. This is all in extreme difficulty, with minimal HUD. It is complete freedom to go and do anything that is possible under the parameters that I've set. I really like it. Some missions are still available if wanted, but the goal remains to get the money and sneak off the island. If you want to skip the Erewhon quests, you could go for getting all skill points, or all of the weapons blueprints from various locations. These are fun ways to play also, and provide a lot of freedom. If you are tired of the quests [ as you have done them many times ], and want a different approach, but still like the game play, the use your imagination to create your own games within the main game. It's fun.

This game was amazing, i still play this game till this day. I don’t see how they ruined it, I know game these days come out undone which sucks. I agree with Ubisoft making kinda lifeless style cuz the island is in lockdown in someways so not much people have freedom them. I do agree with you that they could have added more to the game and I wish they did and I wish they did take some features from wildlands. Like my favourite putting your gun away I love that feature. Anyhow, this game did amazing job for what it is, all the hate for this game is cuz people expected so much from it and wanted it to be like wildlands so much when they played it and it was different in its own way… everyone freaked out. If they made the exacted same game as wildlands I wouldn’t see this game going really far, I’m happy that they went this direction and how they made this game but I do wish they didn’t focus on the future so much maybe if they did it like future soldier and a bit of wildlands then that would have been a top tier game. However the mechanics and gameplay of this game is amazing and the atmosphere is just beautiful. I do wish they added a customization like feature soldier and upgraded it from there. The AI teammates are good, I mean they do need a little more work but there good, they shoot only when you tell them to and when combat starts, there aim can definitely be improved and how they move can definitely be improved. I do wish they can add a feature where you can tell them to move there and defend that spot and if you choose to put another teammate there you can, while the other one fights with you and the other two and defending or shooting long range. Any how. I don’t wanna write to much but there’s many things that can improve and since there just starting there open world ghost recon I’ll sit here and wait until they learn and from there games or they need to learn to not rush the game and take a little bit more time. Wildlands was good but it was the same as breakpoint they both need work and hopefully this time around the game with be want it wants to be and not updating 2 years down the line.

This incredible game tries to achieve something very rare in the gaming world: Acknowlege Nature. This game is RIFE with Nature, from the Earth-friendly wind turbines spinning in the breeze along the shorelines, the gulls squawking overhead as they wheel through the sky, the insects that fly around in every biome of the Island, the sheep and goats and deer and rabbits that are scampering around absolutely everywhere......I mean, as far as a LIVING WORLD goes? Auroa has it in spades. Are the human characters weak and wooden? Yes! But I keep coming back to the game for the incredibly rich flora and fauna, and the wicked tactical stealth-oriented gameplay. In addition to the theme of the Environment and the importance of protecting it, we are treated with real world themes on AI, Transhumanism, biological terrorism, and more. Like WOW. I really do hope they surprise us all and come back with a Breakpoint 2.0. 9/10.

Wow, very interesting and informative review! Thanks for it man. It's really nice to see you appreciate this game so much. Yes, I agree that the world of Auroa Island is done very nicely. And as said in the video, I can even see why they made the choice to go with technology. They just didn't manage to get the perfect combination: nature, technology, and being filled with people's lives. Really appreciate your feedback and would really appreciate it if you check out my latest work on Breakpoint. I think you'll definitely like it😌🤝

With 2000 + hours in Breakpoint and more hours in Wildlands, I prefer Wildlands it is a far better game of the 2.

I fully agree that Ubisoft ruined the game. I play also Tarkov and Breakpoint screamed survival and looting tarkov all the time at me. But what UBI did? Add flower picking to boost your stats lol... and of course added colored items it is just insane. The island itself was imho pretty well made, but the life was not implemented. Also GR story mode needs world where you see impact of your actions with manual option to reset enemies etc... it needs manual saving etc... I honestly hate the way it works in Ubi games. You die you respawn along your enemies. It is just dumb.

BP is the only game i play, i love the free roaming open world spec ops game, for me it's a shame that there probably won't be another GR like it, same graphics and play but on a map 2 or 3 times bigger than BP would be awesome but hey ho and they could have easily included hold triangle to stow weapons, don't know why they didnt do that and direct individual AI squad members like the old Navy Seals game would be cool too. ❤️🇬🇧

@LugovoisesGames ahhh fair enough mate. Dont worry about what i said then, learning a new language is pretty hard so i completely understand why you did it this way, im looking forward to you been able to voice it yourself so we hear your emotion when talking. Possibly see if you can adjust the tone of the ai voice so it has more variety to the tone and helps convey emotion as well as breaks up the flat monotone sound of the ai voice that for me would make it alot easier to listen to. Anything you can do to make it so its not just the same volume and flat tone the entire time would be a big improvement. If there is nothing you can do about that then so be it thats all good.

So Breakpoint was supposed to be a pure tactical survival game ? damn you ubisoft
@LugovoisesGames
@LugovoisesGames 9 ай бұрын
Maybe not completely, but survival apparently had to have a colossal impact on all gameplay. I think it would be cool to build gameplay around the fact that we have limited supplies of everything and periodically need to get food, medical supplies, and ammo.

I have wrote a list of improvements. I ask die hard and loyal fans of the Ghost Recon series. To contribute theirs too. I want real life weaponry NAMES. And real life attachments. Let us choose, what attachments can be placed on your weapon, without restriction. If someone wants 2 IR Laser Illuminating devices on the rifle. Give it to them. Strategic planning before and during missions. Can command AI team, to man a second vehicle and offer support. Glocks please. Have advertisement for military purpose brands and gear. Where you can observe your personal choice or love/like for certain products. Such as PMAGS or CTR Stocks. Give info about the manufacturer, when they were established. What products they do. Make it as complete and complex. Allow nation Flags and Other Military forces insignia to be positioned on the Battle Uniforms at the same time. Allow IR strobe light on helmets, can be turned on or off. Removed completely or always attached. Can hide your flag/unit insignia from view by velcro. From a quick menu. Goggles or other items can be placed on helmet. Allow Battle Uniform Sleeves in different sizes cuts. Allow height and weight of individual members. Non robotic actions from AI team. Meaning, they'll stop to get medical attention or ask for help with injury. Allow AI to eat or drink. By supplementing with different food options. Allow player to eat or drink at any time. Make use of hydration gear such as Camelbac equipment. Seeing player or AI taking in water in warm weather or after a long run/jog/walk. Have a system similar to Red Dead Redemption 2, if being out in frozen blizzards or severe rain or other type of weather. As it plays a significant role in choosing time of day or weather conditions. More than 4 Ghosts. Ideally 6 man team. Being able to clear hostile buildings and other areas with swift precision and professionalism. Can control or request actions from AI squad, such as keep overwatch or suppressors on weapons only. Allow AI to drain out ammunition. Making AI and players save their own ammo. Play an important part of Hostile behaviour from engaging players when outnumbered by them. So AI will retreat and seek cover without restriction. Allow hostiles to run out of ammunition. As they seek to get ammo elsewhere. Allow calling Hostile enemies to surrender, without murdering them. Hostile enemy will also throw their weapons and give up to the players team. Allow Hostile as well as friendly forces to miss targets. Not all shots fired would be 99% accurate. Allow diving deep into waters, to place demolition charges on installations. Allow dynamic change of mission parameters, if an enemy commander is Killed in Action. The mission is not considered a failure, another enemy officer can be taken for questioning. Allow friendly fire. Requiring proper care and conduct at all times. Meaning. Failing M.S.D. or Minimum Safe Distance from explosive charge explosions has repercussions. Allow light or IR light usage. Light or torch can be placed on rifles, but may give position away to enemy. When opening a world map the player can be seen crouching over a map, for directions. AI team members check their own weapons and supplies. AI Team members joke and talk with each other. More than one line. AI team members can challenge themselves or orders from player. And may advise a different type of action. Asking to clear a building with 30+ known and unknown hostile forces, AI will advise against it or suggest another alternative plan of execution. Weather conditions play a major role. If weather is nasty with high winds or torrential rain, guards or other soldiers will not be standing outside. But seeking shelter from bad weather conditions. Making mission more dynamic and evolving to weather conditions. If weather is dry and sunny less security will be inside of facilities. Making areas inside buildings easily accessible for gaining access to critical data or paperwork. Prioritise data gathering information about targets or other factors associated with current enemy as winning conditions. Allow player to separate 6 man team into three 2 man team or two 3 man teams. Emphasize on working as a unit of highly skilled professional combatants. Allow AI members to dynamically control situations. If player's decision making isn't good, they'll be able to help by making advice or supporting the player 2 man team from taking heavy fire in firefight. Allow hostages or High Value Targets to display emotions. Such as anger, distress, disappointment, distrust or happiness. Allow high ranked hostile commanding officers to resist capture or try to run or attack player even when bound. If hostile officer is left unattended, they will try to break free. And seek out nearest camp or grounds to hide in. Enemy firing from helicopters aren't deadly accurate even when helicopter is on fire and about to crash. Allow AI member to fly instead of player a helicopter and even aircraft. Allow AI member to drive instead of player a car, jeep, armoured vehicle or boat. Allow player to call for medical attention when injured or hurt. Allow emphasis to heal and close wounds off or bleeding from injury. Rather than being revived from near-death.

I honestly don't know why but I love this game and hate it at the same time. I played through the entire game with all DLC stuff and then started a second run in the immersive mode. The "Operation Motherland" DLC at the very End of the first run made me love it, because the AI was still stupid, but the enemies where a lot stronger now, they made you at least change you'r gameplay, because most Bodarks couldn't be killed with one headshot or where almost invisible and so on. But the immersive mode is actually really nice, still don't get why this wasn't in the game from the beginning. The RPG-like stats and stuff for weapons just felt missplaced all the time. Drones also where annoying af, it's not helpful for the immersion when the enemies drones are more of a threat then the enemie themselves :D

Breakpoint should have been set to Afghanistan. Bolivia in Wildlands with drug cartels was awesome story. Dismantling terrorist cells in Afghnistan in Breakpoint would be much better storyline than some hi-tech nonsense on Auroa.

I’m not sure what you mean when you say “the game destroyed by Ubisoft”, from what I’ve seen online and experienced while playing the game has only gotten better with each update, arguably the only way ubi destroyed it was by stopping the updates like not adding a second raid and so on

Look, I'm one of those people that no matter what, I love this game and have never hated it. However, I also believe that this game had tremendous potential, which Ubisoft not only didn't realize, but simply buried by discontinuing support for the game.
