I used to joke about my staffie that "He's a good dog, just not a smart one." Because he was always doing silly things on walks when he got excited, like running into fences fetching his ball. He is amazing! Great job with all those tricks! I'm really impressed :D I have had a STB for 13 years, lost her in May 2021, she never left my side and i was completly devasted.. I'm a 44 year old grown man, but i cried and screamed like a wounded animal the day returned from the vet without her.. :( But in 2½ weeks time, i will get my next STB, 8 weeks old puppy.. i cant wait! For me, a home without a STB is just a house...

I've been around this breed for almost 20 years now and I have to say that you won the lottery with this guy. I mean his intelligence and willingness to please is on par of a Belgian Malinois. Our bully breeds tend to be more stubborn compared to others. Is he food or toy driven? Truly inspiring pair you are.

I’ve had pedigree SBTs all my life. Family has bred them since the 1950s, my gran got a SBT in Liverpool after WW2 and that was it. The family dog. I’ve got two now, litter siblings, 10 yo. My brother is a well known breeder of staunch pedigree dogs. It’s weird, of all the staffies we’ve had - me, my bro (we’re in our 50s), our mum & dad, gran & grandpa, cousins - I would say probably only one in six or seven Staffords have had a strong propensity towards tricks. But when you do get a dog that enjoys performing like your excellent staffy, boy oh boy do they get into it, it’s all they want to do. The family has had three or four dogs over the years that were pretty good at agility, one little bitch in particular was a sometime champion agility dog thanks to a nephew who put many hours of training into her. A few more that loved to learn new tricks. But the vast majority of our dogs couldn’t be bothered! The two I have now are an excellent example of Yeah, whatever, we’re off to hunt rats in the stables. All they want to do is hunt, sleep in my bed and of course cuddle. I think tricks are a bit like swimming - by no means all of our staffies have enjoyed swimming out of their depth but every now and then one comes along that just cannot get enough of it. Anyway your dog looks like a champ and good on you for giving him so much time & love. Great job.
