Albeniz, Granados, deFalla, Turina,... Spain has given us many wonders.

Isaac Albeniz was well known in Spanish speaking countries during the XXth century. This CD of piano sonatas and the delightful Suites Anciennes shows an accomplished composer with respect for older composers, well versed in piano composition, a classical romantic. An excellent rendering by the pianist Sebastian Stanley. Thanks Brilliant Classics for uploading.

These beautiful pieces reveal a composer who is imaginative, romantic, and very sophisticated with melodic line and harmonic progression. It is a feast for the ears, heart, and soul. The pianist here picks up on this and brings it all to life in a masterful performance that is well recorded. Thank you so much for posting this.

Wonderful to see all the positive comments in various languages -- though I must oil my very rusty russian! - and, as we used to say in Yorkshire, the music is reet grand! - especially the gorgeous fifth sonata.

Wunderschöne und lyrische Interpretation dieser drei kompakten doch perfekt komponierten Klaviersonaten und zwei ebenso kompakten doch fein komponierten Suiten in verschiedenen Tempi mit klar artikuliertem doch etwas anmutigem Anschlag und perfekt kontrollierter Dynamik. Wahrlich intelligenter und genialer Pianist!

Felicitaciones! A Brilliant Classics por su excelente grabación. Estas bellas sonatas de Albéniz les falta más difusión. Tienen una estructura cien porciento muy melodiosa en cada uno de los movimientos de las sonatas. Uno está acostumbrado a la estructura clásica de los otros compositores. Sobresaliendo las de Chopin y otros compositores románticos. Sin embargo, las de Albéniz son meramente hermosos. Nunca visto en la forma sonata tradicional. Reciba saludos desde México.
