To all the people disappointed : This song is out as a single rn, it's to promote the album, so it will be one of the most "mainstream" songs of the album, so be patient and wait for the next songs to be released bc I think that this scream can be precursory of heaviest tracks Edit : Of course these are just my thoughts and what I expect, but I'm confident and positive about this album Edit 2 : Even if the new album would not be too heavy, I still think I'll like it, because Bring Me' always put out music that you've never heard before, and even if the songs are not too heavy, it's still good music, and the most important thing about music, which can tell if it's good or not, is it's ability to share emotions through the lyrics and the music

I wouldn’t really count on it. I actually think that scream might be one of the “heaviest” parts of the album. And it might be there just to satisfy a little those who were hoping for a heavier sound. Either way, I’m excited for this new BMTH album!

You can say that, but everyone was the same when the first single of That's The Spirit came out, supposedly everyone said it was the mainstream song, but at the end the album was soft, and there wasn't any expected heavy song.

You guys gotta realize that there is a limit to how much screaming lyrics someone's voice can take. Yes, they're music has changed. Stop telling them to go back to what they were before and let them continue to move forward. Personally, this is one of my favorite songs. Oli, just keep up the good work!!

@@m_j50 i felt like the heaviest song on Spirit was true friends but thats just me... also some general comments 1.) a song doesn't have to be heavy to be good, people forget that and 2.) i think the new album does have potential go in a heavier direction, going off what the single had to offer but it's really just too early to say. I don't adore music genres.. I adore the band. So, whatever they have changed, they'll always sound great for me. 'Cause BMTH is BMTH, no matter in deathcore, nu metal, or even pop. They'll make the genre that you dislike sounds great :)

Old isn't better, new isn't better... but you can't deny, everything BMTH does is very interesting. I like this song a lot and I can see them throwing another orchestra backed shindig with this song a cornerstone of the setlist. Well done guys and well done on the lyrics too, you've come of age.

ShiivaWilding I agree. They have the talent and conceptual creativity to pull off so many different things. I am paying attention and intrigued no matter what direction they go. The arrangements are not as “cookie cutter” as as the diehard deathcore fans complain about and the content is interesting.

As a Christian who loves hard rock, I can tell you that most rock is /not/ Satanic. Not even close. Of you listen to a lot of it very closely, you'll see that the artist speaks the truth. Not to mention that God (the Christian God) spoke to, and saved my step-father through heavy rock!

From my opinion yes they have changed, but for some reason I'm absolutely in love whatever they create they bring up something new every now and then! I think it's interesting to see how they evaluate over time. This is what true artists are like. I really do love them more and more by every time they do something!!!

As much as I loved their old music style, this is good. There are some people that are upset about it and want the "old BMTH" back, but they're not really happy making that type of music anymore. I will admit I like the metal-core better, but I like the lyrics; just the beat has to grow on me a bit with this one. Overall it's great,

In the kerrang mag that came out today, it was obviously a bmth exclusive. And in the interview they all said that they wanted to go with a different style but still have that rock in there. They also said thats the spirit was all pre planned and they knew exactly what they were doing. And they said with the new album theyre just winging it. They again said that, like thats the spirit, theyre trying new styles out and see how it works out. I dont understand why people are making such a big fuss about it. You dont see many singers creating the same style and the same sound of music for every album they release. Thats what bring me are doing. Thats the spirt was different and the new album is gonna be different. Oli cant really go back to the count your blessing era because he damaged his vocal chords because he never learned how to scream the right way. So they are sort of going around that. And creating rock music just not as heavy as it was. Its most likely gonna be a mix between sempiternal and TTS. But they also said that they're creating this new sound to widen the variety of what can be considered rock. So this doesnt really class as pop. Its still rock just different to what we know. Sorry for this being so long but thats everything i know! 😊😅

Before the band released That's the spirit Oli got out of rehab for a self admitted drug problem and decided he doesn't like the metalcore style they did for Suicide season, There is a hell, and Sempiternal so they changed their style. Personally I'm upset that they aren't doing the heavier stuff anymore, but I like what they're doing now.

something I learned from listening to bands that don't really adjust to one specific genre is that music is what it is, you can try to label it but at the end of the day it doesn't really matter. I'm glad bmth continues to navigate through sounds and find its own style, I'm glad they're still together. people who claim to know a lot about deathcore, post-hardcore, pop, rap, jazz, whatever -and don't knowledge any other music style just because it's not of their liking it's actually pretty ignorant. it's okay if you don't like it, but that doesn't mean no one else does nor does it mean it's bad. as I said, it is what it is, music, art, nothing else.

I disagree that by continuing to make metal albums they would have dissatisfied their audience. Every album BMTH released was different from their last album and they still remained within the metal genre. TTS and this new album are not written for metal fans, they're written for radio. they're written just to appeal to the masses. I feel their new albums TTS and this one (i cant remember the name) lack emotion.

Just because they are experimenting with new sounds doesn't mean they are 'sellouts' It means they are progressing with their music, the band are older and probably do not want to stick with their old sound anymore and want to try out new things. Being 'experimental' and 'sellout' are two incredibly different things.

he can scream at some point, but he doesn't want to scream anymore and that's the deal. if you look at his spotify list you can see there's a lot of pop, electronic and indie music on it. this song reflects what he likes now and to be honest i like it, i don't listen the same shit what i used to and for me it's really cool to see how this band it's constantly growing and growing. Yes, we all miss the old dark vibe (im not gonna lie) but im happy that they still make cool music like this.

BMTH has change for the better. They did deathcore, a poor deathcore, and then they did great metalcore albums. Maybe last album wasn't metalcore anymore, neither this one, but That's The Spirit was good and I'm sure this is gonna be a great album too because Oliver's voice is really unique and his lyrics are something that fits in the life of many peoople like they do in mine.
