With their seventh studio length album, Bring Me the Horizon continue to bring together just about every genre they can possibly find from their discography, all while moving into a new direction of accessibility and catchiness. With Jordan Fish still having a great amount of influence on this record, and big collaborators like Lil Uzi Vert, Underoath and Aurora, how does this nearly hour long BMTH album stack up against the others--and, ultimately, on its own?

I don’t think it’s their best work, especially in regards to the mixing, but they always hit it out of the park regardless. We were told well ahead of time that PH2 would serve as an experimental album and the way they brought that about was fantastic. Dig It is the song that best showcase of Oli’s talent out of every single song they’ve made.

It was everything I wanted and yet completely different from what I expected at the same time. Honestly thats what a bmth album should be. Doing wierd stuff other bands are too afraid to or wouldn't even want to

I need to give this album some time, it’s definitely one of those LPs that doesn’t really hit on first listen. Mainly because my favorite songs are the singles we already heard. Statues that cried blood is great though. It’s definitely an unusual album

Yeah BMTH have an issue imo with spoiling too much of the album with singles. That's the Spirit had that issue lmao it's a weird combo fs. And statues is awesome, I'm so glad that we are seeing so many people give it the love it deserves

I loved the album but I think the new 7 songs are way too different to the first 6, like day and night difference, probably because of jordan leaving
@TheMetalTempestYT
@TheMetalTempestYT 2 ай бұрын
Exactly--that's what I tried to highlight at the start. It's hard to define his impact vs. not, considering he had presence on so much of this album still but then didn't at all on other songs. It's wacky haha
@carolinecoy3164
@carolinecoy3164 2 ай бұрын
Well the 1st 6 singles were very different also. Die4u, strangers and AmEN? They sound nothing alike. It may sound different,but it works somehow. And Jordan leaving had absolutely nothing to do with anything. Watch Jordans last interview. It's an hour long. Where he said,all the music decisions are oli's and always have been. Oli asked Jordan to join for that reason. Even count your blessings next to there is a hell is a huge difference. Jordan wasn't in the band then. They've always changed up their sound. And the band has always made every album completely different to the last. Jordan would have been happy with releasing any old sh"t as long as it sounded ok. His own words,not mine. It's just a coincidence that it all changed again when Jordan joined. But not his decision at all. BMTH music has always been plus vision. And I love that they always sound different. I'd be bored as hell if they were still making deathcore albums.nir even the Sempiternal sound over and over. But I like variety in my music. Some don't

There’s a lot of bmth meatriders. I’ve been a fan since 08. Been with them through all the change. Been completely open to all of their experimental energy!! I can’t get into this one. It seems like a convoluted mess. I liked LosT, but everything else, idk. PHNG just doesn’t stick the landing.

In the grand scheme of things I totally get where you're coming from. But given he was the main person who introduced electronics into the sound and how his imprint is still on this album, I think we'll have to see the next project from them to confirm that haha

@@TheMetalTempestYTsorry to correct you, but Oli introduced everything. Jordan said so in his last few interviews. Oli brought Jordan on for that reason. Jordan just did what Oli asked. He was more concerned what the fans think,where as Oli didn't care. He just wants to make the music he wants. Jordan is more basic. As in would be happy with the 1st thing Oli came up with. But Oli would start over on stuff because he was so fussy.

Yeah my fear was that its just gonne be the songs we have heard already mixed with like two new ones. But I was pleasantly suprised. Ive been listening this album the whole day I must admit.... it might be my favorite from them right now. New songs are amazing and even the singles blend in seemlesly. R.I.P might be the only iffy song for me but its not BAD by any means.

Digital mess is a good way to phrase a lot of stuff. I love a lot of the electronic shit because I do enjoy electronicore and metalcore music with that sort of stuff, so hearing BMTH in their more accessible era leaning more into it, I don't mind it too much. But even then, some of it is a bit over the top with stuff.

For me it was kind of daunting mostly because I was just thinking about the fact that Jordan isn't in the band anymore. You can actually notice the difference in songs. But there are some some that I did like. Some felt like they were missing something, but like I said before it was the fact that Jordan wasn't in the song production. I think he's the Mike Shinoda of the band and an in house producer. But I sure hope that the band does well without him. I really enjoy every album that this band puts out regardless of the music genre.
