I went to see them in 2011. I was walking around before the show. Oli and Lee snuck out the back of the venue and I fanboy'd pretty hard screaming their names and asked if they would mind taking a photo. They were so nice. Oli didn't hesitate to say hey and chat a bit.

HOW AM I THE ONLY ONE TO NOTICE THIS 5:18 States weird events on Wikipedia page including the pissing on the girl 5:29 Drummer says "true, true, true" Gruhamed says "some guy must of been like "'I'm oli, pissed on her and ran away"" Then look at what Oli does with the nudge and the look to the drummer at 5:40 He was not happy, lmao. Wow.

I'm Christian, and even I agree tht was a dick move to try to force Oli to have a religious outlook on his problems. "Kind suggestions" are way more effective than "forced faith". That's sad that he was treated like that. He's such a cool guy.

Okay. So I'm just basically going to say what's on my mind. Yes, when I first listened to That's The Spirit, I was disappointed. The sound was SO different from Sempiternal, almost a 180 difference. I only really liked Avalanche. But then I got to reading the whole concept behind the album. In Sempiternal Oli faced a lot of depression and substance abuse, and it with any music, it reflects the band's state of mind. The songs had no positivity, but not that anyone cared because the tracks were fucking good. After sempiternal, the band went through some of their hardest times. Oli finally went to rehab, and came out better last year, his life was filled with so much hope and positivity. He had Hannah, he had his band again, his family, everything. he didn't "wanna fucking scream anymore; (he) wanted to sing it through the rooftops." That's The Spirit is a reflection of that. And yes, they know their music has changed. in fact, 'Happy Song' is a parody of that. The thing is, if you keep making the same thing, and doing the same thing for years, people grow tired, you grow tired. Music isn't about that. Its about creating new things and finding yourself through it. Once I understood this, and really listened to That's The Spirit, I loved it, because behind the music and behind the lyrics, I could see every thing they were trying to express and it is fucking beautiful. If you think what I'm saying is shit, that's fine. Please just don't leave a trashy hate comment not because I'll get hurt or whatever, but because you would be insulting every single thing BMTH ever did for themselves.

In almost every interview I've seen with them they've ALWAYS acted kind of standoff ish. That's just how they are. A lot of bands are like that. I thought this interview was great; they engaged pretty well and the interviewer didn't seem to just only talk to Oli. One of the better interviews I've seen.

BMTH is one of my favorite bands. Throne is freaking awesome. "I'll leave you chokin', on every word you left unspoken, rebuild all that you've broken - and now you know !!!". GOD I love that part of the song. Video is not too bad, although I'm not 100% big on the whole medieval knights, kings and queens types of music videos - but it goes awesome with the song, so huge shout out to BMTH !!!! Cool concept.

They're music still carries a message and many emotions. They are still amazing despite the fact that Oli doesn't growl. I find it to be an accomplishment for them to recognise that there was a need for a slight alteration in the way they display these emotions and thoughts. They found a way to keep their concepts of what they wanted to share with their fans while reaching an audience that even I thought was impossible yet I still hoped for it. They achieved what many could not and we should be proud that they are doing what they love and not what the audience wants. We must also remember they are humans and will not do everything their fans will like. They are not some celestial beings that we idolise as something more than they really are... No one really likes change but resenting it will not change it back or make it disappear - rather just accept it

I relate to Oliver so much, i'm 18 and I also suffer from a lot of sleep paralysis since I was a kid, and thats exactly what I do. you have to breath really heavy because it feels like there is no air and its so scary. I though it was just me but i'm so happy to know that im not the only one.. not like its good for him to have it or anything I just thought it wasn't normal and I was scared something was wrong with me... is it normal though?
