The transformation for tagging out between Kazuya and Devil is such a genius touch.

Kazuya spent Tekken 3 having a lava nap. He dreamt of making his dad take his own lava nap one day. Then he woke up in Tekken 4 and made his dreams a reality in Tekken 7. We should be more like Kazuya.

Alas, this would be the last time we'd have "YERK!" and "TWAH!" from Kazuya. Speaking of, Kazuya and Devil are kind of nuts in this game, though not good on the same team, ironically enough. Twin Pistons is a mid launcher, like it always is, but is 10 frames and completely safe in this game for some bizarre reason. I hope the schoolyard and snow stage tracks make it into Smash. It's funny to me how Unknown being Jun was a fan theory for years then Bamco just said, "Why not?", and made it "canon" in Tag 2.

TTT hands down had the best intro music.

Tekken 3 was how i feel in love with tekken i went back and played the other 2, personally i love tekken 4 or 5 the most, but Tekken tag holds a massive special place in my heart, countless hrs more than any other Tekken, AND i still have my original ps2 copy which still works Tekken Tag did so much for the series going forward.

Tekken Tag 1 should be completely up Smash players's alley, this game is one hell of a party.

I agree with Max that this is Tekken Tag Tournament is the game where Kazuya came into his own. I played as hims a lot when I bought TTT. Also, you are right when it came to the graphic improvement from the previous Tekken games. I still have my PS3 and watch this video made my buy a used copy of Tekken Hybrid ( the PS3 release with TTT & TTT2). I still have TTT2, but I sold my PS2 with TTT. So, it’ll be nice to have the first TTT again.

Soooo many fond memories of playing this in high school with a few friends. Me and Steven teamed up against a pair of brothers and whooped their asses pretty much every time. Most time I've ever put into a Tekken game, and I can tell it's still damn fun and stands up even today.

Tekken Tag and Tekken 3 were my favorite Tekken games, man. Tekken Force and Tekken Bowl, not to mention the actual fighting....take me back.

Jin was actually not the only one with the EWGFs in Tag 1. Heihachi also had those, although his electricity worked slightly different. Instead of sparking just before impact, like in the EWGFs everybody knows, Heihachi's EWGF has the second spark appear while the hit connects. Heihachi also got the just frame version of his Thunder God Fist in Tag 1 (f,N,d,D/F+1), which upon impact causes a lot of electricity sparks to appear.

Awwwwwww yeah, Tag 1, my very first Tekken game, courtesy of my cousins. We played so much back then, even down to actually having a PS2 Multi-tap. Kazuya actually was one of my go-to’s, even though I freaking sucked at the game. The soundtrack is extremely nostalgic for me, and makes me hopeful some of them will get into Smash.
