They do not build vehicles to last nowadays! They're completely overpriced that Jeep brand new back then was probably less than $2,000

Today Military Jeep is our public transport here in the philippines🇵🇭. We modified some left over jeep by americans after world war. We stretch the chasis and the body so that more people can ride in the jeep. Today the military jeep are we called it now jeepney. The word "jeep" in the "jeepney" is from the name of the vihicle itself while the "ney" is from the knee of the people ride the jeepney, because when the jeep is full load of passenger the knee of the passenger are stick together. Sorry for my english, I'm not good in grammar.

In the Philippines after the ww2 was over. Many of this was converted into a transport vehicle called JEEPNEY. At first, it was a 2 seater on both sides and later on, gradually the chassis was extended to make it longer to accommodate more passengers. Thanks USA

I think gauges should not be in vertical position as dash is.They have to be bent,so driver eyes can read speed correctly.for example:when speed at 50 miles, eyes read 51 or 52 mile. U hope you understand me.

We don't need 60 thousand dollar trucks we need simple, reliable, easy to repair, low cost vehicles, like this jeep today. Take note manufacturers, just like VW we need peoples vehicles. The base models should be practically this simple, then if folks need added features they can be dealer installed or self installed if so mechanically inclined.

We spent 2 years of “evenings” and about $15k restoring our 1946 model. We did a frame-up restoration but had to use replacement body as ours was rusted beyond repair. Cost did not include our labor. Beautiful piece of history and a definite head-turner everywhere we go!

Unions made the American auto industry less competitive. That's not the only thing, of course, but it's probably the single biggest. Several years back, I read that the overhead from US automakers was so much higher than that of Japanese automakers (whose US-based factories are in right to work states, and not unionized) that the cost to build, on average, was $3,000.00 more per vehicle. It's probably more now, as that figure is about 15 years old. This leaves the Big Three with a choice: build a vehicle just as good as a Honda or a Toyota, but it has to be priced higher, so they won't sell as many; or cut corners and lower the build quality in order to offer it at a competitive price, but now it won't hold up as well long term. Inevitably, they went with option two, as it doesn't become apparent until a vehicle has a few years on it that it just isn't as reliable or durable as the more solidly built Japanese cars. One of the smartest things workers in the American Honda and Toyota (and other foreign-owned car makers') factories have done is consistently refused UAW's efforts to get them to unionize.
