The California Beekeeper

Күн бұрын

In November of 2021, Beekeeper and Commercial Queen Breeder, Jose Uribe, heads out to our mountain yard to pick up our bees and bring them back down to the valley. When he gets to the yard, he finds evidence of a skunk in the yard.
If you are interested in placing a 2022 queen order with us, please email in at thecaliforniabeekeeper@gmail.com.
If you are new to our channel, welcome! We are a small family owned and operated micro-commercial apiary located in Northern California. We've been commercial beekeeping for the past 13 years, but branched off and opened Uribe Honey Bees in January of 2019, and then launched our KZfaq channel in April of 2020. We specialize in queen breeding, pollination services, hive management and brokering.
Thank you for watching and supporting us! We love you guys!

Jose, enjoyed meeting you my friend!! So....older man told me years ago that my back would be bad after lifting all those bombs and missiles loading those aircraft. But I was young and strong as kind of blew it off (and it was my job too). Now my back hurts just watching that video...lol!! There’s a lesson in that my young beekeeper brother.

Mike my friend, I really appreciate those words of experience and wisdom. I know that I need to be more careful in what I do and how I do it. I pray that 2022 brings more customers than ever so that we can invest in the proper equipment to make moving hives easier on the back. Mike next year we need to get all the YT guys to meet up for dinner. It would be a hoot🙌🏼

Hi mate, seen you on a few peoples vlogs from the hive life conference hope you enjoyed yourself there my friend it looked like a great success, I’m glad we don’t have skunks over here in the UK we do have badgers who can do a lot of damage to a wooden hive though, well it’s 6 degrees here today all my colonies are in winter mode I won’t be seeing them till March not like your Californian weather. Thank you for sharing your time in your apiary mate and keep your back straight.

The girls in a shed!?! That’s awesome Matthew, what is that costing per hive?
@matthewmccormick2417
@matthewmccormick2417 2 жыл бұрын
@@TheCaliforniaBeekeeper To cool the shed that can hold 3000 hives last month bill was aprox 180.00. For most parts its the inlet fants. and the inner building fans that cost atm. did have a spot where the thermo A/C kicked on to cool it down. when that happens its like running a big freezer lol. This is my first year running this big shed. last year was just a small unit that held 25 hives. I have to thank IAN Steppler for all the Shed info he has given and what he would change on his. It helped. so with hives in the shed atm being this was first year of growth it was 10.00 a hive for last month. next winter should be more as plan to be at over 500 hives and year after double that. the system is set up to handle up to 3000 hives includes honey house but at no time plan on more then 1500 to 2000 a year. This next spring i will sit back and watch Friend/farm owner and the crew do what i trained them this last year to do. It was great to have a friend take my girls over because if he hadnt they wouldnt be in health they are becaue of the car wreck.
