I got this case and an Asus Z690-E with the i9-12900k. I just wanted to say thank you for your details in this video that helped me get mine set up. It’s been about 10 years since I’ve built an entire system (rebuilding the inner parts don’t count lol). Also, I’m very fond of your voice and knowledge-I’ve seen some less than informative videos and they are much harder to listen to. And now that my build is completed, I also wanted to let you know (I’m sure loads of people have told you) that you are also very attractive due to the PC knowledge you have, easy to listen to voice, and your beauty. Fantastic build. I have the same case and currently building mine as we speak. Got the motherboard and cooler installed with the M-2 SSD and CPU. Halfway there but the difficult part would be is putting all of the cords into the motherboard.

I’m pretty sure this case is specially built for the 1200W Thor PSU, maybe that one comes with a longer CPU cable?

QUESTION: 29:57 that is the argb connection right not rgb as it is 3 pin? also i see in 29:36 she only connected one of the usb 3 connectors so does that mean only 2 of the usb front panel will work? as this mobo doesnt have a second usb3 connector?

Can Arctic Liquid Freezer II or III be used with the Asus Rog Helios case? Since the radiator is thick, can it be used in the upper part of the case? Radiator + fan thickness is 63 millimeters. (To be used with Asus Rog X670E Crosshair Hero motherboard)

You need to go into the Bios and change the GPU slot to PCIE 3.0x to get the system to recognise the card, before you attach the riser cable

Hello I am about to build close to that..Anyways with the straps and the weight of the case..I think maybe they had in mind to run a 2x4 or some like that, run it threw then 2 people can carry it with no problem..I could be wrong...

I have this same case but struggling to figure out how to get all 4 of the USB front connectors to work? My 2 on the left side work but the 2 on the right side wont work. I did the same as you did and did not use the right angled 3.0 cable and used the same one you used. I dont have another place to plug in the right angled one. does this mean I wont be able to use all my USBs on the front of my case? Please help

Asus Tuf GT501. I want to be able to get this case, but I do want to add another RGB fan for the back of it as t doesn't come with one. Like the ones that are on the front of the cae I also want to get a Hub to be able to control both the fans speed and the RGB in the case, something like the commander Pro Smart RGB lighting and fan speed controller that will work in it. I plan to add a liquid cooler system for the cpu in it with at least another two to three fans on top, could you please let me know where I can get all of this is possible.

Its been some time now... but I hope you figured out that you have to set the Board to Pci 3.0 in Bios... sadly it wont recognize automatically with a riser cable installed.

in my old days when i build a pc , i used to put something beneath the MB rather than plcacing it on a table. it may not cause any issue but you could very well to some damage to the soldering but well maybe i am wrong ...

With this case I found myself having to switch my aio fans to Intake instead of exhaust, my i9 12900k was over heating due to the GPU heat being pushed through the AIO Cooler. Has to be this Texas Heat that doesn't work with that specific configuration.

I wonder what the best case is a full tower that cools well, is quiet and has rgb?

can the top mounting of the radiator work in a push|pull configuration?

Hi , excellent video, I just bought this case + RTX 4090 and I noticed also that the card swings and its not very solid when you put it in this way, if you check the base of the case (the metal plates to cover the PSU) there are some holes where it supposed to be the riser cable embedded, in this case the riser cable is not even touching the plates, neither the case paddles reach to the card, so the only option is to build something specific for this to hold the card at the end and make it stable. Its not really reccomended to keep the card stable only from one corner.

This case costs more than my graphics card did haha crazy! No I’m not poor it’s just the 1660 super suffices with my 1080p display at the moment!

Hi Briony, and THANK YOU!! I am an Apple product user (since 1986), but my 13-year-old son is an avid gamer who has been working at getting a tricked out gaming PC for a long time. He decided to go with an almost complete ROG system and assured me over and over that he had watched the videos necessary to complete the build. I covertly watched a number of youtube walkthroughs as well because we all know how naive/confident teens can be. Well, everything arrived, and it looked amazing! We started the install, and the couple of steps went beautifully. But when it came to the cabling, I had never done anything quite so complicated, and my son looked at me with bewildered eyes (thinking that everything was pretty much plug-and-play. So before I tore out all of my hair (and his), I decided to review another video or two, and the first video I happened upon was this EXCELLENT walkthrough. Very fortunately, we were using most of the exact same components, so I was able to walk through the multitude of attachments to the motherboard without sweating anymore. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! Listening to your beautiful voice (and darling accent) as you quite literally saved my sanity (and my son's life - lol), we finished the build and got this amazing machine up and running! I have to say, I'm still a pretty devoted Mac guy, but I'm now really contemplating how hard it would be to tear my machine apart and install all of the components in a case like this with a lot of fun RBG lighting. You are a godsend! Thanks for your professional and concise presentation!

When I go on pc builder it says that that motherboard does not have sufficient USB 3.2 Gen 1 headers. The case USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A port will not be usable.

I have trouble powering up the front IO panel. The power and reset buttons work just fine (I connected the wiring to the motherboard), but the rest (USBs, lighting etc) do not seem to work There is somewhere a power cable that I should connect and I havent. Anyone can point me in the right direction. The biggest hint is that, the tiny fan hub just next to the IO panel is also not getting powered up.

So I just got this case yesterewywnd I'm having issues getting the front panel lighting to work I have the RGB header connected toy motherboard but I have no power to the front panel at all anyone know an answer to what I'm doing wrong I've heard things as far as a sata connection needs to be made to the PSU but I have no idea what that means. Please help.

I had that same issue with my card and it would work with my GTX 1080 ti but when i use my 1070 and do it facing the glass sideways it work fine but wouldnt work with the 1080ti i taugh it was the Pcie cable but it would with the 1070 nit the 11080

FYI: The asus 1000watt psu brings a set of longer 8 pin cpu connectors that are long enough to route it with the rest of the wires in the middle. I had a 850watt and the wires were also too short.

As you said at 10:00 only 2x 3.5" hdd slots and they arnt really obsolete the one thing that disappointed me was no support for optical drive bay sadly 😒

FYI Fan controller unit on mine overheated, causing the plastic cable guard to catch entire case on fire in seconds. Had to run mine out of the house from case straps and hose it down

I never understood all the lighting on GPUs that you never seee.. vertical mount is very nice and makes this work. Sad your riser cable was dead.

What the difference between the z390e & z390f?

the only thing keeping me from buying this over my lian li 0lld xl is that my lian holds 3 psu's. aside from having to do a custom case mod if i bought the helios to use the psu's for my system i'd say this is the second best case ive ever seen.

i Had the same problem with the 8 pin cpu cable. Was a Asus Helios too and a thor 850w. Even worse was, the Motherboard had 2 8 pins. Was only just barely long enough. Was really disappointed in Asus on that point.

PLEASE HELP .....I have just bought the case and I am confused by the plugs coming from the front I/O....there are 2 that say hook to power supply but they have strange ends that I have not seen and nothing compatible on my new PSU

What PCI extention are you using

I'm part of that niche market of owning all ROG components (but CORSAIR RAM) and that THOR PSU is a nice touch to your ROG theme. I think it's great to see ASUS venture into AIO cooling and personally I think it would look more aesthetically pleasing if the AIO tubes draped down more naturally in your build for they looked awkward stretched out due to the size of the RAD and with that been said, routing them under the cable cover did tidy the look up but I'm wondering if long term heat will somehow affect the tubing with them routed over the RAM like that. Bummer about your GPU ribbon, that would've made your ROG build pop even more with your GPU mounted vertically and yes I do agree that it would've helped fill the void since being such a big case, you still have all that room towards the front of it to fill. I think it would be pleasing for ROG enthusiasts like myself if ASUS made a case to match the aesthetics of their Motherboards, I own a ROG MAXIMUS FORMULA XI Motherboard and perhaps adding mirrored accents on some of the inner panels of the case's main area like the front cable cover, the panel next to it or even both the SSD mount and PSU shroud directly below the GPU to show off it's lighting because unless installing your GPU vertically, it's kinda pointless to have RGB on a GPU that you cant see when it's facing down installed in your Motherboard's PCI-e slot. Dunno why people complain about paying top dollar for a top quality case when they're willing to fork out for expensive hardware to fill it, if it weren't for a solid case, all their precious components will be sitting out in the open or risk being damaged in a cheap flimsy case. Judging by your comments of cooling and it being average, it's a pity such a good looking case is compromised by lack of air intake which would be a deal breaker for some that depend on air cooling their CPU, I may still be in the market to purchase one though and perhaps I'll remove or modify that front panel for more air intake. Thanks for a good build review.

This is an excellent build video using the ASUS ROG Strix HELIOS case. You covered all the bonuses and setbacks with using this case. Other than the issue with the GPU installation the only other thing I did was use cable extenders for the 8-pin connector going to the top of the motherboard which allowed me to use the built-in cable management straps. Thank you for putting this together.

Got the case but I’m white and I mixed up brands by putting in the msi meg z590 ace which the case makes the mobo just look as if it was made for it. Both solidly built.

Where you connected The front lightning? Mine not lightning up. The front glass. Cant seems to figure out what I missed.

Nice case but I dislike those straps on top. I wish they made some solid handles instead.
