It’s honestly crazy how good Geelong are. They’ve missed the finals twice under Chris Scott in 14 years which is insane, gone to 9 prelims under his watch which is even crazier, 3 grand finals and 2 premierships. They have so much young talent that are going to be stars in the future. I think Brisbane are done. Losing that granny has clearly wrecked them mentally.
@stormblessed26734 ай бұрын
Yes to all you said, as a pies fan it pains me to agree with you, but gotta begrudgingly pay respects to Chris Scott's coaching nous and the Cat's unbelievable list management. Even before Scott came of the scene, the Cat's have basically been finals contending since 2004 which is 20 years ago now - can't really argue with results like that.
@disco14464 ай бұрын
And before that were winning flags under Bomber of course. Made a prelim in 2004 so its 20 years of mostly being up.

Other AFL coaches have said that Chris Scott is the hardest to coach against. I mean, that just says it all. Everytime we get written off, it's because people have overlooked our kittens in the VFL. We don't do what Melbourne did to Jack Watts. We develop our players in the VFL first and don't debut them until they are fully ready for AFL footy. So when supporters of other clubs only see our AFL team, they are repeatedly surprised. My suggestion would be to look at the videos on Geelong Cats website during trade weeks. In terms of list management, most of the credit should really go to Stephen Wells.

Shame it was raining. I would’ve liked to see this match-up in normal conditions. Turned on the WA derby. But I can guess what happened. One team played to the wet conditions, the other tried being cute. Geelong are a 🐐 team. The only side still undefeated. Chris Scott is a mastercoach.

im in the UK and love AFL not seen anything of this season thus far, can an aussie please tell me what on earth has gone on with brisbane lions and collingwood so far this season??

Grand final hangover I reckon, sometimes leads to a slow start for teams who have to play deeper into finals the previous year. Pies look like they've come good after they drubbed Port yesterday, they've now won their last 3. Lions had a strong win against Melbourne at the MCG but they got this one wrong tactically. Didn't play to the wet conditions and Geelong did. Also both had fairly tough fixtures to start the year outside of Round 4.
@TanCoyer4 ай бұрын
@@ededwinson5774 thank you, really appreciate that reply! i wondered do they tend to start slow etc , or wether its a diasaster start, ive followed very casually over the years , last season i was able to follow and watch alot more, this season i really want to dive right in, think its an amazing sport and game. i noticed collingwood have 3 W's on the spin after starting with 3 losses, also the lions got 2 wins then lost again to geelong. I dont really have a team tbh, but do have a soft spot for some reason for the lions, plus, big admiration for the pies as when i saw them last season, they just always found a way to grind out the wins. thanks again for the reply, looking forward to following along more this season. whats your team btw? over here its all soccer our football, in which i support Tottenham. good luck to your team this season!
@ededwinson57744 ай бұрын
@@TanCoyer It was a disaster start for both, first time in V/AFL history dating back to 1897 both reigning grand finalists have started the year 0-3, but cats also started the year 0-3 last year after winning the premiership so perhaps it's becoming more common. Yeah pies have been on the right side of the ledger in a lot of exciting matches in the last couple of seasons, and lions have been in their premiership window for a few years. Both capable of getting on a run and finding themselves quickly back in the finals mix. I support Geelong, good luck to whoever you end up picking! Tough run home for spurs this season, hopefully villa choke a few results for your sake mate.
