Bristell Light Sport Aircraft Owners Perspective
#Bristell #BristellAircraft #BristellLsa
Bristell USA represents the airplane of the same name. After representing others and using decades of aviation experience, Bristell USA's longtime expert, Lou Mancuso, settled on this handsome, highly regarded Light-Sport Aircraft.
Created by deeply experienced designer, Milan Bristela, Bristell resembles the former PiperSport. That legacy aircraft builder chose to represent the original design in which Milan played a significant role. Piper saw the wisdom of using this design versus creating one of their own. Yet the modern Bristell is even better.
As he moved on, Milan knew many ways he could improve the design. Opening his own company he set about making the many changes you see today going through several iterations and arriving at the remarkable flying machine pictured nearby and elsewhere around ByDanJohnson.com.
Many experts who also flew PiperSport realized Milan Bristela's latest creation was better in every way... smoother, larger, more comfortable, and more polished. It even flies better. Aircraft reviewers with decades of experience were very impressed and their articles expressed this. To get such uniformly positive reviews is rare.
With beautifully finished interior, Bristell offers a widest-in-class 51.2-inch cockpit giving wonderful visibility all around the occupants. Bristell is a carefully engineered aircraft. One proof is its slim empty weight of 729 pounds, yielding a payload of 400 pounds even with full fuel at 32 gallons, easily enough for two large Americans. Those two can travel 700 nautical miles based. In addition, 121 pounds of baggage capacity is offered in two wing lockers plus in space aft of the seat.
In flight, Bristell boasts a very-low-speed stall at 32 knots (with flaps) yet a "max structural cruise" of 116 knots or 133 mph.
In all Bristell is a LSA that is a comfortable, capable, cross-country aircraft that can also handle the day-to-day abuse of a flight training.
For those concerned about their budget, Lou Mancuso's operation has developed the "Bristell Shares" program allowing you to own a share of one of these handsome aircraft. Learn more: Click here, or you can watch this video interview.
Using his decades of experience, Lou also developed Light-Sport Aircraft proficiency and transition training programs invoking a “Defined Go Around Point,” “Ground Proximity Awareness,” and “Personal Limitations Checklist” training. These innovative learning steps can make you a better, safer, more confident pilot and Landing Doctor, Lou Mancuso is ready to teach you his proven techniques. I love this channel. Dan really asks the questions everyone watching wants the answers to. Nice to have someone from the ultralight community out there asking the right questions for us. Thanks Dan!

Not bad really. Begin your slip a little further out on final. Little more upwind aileron along with more right rudder. Keep cross control thru the flair. Also don't know what your flaps were but use no more than half flaps. Once flared , adjust controls accordingly, keep full aileron on touchdown until your rollout slows to a fast walk. But again not bad for that wind component. Practice makes perfect.

What REALLY gets me is the intelligent design with the wide cabin, upright seating, wide screen unobstructed view, and I believe, also a turbine engine option coming? Can anyone confirm that?

I don't understand. Did he buy a share while waiting for his plane? So when he got his plane he sold his share?

I guess he didn't want to abuse his new plane. I'd have kept my old plane and saved myself some $ .

The Bristell aircraft seems to have its fair share of stall/spin accidents.

The FAA has given the Bristell a clean bill of health and has approved it for operations in our part 141 school , Mid Island Flight School in Shirley NY. Pilots who follow Lou Mancuso,s safety guidelines will not stall and therefore will not spin this amazing Light Sport Aircraft that is now available with the Rotax 141Hp 915 engine. We make safe ecstatically happy customers. 😎

I cannot leave this statement as it is: I currently have a Bristell RG and also had the fixed gear before that (total about 200hrs experience with Bristell). I have experience on about 8 different LSAs/Ultralights - the Bristell is certainly one of the safest airplane in its category and I got comfortable with her from the beginning. I have nothing to complain and according to my last info they already built over 400 of them. The copycat Roko NG6 has a worse record here in Europe I believe.

$14,000.00 for 1/16th share. $1650.00 for 30/hrs at $55.00/hr. $1,680.00 for maintenance at $140.90/mth, and that is the cheapest it could be. Maintenance cost could be more. So for your fist year to have a 1/16th share and have 30hrs of time to use the aircraft it will cost you $17,330.00 or maybe a little more. That is $577.67/hr to fly for 30hrs. Your second year will cost you $3,330.00 for 30hrs of flight time.and that comes out to $111.00/hr for 30hrs of flight time in a year. Can someone tell me how this is a good deal? I dont see it in the numbers or usage.

The first thing you have to do is TAKE the $14,000 off the price - he sold his share. The Ultralight Flyer

Light Sport and Ultralight Flyer Yes i understand that the initial $14,000.00 can be recovered when sold. For me, 30hrs is not even close to enough hours in a year. 100hrs or more. So it would be even more for an initial cost. Question. Will Bristell buy back the share or sell it for you, or are you out there trying to sell it yourself. $277.50 a month to fly an up to date plane for 2.5hrs a month on a 1/16th share. Now im pretty sure with 16 other people trying to use the plane you wont be able to overnight or weekend with the plane around holidays, so you just get to putt around some airstrip or play with the G3X. Now if i just want to putt around i can rent a chap or cub for $70/hr and a c172 for about $100/hr. Now those planes are not top end by far but they get in the air and i can arrange to keep them over night. Just dont see the “deal” with Bristell. Maybe i should look at comparable aircraft. The only reason i have not purchased my own aircraft is the ease of renting. I check the weather then go to the strip with my ipad and im off. Only in summer do i need to give a courtesy call in order to rent for the day. Over night or weekend of course i schedule.

@@ckryegrass11 I'm an aviation noob, but getting ready to learn before retirement. This is great advice for new pilots. Now I just have to buy the Microsoft Simulator on Black Friday. What's your best safety tip for new pilots?
