Ah, the Queen's Joust- that's the most crowded joust! The jousts are at 12 noon, 3 pm, and 530. The 530 joust is the "Joust to the Death". The group is called "The Jousters", and they do full plate jousting, with no stunt falls or breakaway lances. They actually earn points and it isn't the same person winning each day. The sign for the jousts is actually just beyond that bridge and most people walk right past it to ask me about the joust times (I was sitting in the Queen's Dias between the jousts- I work for the faire as a photographer). Anyway, you should come back because you can't see it all in one day! The area down by the joust has the military encampment, which are historical reenactors and they do a few demonstrations about weapons and "how not to die". They also fire muskets and cannons. Just beyond that is the Nobles Glade and they do historical demonstrations as well. 1 PM they do the Queen's table setting- which sounds boring but is really interesting. At 330 (after the Queen's Joust), they do a demonstration called "Courtly Fashion" where they present how they're dressed, informative and fun. There are other demos throughout the faire, glass blowers, blacksmith, pewter-smith. And there are rated PG and R shows for the adults as well as kid-safe shows that are also fun for parents/adults (like Cirque de Sewer and Barely Balanced). I'll end my rambling comment with my advice for newcomers- wear comfortable shoes, bring extra cash, and don't forget to hydrate.

A minor correction to what you stated at 4:17... Most shops and box office do accept debit/credit card. Food & drink is cash only. Edit: I'm a Bristol regular.

Went to the one in Minnesota last weekend! Had to of been a record turn out. Massive amount of ppl. Finally ppl are finding out how fun these renaissance festivals are

Every year they become more and more kind Disneyland. When they started in Chatsworth California it was a party of "hippies" playing and enjoying acting their fantastic of days goneby. Money corrupts all, few in custom mostly all shorts and t-shirts where is their imagination, Halloween more than once a year. Oh, I forget most have out grown their inner child. I had to grow old, 72, but I do not know if I will ever totally grow up. Hope I die before that happens.

None of the Ren Faire in Minnesota and Bristol are any good anymore. It was awesome back in the 70's and 80's when i was an actor at Bristol. It really sucks now days. I would not even bother to go to any of them anymore.
