There are a couple things about the square patties. The corners hang over the edge of the bun so you can see the meat, since they were never frozen and used a higher quality he wanted people to see them. Also in the first fast food outlets that were short on space you could fit more burgers on the grill. I met Dave once, he was an adorable lovely man with kind words for anyone who spoke to him. He reminded me of my Grandpa. On a note about fast food, Wendy's is by FAR my favorite fast food place. We used to go for our lunch hour at work and would get a garden salad with fresh tomatoes, carrots and ranch dressing ($.99), a baked potato with sour cream ($.99) and a cup of beef and bean chilli with cheddar cheese to poor over the potato ($.99) and you left very full and felt healthy for $3. We did that for 3 years from 2008-2011, great food at a fantastic value. The world is a smaller and sadder place without COEs like Dave.

Fries in frosties is a CLASSIC. If you go to Wendy's and don't, you might as well don't go! lol 😅 (but not joking)

The reason the beef patties are square and the buns are round is so you can easily see the beef. Wendy’s first national TV ad was a grandmother loudly asking “Where is the beef?” while looking at another chain’s burger that was all bun and no beef. Very successful ad, and you could easily see the beef with a Wendy’s burger. No one will ever be able to drink a Frosty with a straw. Use the spoon they provide with the Frosty. There is a reason do not provide a straw when you order a Frosty.

The Jolly channel is one of my favorite channels on here. Their videos with Bristish students and their headmaster are my most favorite on there. I love their sense of humor, genuineness and how good natured they are. I like Wendy's single burgers. I've never had their Baconator or Baconator fries before. I agree with him. The names are very American. 😂

The prices extremely depend on many factors including if the Wendy's is in a truck stop, if they recently upgraded or built a new Wendy's building, and the area. Truck stop Wendy's are the cheapest because they have 4 for $4.44 as their cheapest meal, old Wendy's and some upgraded ones have a $5 biggie bag as their cheapest meal, and the new ones and other upgraded ones have $6, $7, and $8 as their cheapest. Plus, most locations have a cheaper meal on the app that you can order. When I say cheap meals, I mean what used to be called a 4 for $4. Now, it is what I explained above. These consist of 1 burger, small french fries, small nuggets, and a small drink. Wendy's also sells a frosty keytag at the end of every year for $3 and this gets you a FREE small Frosty EVERY DAY FOR A YEAR! I believe England currently has only 2 Wendy's.

The burgers are square because their slogan used to be "we never cut corners." Also, the frosties are not meant to be flipped upside down! They're probably getting confused with the Blizzards from Dairy Queen, which is sold to be flipped to show how thick they are.

It's funny they mention a square bun, I recently tried their Sausage & Egg Croissant breakfast sandwich and was amazed that not only was the sausage square but so was the croissant. It was quite good!

They changed the recipe years ago to reduce the fat.. Was so much better when I first had it 45 years ag ... more fat calories ;-) The Frosty is one of the best ice creams out there, the Dave's single or double (cheeseburger) are ok. Their salads are good too.

Wendy's and McDonald's are actually pretty equally priced. It kind of makes you wonder how McDonald's is even still in business, considering the higher quality of Wendy's, for about the same cost. I suppose brand recognition has something to do with it. Perhaps variety of menu items and number of locations as well. I know I've always preferred Wendy's over McDonald's. The quality really does seem higher, and the taste is generally better, too.

6:33 used to be more expensive, now it’s cheaper.. same better quality than McDonald’s, but McDonald’s upped the prices so high u can’t get a happy meal for less than $5.78 (that’s a small burger, apples, and a sleeve of 10 fries, and a jr drink ) where at Wendy’s u can get a “biggie bag” for 5 and u get a sandwich, fries, chicken nuggets, and a drink.. upgrade to $6 bag for a bacon cheeseburger deluxe or a crispy chicken sandwich deluxe.. u can’t leave McDonald’s under $10 for a combo anymore..

I'll point out again--'cause I'ver seen this video before--the truism "the more run-down the chicken shop, the better the food" also goes for southern US BBQ places. If you are driving down a rural road and pass a place selling BBQ with a tin roof falling in and smoke coming from somewhere out back, you are about to have a heavenly experience.

I'm disappointed that they didn't have them try the chili. Wendy's chili is pretty damn good, and if you read the ingredients in those frosties...you might change your mind...it's a chemistry experiment.

Dave's story is a good one, and is a rare genuinely good human. Wendy's is def a go-to, but find one near a highway or in a busy nice area. The theory the kid said about the more run down the chicken shop, the better, DOES NOT apply to Wendy's. Stay away from those further out ghetto ones haha

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS TOO MUCH BACON!! It is not more expensive one a even playing field. The burgers that Wendy's offers are not really comparable to McDonalds, so they are not priced the same. The question is if you are getting value for your money. At Wendy's you are for most things. The one thing you want to avoid at Wendy's is their Chili. The meat consists of the previous day's unused, cooked hamburger patties.

Wendy's is my favorite and tops my list, with McDonald's at the bottom.

The founder Dave was adopted as a child, so the restaurant has done a lot to promote his foundation which advocates for the adoption of foster children

Dave's double is better if you like veggies. Baconator is good for people that don't like veggies on their burger. I like both so I get the double big Bacon classic which has Bacon and all the veggies. The cheese sauce on the fries is basically the typical cheese sauce you'd find on fries anywhere in the US. Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich is amazing 2. I have ot as the 3rd best one only behind Popeye's and Chick-fil-A. Also, dipping fries in frostee or any ice cream or shake is so gross to me lol. He's right, it is morally wrong lol.

Wendys is very good they need to bring back their fries from the 90’s. Ever since they changed them in like 2010 I have not been a fan of the fries.

Wendy's isn't as good as Five Guys but it's cheaper and way better than McDonalds.

One thing they don’t do at Wendys that they do at Five Guys is after wrapping the burger they don’t slam their hand down on the sandwich crushing it into a pancake. Never had a good Five Guys burger. Wendys 100% all the way. Also Five Guys is way overpriced.

Wendy’s is about the same price as McDonald’s as it’s one of the 3 old giants in fast food burgers here in America. The other 2 being McDonald’s and Burger King. Those 3 have always competed with each other, whereas places like Five Guys and Shake Shack are trying to market themselves as a more premium burger.

Wendy's prices are in the same general category as McDonald's and Burger King. At any given time they're probably more expensive for some items and cheaper for others (because as inflation happens over time each chain makes its own decisions about what prices need to be raised when), but they're comparable. McDonald's does better for a couple of reasons. First, out of every company that has ever existed in the history of the world, McDonald's are the absolute best at picking good locations. If you are starting a fast-food restaurant and have to decide where to put it, you can't do better than to get the lot right next to or across the street from a McDonald's. It's always the best spot for miles around. Second, McDonald's is as good at advertising as any company in any business. Wendy's is _decent_ at advertising (much better than, say, Burger King), but they're not as good at it as Taco Bell, and *nobody* is better at it than McDonald's. Coca-Cola, Nike, Apple, any company you care to name that's good at advertising, McDonald's is at least as good at it, maybe better. Third, McDonald's is very good at adapting for each local market. (So for example in Israel there are two separate entrances, one for meat and the other for dairy, so they sell both hamburgers and also ice cream, but no cheeseburgers because meat and dairy in the same meal would be the same as boiling a calf in it's mother's milk, in the eyes of some deranged medieval Rabbi. In India they sell no beef. In Ecuador they use cabbage instead of lettuce. In parts of Europe all the food is served on dishes that get washed and re-used. And so on. Basically, they do their homework when expanding into a new market.) Finally, McDonald's started sooner, so they had a head start and therefore had lots of locations already back when Wendy's was still a small regional chain. Wendy's is big and international now, but McDonald's is bigger and more international. The baconator fries are clearly inferior to a good poutine. And yes, yellow American is the wrong kind of cheese for on fries.

I don't eat fast food very often, but I don't think I have been disappointed the times I went to Wendy's. I do think it's way better than McDonald's. Best meal of my life? Well no fast food place would win that, but although I don't eat fast food often, Wendy's has always been good. Culver's also is pretty good, but more pricey. For me, might as well go to a restaurant at this point, prices aren't that different. I'd just rather go to a local Indian or Asian restaurant for the same price. Wendy's is pretty good as fast food goes though.

When I was a kid in the 80's, my most favorite burger joint was Rally's(and no Checkers isn't the same, F Checkers for ruining Rally's!!!). When Checkers bought out Rally's, Burger King became my favorite and still is to this day.
