There are so many different types of snacks. There's a reason why our supermarkets are huge. Anybody will find tons of stuff to his/her liking, and tons of stuff not to his/her liking.

Takis are actually an import snack to America. They were invented in Mexico in 1999 and imported to America in 2004.

They actually offered them a very strange selection of snacks. I mean, Twinkies, cheezits and goldfish are pretty common, but a lot of the other ones aren't so much. To be fair, our selection of snacks is truly massive, and they didn't scratch even 1/20th of the more common ones. My guess is that so many of our snacks are popular world wide, especially in the UK that they wanted to make sure they got ones the kids would've never heard of. But I still think they could've done better with the selection.

We only have one major brand of chocolate that is so-so and that's Hershey's. But we also have Ghirardelli that is made in San Francisco and their chocolate is top tier. We also have a lot of small businesses of Organic or premium chocolates that are too numerous to name in one day.

I saw this video with these non-too-pleased high schoolers😊. Goldfish are for toddlers that the mom carries with her in case the child wants a snack. Warheads are for 5 and 6 year olds too. The Pringles are good. That flavored spray is for 4 and 5 year olds. The guys who bought the American snacks didn't do their best this time around. We have soooo many delicious snacks that are higher quality that kids buy daily in the US. Not many people drink root beer especially not kids unless it's in an ice cream float. The thing with root beer in the UK is the flavor is used for things you would have in a medicine cabinet. Here in America we chose cherry and banana as flavor for medicines and mint for mouthwash. The artificial flavors of cherry and banana candy and other snacks are not as popular because of it.

Most of those were crap snacks. Warheads are sour for like 10 seconds and then are sweet hard candies. Also I noticed the guy who didn’t like Twinkies (which are my favorite) licked his fingers clean.

Replacing an S with a Z or even an X is a slick way to get around copyright infringement/ patent issues. A good way to get one’s product on the shelves right away. Also some companies just think it’s cool & memorable lol

You can tell that the kids who don't like some of the snacks don't like them because its something different that they're not used to, and haven't really given the flavor a chance. Highschoolers brains and minds are still not fully developed yet, so some of them are naturally going to decide that they don't like some of these snacks before they even eat it, just based on the packaging and other factors. You can never trust the palate of a kid because they are almost guaranteed to dislike anything they haven't grown up with.

Hershey's uses a slight acidic flavoring that distinguishes it from other chocolates. Most Americans like the extra tang. For most Americans other chocolate tastes a little bland (or overly sweet). A few (very few) people here in America like to look sophisticated by running down Hershey's. And even fewer have a 'natural' dislike because of their palate sensitivity to the acidic taste. The palate in the UK is tuned to bland so the acidic flavoring would easily be detected. If however you have tasted other Hershey products you would already be adjusting to it.

I agree with most of the comments on this video. They really didn't give these kids our best snacks. Most are for small children. We do have some amazing snack foods in America.

I don't understand the thing about Root Beer, with Brits not liking it because it reminds them of medicine they've had. We grow up with medicines flavored with Cherry, Lemon, Orange, etc., yet that doesn't make us dislike those flavors. I've mentioned this before- it seems that the typical American is adventurous and wants to try new things and is optimistic that something new will be good, while it seems that people from other countries seem to automatically think anything they have never tried must taste bad and goes into trying new things with a very negative attitude.

I think a lot of these snacks were things packed for kids' lunches (like PB&J), and we continue to eat them for nostalgic reasons lol. It tastes like childhood and, therefore, is "comfort" food to me.

Most of these are odd flavors of popular snacks. Pringles bbq, or sourcream and onion are more popular. Takis remind me of burnt corn chips with touch seasoning on it.

I agree with the comments below. These are not the tastiest snacks to try. I don't know why they went with that much heat or these choices. (I have never even heard of Cardi B chips.) You are so American at heart that there is a ton that you would enjoy. Snacks vary by city. For example, I am in Cincinnati Ohio. We have potato chip and ice cream brands that you cannot even buy in other cities in the same state. We have Grippos, Mike Sells, and Husman Potato Chips that are made here. Two of them you cannot buy anywhere but here. We have UDF, Graeter's, and Aglemesis ice creams. You cannot buy outside of Cincinnati. Even Oprah has a pint of Graeter's ice cream shipped to her monthly. Just keep in mind that there is something for everyone's taste. I can't wait to see the things you receive once you get your PO Box. You may need to start working out so you won't need to buy two airplane seats when you visit.

My favorite snack from gas stations down in Texas was water melon with Mexican chilli powder called tajin to add so kick to it. Can go on any fruit and taste good.

Combos are delicious. There's all sorts of flavors. They come in either Pretzel or Cracker shells, and they have a powdered-like filling that is flavored in some way. I like the pretzel mustard versions.

Root Beer is derived from the root bark of a Sassafras Tree. Sassafras are only native to North America, so that's why Root Beer is not a staple drink anywhere else. When I was a little kid back in the 70s, (yeah, I'll be 50 in two months) I heard the word Root Beer and I thought alcoholic beverage, right? But when I finally tried it at the age of 5 or 6, it tasted like a Cola with a slightly different flavor. The reason why y'all think it tastes like medicine is because the Sassafras root has medicinal purposes. And the beverage was actually invented by a pharmacist in the late 1800s, if I recall. He was looking for a beverage to serve his patrons while they waited in his shop. The first versions were not carbonated, and for a while, even into modern times, you could get a non-carbonated Sassafras drink. A little gas station just down the highway from me used to carry some. The station is long gone, but i'd get some there when I was in high school 30+ years ago. But I'll ya, if y'all's medicine tastes like e Root Beer, sign me up for some of your medicine. It's funny thought that these kids didn't like the variety they have here. A&W with the "Made with Real Vanilla" is probably my favorite kind. It's got a slightly smoother taste than any other kind. We've got the Zero Sugar version of A&W in our fridge right now. It's not bad, for a "diet" Root Beer, by any means. But sometimes, depending on what you're eating, a Root Beer is the preferred choice. It seems to go really well with BBQ Pork.

I love combos but Not the pizza ones... they have cheese filled ones... much, much better. Takis are 2 of my granddaughters (ages 10 and 16) favorite snack lol I love root beer floats... vanilla ice cream in root beer.❤ the warheads are VERY VERY Sour lol. I could go to Dollar Tree and get a better sampling like 10-15 bucks. Actually, they're kinda perfect because like every national brand snack food they sell there is a single serving size. Ideal for putting together a sampler box with lots of variety.

I wouldn't say these are typical American snacks.... except the Goldfish and Cheez-its. But having been subjected to some British snacks before.... I think our tastes just differ. Also I think "American Chocolate" stereotypes mostly come from Hershey, but we have more than Hershey bars here -- and unless I am making a S'more, I don't usually buy Hershey bars.

please do a root beer float first before you drink it straight. i believe it'll help ease you into it. best snacks i can think of from a grocery store are : Star Crunch and zebra cakes right off the bat. forget twinkies these surpass them by a mile. combos from the video can be ok i believe the pizza flavor might have been a little off for these kids i suggest standard cheese flavor. idk if you have sweet tarts ropes but thats my go to candy choice here recently. im sure we have a fair amount of the same snacks so its difficult to know what are different without going to a british store myself.

I hate them, but my husband love them. 3. Pizza flavored things don't exactly taste like pizza...like very much at all. 4. Root beer is delicious. But most things taste weird after eating takis. 5. Last. Z (zee not zed, lol) in American food products with cheese is usually used when the product doesn't contain real cheese. Cheez, Cheeze, or we jokingly say cheese with 6 e's and 3 z's is what we call foods, that due to legal reasons, can't be legally called cheese, but only cheese products.

Some schools banned Takis because kids were 1. Getting sick from eating too many, and 2. Getting the red (or blue, yes bright blue Takis) powder everywhere.

The history of the Hershey Company is pretty fascinating. Milton Hershey went to a world fair where he tried milk chocolate, but in Europe it was more common to have chocolate with powdered milk. He was the one to bring chocolate with fresh dairy milk to America and when they were working on a recipe, the one Milton decided on had kind of a sour taste, so now all Hershey's have that kind of iconic flavor. M&Ms are called that because of a partnership between Murrie (a president of Hershey Company) and Mars Inc, so the chocolate probably does taste similar, although I never really noticed.

Goldfish are usually something given to kids. Same with Cheezits. Only time I have ever seen adults eat those by choice is if they are at the beach, and its usually because you got a 5 lb bag for the kids and are hangry.

I'm an American and most of the snacks they tried are things I would never eat here 😂 but I've also ordered a SnackCrate with all British snacks and I will say most American snacks definitely taste sweeter.

Yeah my daughters (13 and 11 yo) love Takis and I will sometimes grab a party box with individual wrapped bags for their school events. The kids love them!

Hershey's chocolates have more of a waxy texture, and Mars brand chocolates are more creamy. Mars came up with their M&Ms to promote that it does not melt in your hand. America can get pretty hot, and chocolate can melt easily here. European chocolates are more like Mars Incorporated brands. Since you like M&Ms, try Dove candy bar. Hershey was the first in America to come up with a chocolate that could be mass produced to make it more affordable than the European confectioners of his time.

These are all common snacks in a America. Most are given to us through adolescence. As our taste buds mature, we try new things. However those snacks are part of our childhood, so at least half of the 'adult' population still eats them, even if only occasionally.

Jelly Bellies are my go-to sweet snack and Gardetto's are my favorite savory snack. Taki's are good for spice, but I'm hooked on Doritos Flaming Hot Cool Ranch. I'm not a big chocolate fan, but Almond Roca is delicious. It's a chocolate covered almond toffee and a lovely comfort food.

I've loved root beer ever since I was a little kid, and I actually prefer the much spicer Barq's brand.

Once fall comes (the cooler months) leading through winter , in my family we start to make good hearty soups that warm the body and soul as well as give you strength. Also good when one feels a little sick with cold. You should try some of our wonderful soups. Vegetable soup, broccoli cheese soup, loaded potato soup, etc.

To be fair, some of the snacks they chose are not close to being our best ones. The Takis are wonderful. I won't even mess with Carolina Reaper peppers or that flavor. It is too hot for me. I love spicy food, but there is a heat threshold for everyone, and mine tops out with the habanero pepper. Which is way milder than a Carolina reaper or a ghost pepper or anything in that class of peppers. But we do have some snacks that outclass some of the ones they tried. Like the combos, the pizza ones are okay...but there are better flavors than it. Like...I am not sure what crossed the pond from the USA to the UK...so I am not sure completely to recommend. But yes, I hope you get to do a try video soon with lots of amercan foods and snacks.

Some of my favorite snacks are Nacho cheese Dorito’s, Tombstone Pizza sticks, symphony chocolate bar with toffee chips, and buttery popcorn.

As far as potato chips go. Look for anything kettle cooked. Preferably something made with lard, or tallow. Best flavor you'll get out of a vanilla potato chip. I'm appalled that no form of Cheetos/flaming hot Cheetos were sampled. Takis are lit. Spicy/crunchy corn tortilla rolls with a hint of lime. Can't go wrong. But yeah, they pack some heat. I used to eat so many warheads as a kid. They have so much malic acid in them that it will actually strip the first layer of flesh from your tongue. If you like sour, you'll love them. Twinkies are sub par. I feel that Entenmanns has far superior commercial grade baked goodies like that. Raspberry danish twist being the absolute best there is.

You need to try Gripos BBQ chips. They are the best. Here in the US not all food is available across the country. It can be region specific. Gripos are normally only found in the Midwest. As well is Faygo soda.

The running joke with Twinkies is that cockroaches and Twinkies will be the only things left after a nuclear attack. They did a Simpsons ir Family Guy bit on it.

When I was a kid Hostess Twinkles had a different recipe. The company got bought out and they changed it. People stopped buying them and they eventually went out of business. When they were gone people lamented them on their memories that wasn’t realistic. A couple years later another company bought the name and formula and they now produce them as bad if not worse then they were when they went belly up. Twinkies are greasy, wet and tasteless. Don’t feel bad if you try them and they suck.

You mentioned peanut butter as a snack…but for a long time…a peanut butter and jelly sandwich was part of an American kid’s school lunch he or she took to school for lunch…the sandwich, maybe a fruit, some juice..and some kind of sweet…

I prefer Cheezits over Goldfish any day of the week. Goldfish leave an awful after taste. Twinkies are okay but you have to Little Debbie snack cakes. The Swiss Roll, the Zebra cake, the Nutty bar, the Oatmeal cake, the Fudge round, and the Iced honey bun are my top tier favorites. Yes, we do like our peanut butter but pairing it with chocolate takes it to another level. Reese's cup, Butterfinger, Peanut butter M&M are the best. I wouldn’t really eat any of these snacks. I’ve eaten some of them as a kid, especially the gold fish. My favorite snacks as an adult are probably the zebra cake rolls and Wiley Wallaby’s watermelon licorice. My favorite chips have always been Funyuns. I love peanut butter, so my favorite candy is peanut butter m&ms.

As for chocolate, yeah...Hershey's is probably one of the worst. It's not THE worst, but it's somewhat close. I'd say that out of a scale of 1 to 10, it's about a 3, 3½. There's a few really cheap chocolates they use for Easter candy, that is horrible. Those would get 1's, maybe 2's. My personal favorite American chocolate is Dove, which is apparently your Galaxy brand. There's better apparently, but for affordable quality chocolate, Dove is your choice. The better one are the European specialty chocolates. I'd put Dove at a solid 7, 7½, maybe even an 8. However there is one use for Hershey's where there is really no substitute and that's for S'Mores. There's just something about it's texture and flavor that only works with S'Mores. S'Mores being a fire-roasted Marshmallow, a 3-block chunk of Hershey's chocolate, in a Graham Cracker "bun".

We always used the Goldfish crackers to make trail mix when we were camping - mix them with M&M's, raisins, sunflowers seeds, maybe some granola or honey-nut Cheerios. For the Cheez-its - gotta have the white cheddar ones. Root Beer is not really the most popular drink but it's good for making an ice cream float. Pringles - I prefer the sour cream and onion or cheddar flavor. The pizza flavor...eh, it's a bit hard to make that taste great (also that's not a clear flavor since pizza comes in all types) Never heard of the Rap Snacks. Combos are very crunchy and not liked by all - but I have to recommend the cheese ones over the pizza ones...straight Hershey bars are probably better for making S'mores than eating by themselves. If you're going to have a candy bar, I'd recommend a Snickers. Peanut Butter M&M's are something I'm hooked on right now. (The caramel ones are pretty good too). War Heads are not my thing, haven't had that since I was a kid. I think Cheetos and Doritos are pretty popular snacks...Corn chips are a must if you want to have a good frito-chili-pie. Oh, snack wise I have a weakness for Oatmeal Creme Pies - they're horrible for me, but I love them. Nachos!!! I don't think we can claim nachos, but I love nachos!!

We have soooooooo many different snacks, everyone has different taste buds. WE had snacks from Mexico that are very common. Snacks from all over the world depending which market you shop at.
