I still think that Jason Williams was one the underrated players in the league. He grew up playing street ball and used some of that skill in the NBA. He wasn't an All Star. Sometimes those passes didn't work. He wasn't a great defender. But he had handles and had unbelievable court awareness. He was fun to watch.

His ability to find his teammates is due to his incredible offensive awareness. Knowing where your teammates most likely are, even if you can't see them, is a skill developed due to great perceptual awareness and familiarity with those players. Its one of those skills that can't be measured on a track or in a weight room and is at times underrated IMO...in not just basketball, but soccer, American Football, hockey, and others.

That Kings team was fun to watch. Even though they kept losing in the playoffs Sacramento was terrible before that era so it still felt like a win (Kings fans might disagree - they were probably devastated). They weren’t my team but I secretly rooted for them because they were so young and talented.

He won with the Heat in 06. He was starting point guard. That team was led by D Wade and Shaq. He was very exciting, but wild early on with Kings. Then with Grizzlies, he developed into a very efficient point guard, leading the league in assist-turnover ratio more than once. Then got a ring with Shaq and Wade in Miami.

The guy had a ton of natural talent, and was one of the league's most entertaining players ever. His style of play is called "street ball", as it has its origins on public courts common in large American cities. The football equivalent might be ad hoc games in Brazilian favelas. Some coaches, who favored traditional fundamentals and less emphasis on showmanship, found Williams's style to be too flashy and risky/prone to turnover. That perhaps explains why he played for so many teams over the span of his career (4 teams, including 1 team twice, over 14 years). Nevertheless, he was undeniably fun to watch, and in my opinion, underrated in terms of his actual playing quality. The NBA doesn't allow players to hang around for 14 year careers unless they can play.

Im a huge fan of the 80's Celtics with Larry Bird and they were known for some great passing in that era, but im sorry this guy takes the cake compared to any passing ive seen anywhere by anyone, hes just dead on accurate as well as unpredictable and fast as a cat with its ass on fire. Jason was also known for that astounding elbow pass that only he could do and ive never seen anyone use their own body language so effectively to misdirect others and thread the passing needle, a real legend in elite passing.

How did he see him? Well on the play where he is on the ground....when they show it in slow motion you can see JDub peek into his peripheral vision before he gained control of the ball. He knew where he was going to pass it before he got possession.

I saw a video about JW and he said he spent countless hours developing his passing by making bulls eyes on a wall with tape and using them as targets for his passing moves, a big part of how he gained such amazing accuracy.

When J will played for the kings, he helped change the game of basketball. Kings played a fast paced, showboat game. Watch some of the stoyachavic 3 pointers. Kings 6th man passer, Bobby Jackson. To really appreciate the kings watch some of the games playing at arch arena. The fans ignited the players and the players responded. Bibby was another kings passer that is remarkable. rick adelman was the kings coach, he was remarkable.

I'll give you a European Football/soccer equivalent for him. He was a significantly less good version of Ronaldinho. Lots of flash and highlight reel plays, but a bit more sizzle than steak, overall.

The 2001-2002 Sacramento Kings were one of the best teams in NBA history to not win the championship. There are some thoughts on why they lost a game or two in the playoffs with a crooked ref but that is getting off the point of just how good the team was.

Oh yeah as great and amazing as he may have made 1 all star team but I'm not sure and was a liability late in games for his team because he did make a lot of mistakes I mean he he throw balls behind his back and they ended up four rows into the stands. It was really late in his career when he still had some of that flare but he was a bench player who was a little more careful with his decision making that he really excelled as a bench player. And I say that as a life long Sacramento fan who was born and raised in Sacramento the first 15 years of my life
