A friend of mines has a feature thats meant to detect if you crash your car, his phone fell out of the holder on his bike and smacked the ground he also stopped sharply to pick it up, he got a visit from an ambulance and police about 10 min later 😂

My cellphone calls 911 if you press the side power button 5 times. Makes pocket dialing quite easy. It happened to me once.

I saw one where a guy enters a store with a paper bag on his head, bumbles around for a bit, leaves, then re-enters with new eye holes ripped in the bag. All this while still wearing his store issued name tag...

Some phones in the US come with an emergency dial button ,usually a big red touch screen button, on the phone

6:20 Accidentally dialing 911 happened a lot around 2010-2013. Cell phones started to have a feature where merely pressing on the phone for an extended period automatically called 911. This was in case someone was disabled, injured, or tied up and couldn't actually dial the numbers. However this resulted in A LOT of false calls as merely sitting on the phone the wrong way while driving would call 911. Most cell phones have discontinued this feature.

Ok, so the guy claiming you couldn't commit burglary during the day was right, just wrong time period. There was indeed a time where burglary, by definition, was breaking in at night. The same crime committed during the day would be labeled trespassing, which carried(s) a lesser charge.

There was I don't know if this was dumb or just unlucky: He was trying to break in to a liquor store, going in through the roof and the duct work. Ceiling gives way, he falls to the floor a glass bottle falls off the shelf, whacks him in the head knocking him out for a few seconds, when he comes to, he stumbles over the register, breaks it open....just $25 in it. He tries to leave, can't open the door, tries to force it open, break it open, nothing. Comes back with a keg. Sits on it, has a cigarette. The cops pull up. He turns out drops to knees and gives up.

As far as pocket dialinig 911. I've never done it but can see it would be VERY easy to do depending on what phone you have. I know (at least here in America) some phones have a feature where if you hold the power button for 5 seconds (or volume up, etc), it will dial 911. I could see in tight jeans and with the right phone the power button getting pushed in when sitting down, etc.

I called 911 multiple times in one year because of my android phone hearing things. Once My husband asked what I was watching and I respond "Call 911" a few minutes later an officer was on the door step. I've gotten mad at Bixby now and have deleted the service from my life. lol It's annoying but some phones can easily access the lock screen 911 feature while in your pocket.

One of my childhood neighbors grew up to be the kind of genius that got high, walked into someone's house during the day (and while the resident was home), & tried to walk off unsteadily with a large TV 😆

My phone has this thing where if you hit the volume buttons in a certain combination or hold both them down for too long it auto dials 9-1-1. I had it happen once when my phone was in my pocket in a UTV and my leg was pressed against the door. These features are good because they are easily accessible but they also suck because they waste dispatchers time with pocketcalls from someone who is completely unaware of what their phone is doing and doesn’t actually need help.

1:16 Note how he's also not wearing gloves or a mask so even if the video footage failed the victims could still ID him and he likely left his fingerprints somewhere like the two sets of doors entering and leaving the bank.

1:39 Robbing a bank is a federal offense and the FBI doesn't mess around. Also, it's still armed robbery even if they're not armed as they merely threatened or implied violence.

Thank you for the laughs! There are truly a lot of really dumb people. I was on a jury once for a guy who got mad and shot off part of his girlfriend's hand. When testifying he said "well you know how women are". We convicted him.

Have you ever seen people caught in bait cars? The cops leave a car unlocked in an area where car thefts are common. When someone gets in, they are being recorded. Once the turn on the car and start driving, the car is turned off and all the doors are locked via remote control.

A lot of the phones in the US have a emergency button if you swipe up on your phone and click it so I guess that can happen sometimes.

It actually happened to me once. It was years ago. At the time I had a REALLY cheap phone in my back pocket. The phone rang and it was the the 911 Operator asking if I had called. I have a MUCH better phone now that I carry in a holster on my belt.

Decades ago back home guy walked into convenience store one winter day to buy a frozen burrito. He put a twenty dollar bill on the counter, then when the cashier opened the register to give him his change the dude said it was a robbery & demamded all of the cash. Now this was after the convenience stores no longer allowed more than twenty dollars in the registers, so the dude got very little money. He also left the burritto & the twenty dollar bill on the counter. Best of all? When the cops showed up, they followed the dude's footprints in the snow thru the vacant lot behind the store to his trailer. Dude was the only customer to the store that morning as the weather was sucky. Dude wasn't drunk or high, just incredibly stupid.

Years ago I was given a sign to put on the outside door that said Mi Casa es su Casa [ My house is your house ] and I wouldn't put it on my door because I knew some idiot would take it as an invitation to break in.

My partners phone does indeed start to call emergency services when he puts in down from time to time. Its a combination of a voice feature and something else, can't remember, and would start to dial 911

Yes American phones will auto-dial 911 even if you don't have a sim card for emergencies 1 button

oh Kabir, you sweet summer child..... if you hold down the power button, your phone automatically calls emergency services...... some phones even call it if you fall/drop the phone from a big enough distance

these people are obviously so clueless most of them are probably going to come to a bad end whether or not they commit crimes. Therefore rather than just sentencing them to prison we might consider a permanent non-free but SAFE sector of society where all their basic needs will be looked after but where they will be allowed only limited interaction with an outside world they are not only unable to compete in but in many cases have no real understanding of at all.⚛😀
