“Atmosphere” at the beginning is a measurement of pressure. One atmosphere means the amount of pressure you’d feel at sea level

As a SCUBA diver, I can tell you that 1 atmosphere is 30ft.

Hello Kabir... Four manned descents and three unmanned descents have been achieved to the deepest part of the trench... At the bottom of the trench, the water column above exerts a pressure of 1,086 bars (15,750 psi), more than 1,071 times the standard atmospheric pressure at sea level.

1 atmosphere (The air Pressure experienced at sea level) Equivalent to: ~ 15.7 Pounds per square inch /~101 kiloPascals / ~34 feet of "head" (Fresh Water) or, as Frederick Zachary previously stated ~30 feet of Salt Water

I don't think many have a good fix on the titanic forces on the earth's crust or the oceans depths. I don't think you will have much effect on either even with a sizeable nuke. 0:39 Nothing will happen to plates in the earth's crust. 1:56 That means you would be 'squished' like a bug under a tire. 3:36 My guess would be little will happen on the surface. With what you have seen in this video, it is conceivable that a tipping point on a fault line could initiate an earthquake with a sub surface (not sub marine) nuclear blast. This would just be a normal earthquake.

Actually the furthest anyone has been in Marina Trench is called the challenger deep. The only time any 2 people went down into Marina's Trench. Great story if you get the time to look it up.

it'll do nothing mostly. u kno how heavy water is? But if they put that same bomb like 400 ft under the sea and blew it up...now that'd be a show. I'd love to see that in person from a safe distance. Just like the one that the US did at Operation Crossroads. I think I'd stay for the Able bomb and get outta there for the mess that the Baker Bomb caused in Nuclear fallout.

People only think bad because they don't realise the true size of everything involved. It would be like putting a small firecracker into an olympic swimming pool and even then it doesn't really compare because the ocean is gigantic.

Before watching this I'm gonna guess that the pressure will be so immense down at the bottom that when it gets to the surface, it'll be just bubbles
