Good luck in expecting the UK general public to fight wars to defend the country! In past wars we knew what we were fighting for in terms of preservation of our way of life, culture, democracy and against an evil regime. Now our own leaders are an evil regime, democracy is dead when they ignore manifesto promises, change leader and give important roles like foreign secretary to unelected individuals. Why would the working class volunteer to defend this country when they are treated badly in peacetime. As an 80 yr old who saw his Father return from WWII i will say right away that the fighting age Brits of today could not and will not fight for this now ruined Country. They haven't the love the strength or the wherewithal to fight for something that means very little to them. My Fathers generation joined up in their hundreds of thousands to fight because their Fathers had fought in WWI and they loved this Country, but the young of today haven't had to fight for anything and quite frankly they haven't the passion needed to fight.
