Looks like a great model. That main boom is so long! I would love to see this model sailing with other similar gaff rigs.

Built from plans in Uffa Fox book and lots of research from various sources.There is quite a lot of information about,why I chose this.Planked from balsa over frames and fibreglassed

I wonder how you managed to deal with weather helm. I built a custom design gaff rigged yacht but it's almost unsailable even though the CoE is forward of centre of lat resistance She looks spectacular btw! Well done!

Thanks,there is no weather helm.With the jib topsail on it has a bit of Lee helm.

Real boat is 41Ft, Model is 6'6" or 2 meters (not counting the bowsprit)

How big is that Britannia? And does use a scale keel or a fin keel? Looking to possibly build one about 2.3 m long.

Britannia's hull is 2.1 Meters long and 2.75 Meters from bowsprit to the end of the boom. It uses a scale keel covered with around 900 pieces of copper shim. You can see more of her in this video taken on the same day, kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hcWjgcZ_qdO6d30.html

Hi, I have a sailboat I am going to restore , My grandmother can remember this boat from around 1940. Her grandfather was a boat builder in England and came to Australia around 1910. I would like to get an email address or some sort of contact to send pictures and get some advice. Its similar in shape to Britannia shown in this video. It was rebuilt in about 1975 after by my father but it needs another rebuild after years of neglect. I got it about 12 months ago and am a keen RC enthusiast . I would like to restore it and set it up with RC. Originally it was set up as a self tacker . Any assistance would be great
