interesting video and coment from David... and seeing as you are going on a course David on the customer experience, I'd just like to add that I think that BA have some way to go match the level of service we receive on some of the other world class airlines such as Cathay, Singapore, Lufthansa, Qatar, Emirates... I'm talking about longer flights to Middle and Far East (business and economy) which I do frequently.. the little things that make the flight more enjoyable for me are the attention and attitude of the crew, the quality of food, the IFE (so many time's I've had a dodgy screen and poor audio).. I have to say my biggest complaint is other passengers to be honest, who take off their shoes and socks, have smelly feet or BO, who recline their seats (in economy) while I'm eating my meal and I have to look at the top of their head while they flick their long hair into my food.. I never recline my seat out of respect for the people behind me, and I expect the same from those in front, and whenever I've complained to the people themselves or the crew, again my complaints are ignored. On one occassion the female passenger in front of me spat at me and her male friend physically threatened me.. I'm a passive guy, non aggressive.. all I want to do is relax quietly, enjoy the flight, and get to my destination without any stress.. flying these days has become too stressful for me, unless I I travel business, but considering the cost I can only do that 3 or 4 times a year, the rest of the time I have to go economy

I've only been on short haul BA flights (six of them in the last year). On these, there is very little difference between BA and easyJet except that BA is much more expensive! As Noel says in the video, BA cabin crew are always very good- but in my experience so are easyJet's. How about bringing back some free food on BA short haul economy class to enhance the experience? Perhaps you could point this out on your course which I hope goes well.

Jonathan P if my seat reclines I will recline it, its a feature Im paying for and if I dont recline my back hurts in long flights, of course i will let you know first and wont do it when you are eating but dont expect me not to recline my seat.

From my experiences with BA on long haul flights from LHR to JFK the staff have been fantastic. I cant say the same for the short haul flights within Europe. I always am flying at the front of the plane as I am 200cm tall, but BA wont allow me to book row 1 seats as my status isnt high enough and my legs dont fit in the other business class seats. The lack of interest from the staff as to my difficulties was a marked difference to what i have experienced on long haul flights and the lack of interest from customer relations has also been noticeable. It is a shame because I did enjoy the service, and always enjoyed the tea service on the flights to JFK. Shame I have to fly a different airline within Europe, but try to maintain the old standards of service and dont let this new breed become the norm.

Checking in here a bit late, but I’ve also had outstanding experiences where BA has reunited me with lost property promptly and reassuringly. The most notable was once when I left my passport onboard a First Class flight in, which I only noticed as I went through flight connections. I was almost certainly visibly panicking and the ground staff calmed me down, did everything to assure that they were communicating to locate my passport, escorted me into the lounge to wait, and I’ll never forget the moment an enthusiastic young ground staff bounded into the Concorde Room with my passport, ready to explain that my passport had really fallen way down into the space next to the seat, and even after they saw it, it took a long time to get it out. Another time I realised I’d left my iPad on a short haul service from Nice. What I hadn’t realised even just yet is that I had left my wallet with it. As I’m standing in the baggage hall to enquire about the iPad, the crew find me, one of them saying, “yes, that looks like the gentleman” (referring to the pic on my ID card in my wallet). So they solved a problem I didn’t even know about yet (my missing wallet) and then proceeded to locate my iPad and have it brought to me. Lest it seem like I am very forgetful, I was flying with BA enough to be Gold for ten years in a row in those days, so there were a lot of flights. They were always excellent, but it’s the exceptional moments like leaving something onboard that show me just how good they are.

Genki's Travels couldn’t agree more. It always seems like people just hate BA some reason. Personally I don’t see why, every airline has some good products and some bad products and people seem to always focus on the bad with BA.

I had the opportunity to fly BA as part of a RTW trip and apart from the seats I couldn’t agree with the video more. Unfortunately being an Australian, I have to say Qantas was the worst - terrible food and even worse flight attendants

I flew BA loads of times and nothing is wrong with them, I have no clue what people are complaining about.

The planes on that route are SO old :( the IFE is an embarrassment. They dont seem to care about the "holiday" routes.

Andy S we had a very old Ife system so we could only watched a few movies even when I flew premium economy

@@frostyy3345 old lined compactive screens. Some are B&W some dont work. Boxes at every seat group so little leg room. compared to other routes the 747s on the Miami run are so poor.

Andy S that was probably with economy class , in premium they were amazing , fresh hot towel , pre departure drink and it was a very smooth flight

I agree, I had only 2 flights on BA, both in Business class on their A380 and 777 even though alot of people bash their old biz product I liked it alot and the staff were excellent for the most part

Plane Sense I’ve only been in business class once for LHR-MAD on the 777 (only time I could afford it). Been on premium economy 3 times across Atlantic and only annoying time was being in the 777 with the old IFE screen but I know they’re getting replaced

Yeh same and the business class (club world) is the most criticised but I’ve flown on that 8 times and never had a bad experience

King MfCh I think it’s only criticised because it’s old compared to many other airlines that have 1-2-1 config. Hence why they have the new config in the A350
