British Columbia Late December Blacktail Deer Hunt 2023

I sure pushed the limits on the season with this one. The bitter end, came sweet and successful. On this beautiful mountainous island I manage to get my first Blacktail deer with a bow. I love everything about this hunt. Can’t wait to be back in paradise in the future. Gotta love the coast.

Great video, really appreciate your uploads. I, myself just starting off in hunting (also live in BC), and since I don't know anyone who hunts so learning all from videos like yours and books is all I can do, maybe one day I could tag along during one of your hunts. The days that make you think twice about going outside… let along in the forest. Those are the best days for blacktail on our islands.

Congrats on the successful hunt man! It definitely is a special little island. Didn’t have time to make it for the late archery this year, but I made it over during the rifle season for a quick weekend trip. Loved the footage of the fawns 👌

Been watching a bunch of your videos for a while now and like your content. Moving from the Skeena Valley down to the North Okanagan this spring if everything goes well. Seems like really nice country down there and lots of game. Congrats on your deer, it's tough to beat Blacktails for eating, so good and almost never gamey even in the rut. Have done many hunts in the Queen Charlotte's, if you ever get the chance to head up there it's a lot of fun.

Great video as always👍 Your ability find success on a fraction of a budget compared to other hunters is awesome. I have friends who've spent thousands on gear and scoff at going there for "tiny blacktails", but also haven't cut a tag on a deer anywhere else...🤔 Is there a way one can get a dm to you. I might have a tidbit of info if you were to head back there next year.

Thanks for watching as usual. I feel like a lot of the hunting industry is based on marketing and a lot of people feel that if they get the best gear then maybe they’ll get the best deer. Very uncommon to find success in that sense. Hunt more, and success will hopefully follow is what I like to go by. Thanks for the great comment and if you have instagram you can DM on there.
