Whilst they are head of law no-one can take over the courts. While they are ultimately the Head of the armed forces whom the person pledges allegiance too no would be dictator can take over the Armed forces. The Monarch's powers in short is to deny power to others and any attempt to change this must be firmly resisted!!

@@jmundi2002 well to put it down to the brass tacks her Grandmother Victoria ruled over ¼ of the worlds population so accumulated wealth for one that and her father and herself were rather shurde with money. Also in regards to carragws etc its pomp and ceremony one thing the British do well is pomp and circumstance also the Queen does pay tax and moneys raised from royal estates help as well.

She really is the longest reigning monarch in history. Louis XIV doesn’t count as he became king when he was like 2 years old so he had a regent for a long time.

He is King of the United Kingdom. England has not been an independent state since 1707 and hasn’t had a separate King since the Scottish Crown took over the English Crown in 1603. Learn history.

In 1603 the Scottish Crown took over the English one - the monarch called King of Great Britain although the countries themselves remained separate (hence why it’s called The Union of the Crown) and in 1707 Scotland and England entered into political Union, the monarch of which today being called the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. I grew up in Scotland I know what I’m talking about.
