I remember one of his fights when we had to go to the cable company and get a special box for pay per view. The line was long. Lots of people were wanting to watch it. When we got home, invited people over, got so pumped for the fight, and it was over in 60 seconds! 🤣🤣 good memories 😁

The one thing this video totally misses is what incredible sportsmanship Tyson was known for in his first half decade or so. He never failed to help and support his failed opponents after their loses, and was always quick to say kind words and praise directly to everyone he beat immediately after his victory. He was 100% focused on getting the job done in the ring, but the moment he had his victory he became the most noble sort of competitor any sport could hope for. I've heard it was changes in his corner that changed him (the trainer they mentioned maybe?) but he once set the bar for showing compassion in victory.

Tyson grew up on the streets and got arrested dozens of times for fighting until he met Cus D’Amato. Cus took him in and trained him, he even adopted Mike and treated him as a son.

Tyson was the most dominant fighter in history because of Cus. I think a little piece of him died with Cus. He was the only person who truly cared for him. At his age, with his fame, losing the only mentor he ever had is tough. All this to say,, Prime Tyson was untouchable and something I'll never forget

That girl who accused him accused her high school bf of the same thing, but he called her and recorded it and she admitting to lying because her dad was a preacher and found out and she didn't want to get in trouble. Tyson was represented by a tax lawyer, not a criminal defense lawyer as he should've been. The details are wild.

It was a sham case. Mike was walking around telling all them girls what he wanted. Who gets invited to a room that late, after hearing a man say he want some skin, after he probably sent her home, she thought she had a paycheck. He did not rape her. They tried to suppress Witnesses and everything. He was walking around saying he wanted some skins, how more blatant could that be?

People thought he couldn't win because of his height difference and reach but because he was so agile and shorter and trained so insanely good by cus d'mato that his footwork and defense was insanelly good so he used shorter height as leverage that's why he could punch so hard and knock people out so easily. Easily the most entertaining ferocious boxers in history!

He lost it after cus Dana to died. Tyson was like a son to him. Cus was like a father to mike. Once the trainers left and Don king took over it all came crashing down. Tyson used to train in the Catskills mountains where British boxer Lennox Lewis would train sometimes.

Tyson fought Professionally from 1985 to 2005. He won 50 fights and lost 6. Those who beat him are; Buster Douglas__Evander Holyfield (twice; although Tyson lost for biting Holyfield twice)__Lennox Lewis__Danny Williams__Kevin McBride (Tyson's last fight in 2005; Tyson pretty much sat down and quit).

I do kind of wish they showed a couple of these keep fights better like his first championship when he won by knocking the guy down three times which was the Michael spinks was a body shot that knocked him down he beat the count and then got knocked out

I remember my family would have parties for the big fights. We'd cook lots of food and have tons of people over. Then we'd all get comfortable and sit down to watch the fight, only them to always be over in about a minute.

The only downside to watching the Tyson fights is they were pay per view. So you paid a bunch of money to get access to watch it and they always ended so quick!

Tyson is from our generation born in the mid 1960's & in the 80's there always be a huge fight party (like we needed a reason) for every Tyson fight. I remember the Spinks knockout in 90 seconds very well. A bunch of us watched the Douglas fight & through most of it I remember thinking this ain't the Tyson we know.

Tyson grew up in a juvie jail like 20 mins from my house. There were stories told all over the state about him as a kid. You should see his workout videos now. Dude could still fight.

Two things I recall while watching him fight. First was the sound of his punches were just different than other boxers. Second is his admission that he smoked pot before a lot of his fights to relax himself. With his furiousity I can't imagine what an unrelaxed Mike Tyson would be like 😅

The funny (or not so funny thing) about the Spinx fight (91 second KO) was that so many people spent money to watch it live on TV. I heard many stories that as the fight begun people were getting a beer, going to the bathroom or getting some popcorn and by the time they came back it was over😂😂😂😂 awww man. So fast powerful AND smart. People always leave that out😏

I watched his fights live (on TV) when he was in his prime. We truly thought he was invincible. You probably can't understand his level of popularity in the culture as he was one of the last heavyweight boxers who achieved that level of celebrity. Someone may again one day, but it hasn't happened yet.

It cost like $200.00 to get the Spinks/Tyson fight on pay-per-view. We had about 30 guys sitting around. The guy who PAID for the Pay-per-view had to go to the bathroom as the fight began and by the time he came out of the bathroom the fight was OVER and people were leaving...😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Rick Charleston SC

Number 1 rule when watching a Mike Tyson fight...watch ONLY the fight. Turn you head to speak to someone or even sneeze and you may very well miss the knockout punch. In his prime Mike Tyson was the baddest man on the planet.

About the Buster Douglas fight ..a perfect storm had formed...Tyson had signed with Don King. ( his biggest mistake ever ..new trainers and manager )...Mike wasn't training like he had been....Buster Douglas mother had just died and he dedicated the fight to her and trained like he never had before

Tyson fought beginning in the late 80s and was dominant until he changed management teams, then surrounded himself with the ring people. After he finally lost his first fight he struggled a bit. But in his time he was as dominant as Ali or Marciano.

We use to get the pay per view on cable for the fights. It was $20 or 30, but they were over so fast we made a drinking game to race Tyson. Get drunk before the KO, We never won

Mike Tyson said in his early days of boxing he went into the ring ready to kill the other person. Every swing was an attempt to break the persons face. If you watch some of his early fights it was scary how aggressive he was.

I was a kid back when Tyson started fighting so I never really watched him but I remember all the hype about him. It almost became a sort of joke because people would pay extra money for the cable TV special event boxing match, many people holding watch parties at their house for the match. Only to end up with a fight that ended in the 1st or 2nd round. On one hand people were disappointed to pay money to see the event, maybe even holding a large watch party at their house for a fight that ended in a mere 90 seconds. On the other hand they loved seeing such an incredible fighter who was clearly dominating in his sport.

Mike at times was brutal and a very powerful puncher... A google search stated that Mike fought from 1985 thru 2005. He did not suffer fools. If you talk smack to Mike, you had better have the ass to back that talk up. Or he would punish you!! I have noticed over yhe tears that when you watch the sweat fly off of their head from a punch, it is usually over. May I suggest another heavy puncher of a fighter for you two to review. His name will live forever in boxing lore -- that man was Rocky Marciano. He was active from 1947 thru 1955. He was undefeated in his career. He hurt people!!!! Check out some of his old fights. This is to the young lady, brace yourself this is violent..... The Rock was a stud of a man and a great fighter..... Check him out you two!!!

Tyson's story is so tragic. To have everyone good in his life be taken away or pushed away and replaced by all the negative influences the good people used to protect him from. The manipulator Don King, the predator Robin Givens. And right when Tyson fully loses his way, stops caring about boxing, stays up all night partying, that's when he gets screwed over in Tokyo, with the ref basically giving Buster Douglas a 15 count, letting him continue when it should have been a Tyson victory. Then it all came crashing down. I'm glad that he was able to recover and become a likeable public figure, appearing in movies and going on podcasts. But still you wonder what could have been.

Some people try and knock Mike Tyson saying that he fought tin cans AKA weak boxers who were not near him in the rankings. This is in fact half-true, it got to a point when he was so dominant and terrifying that boxers he should have been fighting as far as rankings, didn't want to get in the ring and fight Mike. The only people who would agree to fight Mike we're higher-ranked guys who just wanted the payday. He wasn't fighting them because his Camp wanted him to have easy wins, he was fighting them because the people he should have been fighting we're in fact scared to fight him

There is something you always have to keep in mind when you're looking at young fighters early records. When anyone is identified as a possible championship contender they are intentionally matched up against garbage fighters. There is a reason every new championship contender you see has an undefeated record with mostly knockout wins. They want to build as much hype as possible around that guy so that when they ultimately start putting him in the ring with other legitimate fighters it becomes a huge draw. Now that's not to say that Tyson didn't knock out plenty of legit fighters because he did. But he also undeniably benefited from fighting a ton of bums early in his career, like so many others have.

Stewart's record was 26 knockouts in his 26 wins meaning he had won all of his fights by knockout making him a very dangerous fighter. Knockout artists like that are always dangerous. They didn't say he had been knocked down or out 26 times.

Mike Tyson should have won that fight against Busyer Douglas. Earlier in the fight he dropped Douglas and the ref was late to start the count. Douglas had 12 seconds to get up which he did. Still boggles the mind that after all that the boxing community and Tyson knowing boxing history so well, signed with Don King. It was a serious lapse of judgment. The history was already known by everyone and I mean everybody. I don't know why anybody would side with him after 1984, he was already known throughout boxing and even outside of boxing. It was a strange thing for Mike Tyson to sign on to
