A LOT of these home runs were hit between the hours of 11pm and 1am. They were at the end of long, very important games. Games that could have been 3-4 hours long, sometimes even longer. Sometimes they were the difference between your season being over, and continuing to play for a championship. Hours and hours of stress and anxiety, then, 'BOOM'. In an instant you go from being on the brink of a nervous breakdown, to being on top of the world. As a lifelong baseball fan I have had, MANY of these moments, it's an unexplainable feeling really

Big hits are great, but you should definitely react to one about the best defensive plays. In my opinion that is the most exciting thing because anyone on the field can make a crazy play that can save their team at any given moment. It seems like any time there is a no-hitter there is always a spectacular play made to save the game.

The first clip was the 2013 wild card game between the Pittsburgh pirates and the Cincinnati reds. This was the first playoff game the pirates had played in 21 years and I was fortunate enough to go. The crowd was chanting “Cueto” to rattle pitcher Johnny Cueto and it worked. We went on to win the game but lose in the next round of the playoffs. We haven’t won a playoff game since and haven’t made the playoffs since 2015. Hopefully that changes soon.

Both the laid back relaxed vibe, and the maximum live and die by each pitch are both true aspects of baseball depending on the game and time of year. Division, historic and crosstown rivals can have similar intensity every time out (Red Sox vs Yankees, Dodgers vs Giants, Yankees vs Mets, Cubs vs White Sox etc) When baseball is intense though, nothing beats it.

If you have a crappy team that's out of it by mid summer, it's go get some hotdogs and cotton candy with the kids. But if your team's in it, every pitch is intense. You know when a soccer team goes to penalties? It's like 3 straight hours of that.

I grew up outside of San Francisco and went to many games at Candlestick Park to watch either the Giant’s (My team) and the A’s. The last game I saw with my grandfather and father 3:07 in Candlestick was the day Ricky Henderson broke Lou Brock’s stolen base record. I still have my t-shirt from that game and all three ticket stubs as they have both passed now. I watched the playoffs in 2010 at Fisherman’s Warf with just a crap tonne of people. When they won the World Series that year, after a 56 year dry spell, they sold out every stadium for the next 530 games. That’s 3 seasons! They won again in 2012 and 2014. We’re in another dry spell. lol. You live and die with your team here, just like football fans do, but man, Giant’s fans die a lot. 😂 We love our team though. For most I my life, I said ‘we love our boys’, but now we have women on the team too! 😊 We were the first team to hire a female MLB assistant coach to coach on the field. It isn't only the home runs that make the crowd yell. I was at a Milwaukee Brewers game last summer where the Brewers won on an error in the bottom of the 10th inning. We made plenty of noise for that. It was my birthday, too.

The reason that Archie Bradley (the bearded ginger at the end that got to 3rd base) hit was significant was because he is a pitcher and pitchers didn't get to hit hardly ever back then (they don't at all now)

Fun fact: From 8:08-9:32 are all from the same game. The home team, Astros, were stealing signs illegally and knew every pitch that was coming to them and were able to tie the game multiple times. They got caught in late 2019 but got off with a slap on the wrist.

Most baseball stadiums can sit more than 37,000 people and for playoff games, are mostly sold out(looking at you Tampa Bay). Not in the video but I was at the LA Dodgers vs Atlanta Braves 2018 NLDS game 3 where after a walk to the pitcher, Ronald Acuna Jr hit a 3-1 fastball for a Grand Slam. Loudest moment ever at a sports stadium for me! My 2 favorites calls are the Freese walk-off in Game 6 call and then the David Ortiz walk-off home run(5:30) to force another game.

I wish you had some context for some of these games! It would help you to appreciate these moments a lot more when you get a bit of the backstory to add to the drama. There's player rivalries that the fans go crazy for, the dueling franchises in the same divisions that are always entertaining games to watch, there's improbable come-backs and wild finishes, games that went into extra innings (a regular game has 9), and the personal stories of glory for veteran stars and rookies alike. Been going to Blue Jays games in Toronto for years, and in my experience, no game was wilder or louder than Game 5 of the American League Division Series in 2015 between Toronto and their hated season rival, the Texas Rangers. That whole series was entertaining, but in this final playoff matchup, winner moves on, loser goes home, and Toronto had to even the series on the road to even force a fifth game. Game 5 would be played on Toronto's home field, and for 6 innings it was pretty tense, with Texas leading by 1 run. That seventh inning, something strange kept happening and the Rangers really good defense started making critical mistakes on routine plays. It loaded the bases for the Blue Jays and that's when Jose Bautista steps up to the plate and just CRUSHES the ball into the upper deck for a 3 run homer ( @09:56 ). The fans were screaming and shaking the stadium, and it took them 20 minutes to calm them down enough in order to resume the game. Literally blew the roof off the stadium. That euphoria you get when you rewatch those sorts of plays as a fan will take your breath away.

That is a domed stadium , meaning it has a closed roof on it .. Unlike the others where fireworks were going off in the night sky from open air stadiums .

I would say a lot of American kids dreamed up the perfect scenario where it's the bottom of the 9th, bases loaded, your team is down by 3, full count (3 balls & 2 strikes) and 2 outs. You then hit a gram slam and win the game. This video basically gave different versions of that for a lot of homeruns. Just something to add. Yes the ball is hard but you do see a good number of people going to the game bringing their own baseball glove hoping to catch a ball.
