Thanks for sharing. I´ve such a Smock for years now. It´s a great piece of kit. That thing works very good in inclement weather. Good choice! Regards from Germany

@@samrussell0331 I think it is key to treat it well when it comes to washing it. Choose a hot wash cycle and put it in the dryer afterwards. Now spray it really well with water repellent, like really wet. Then back into the dryer to set the repellent in. Of course it's not like a Gore Tex jacket or a nylon poncho, but really, really good. Always in mind: the smock is an outer layer, so the prerequisite is you are decent dressed under it 😉 Then it works well for me, try it.

The older 94 pattern jacket was better. If you actually look at the kit list for an infantry man to carry in his combat jacket it's a lot, even more if you are section commander.

The hood should be wired already, so you can fold it to your face.

Speaking of smocks, 0241 tactical every once in a while has a excellent variety, they usually sell out quick though.
