Just looked up what happened to him: Spencer apologized for what he described as "this ridiculously ugly episode" but initially refused to step down, saying that the show's producers had exploited him "for profit and notoriety".[45][46] He said that Baron Cohen and the television crew had falsely promised that he would be able to review and approve the final footage before release.[37] Spencer later announced his resignation on July 24,[47] effective as of July 31.[48]

This show actually helped uncover a human trafficking operation. Watch the episode where he poses as an Italian photographer looking to purchase a yacht. Sacha Baron Cohen is truly one of the most brilliant artists of the 21st century

This show was amazing and after the first episode aired, Sasha just said we hadn't seen nothing yet and it would only get wilder and wilder each episode. :D

Myself and many of our mutual friends were shocked when we saw our rapper friend rap battle against him!! lol. When I sent him a message the night it aired, he sent me a voice memo saying thanks and stuff, and how he has been getting blown up. He couldn't say anything about it prior, due to contract. At the time apparently everyone had an idea something was up, but no one realized it was Cohen.

Sacha baron Cohen spoke about making this show on the round table he was annoyed with what was happening in America at the time so decided to go out and humiliate politicians like Rudy giuliani

He does try to target some Democrats as well, but when they fall for it they generally don't fall nearly as hard and have lines they don't cross. He even targeted Bernie Sanders, but couldn't get him to go nearly as far. The two best anti-Republican bits from Sacha are this one, and one where he gets Rudy Giuliani into serious trouble in Borat 2. Also honourable mention for when he goes out campaigning with a Republican as Borat.

Even the times he has gone for them you can see that they’re getting suspicious relatively early, and they refuse to do some of the more outlandish requests because they know it’s not a good look. Basically: the cleverest Republicans are just as clever as the cleverest Democrats, but the stupidest Republicans are *way* stupider than the stupidest Democrats.

Somehow the religious right has embraced a conman who was anything but self built, divorced multiple times because he doesn’t want women that age, worships money, and then also ran as a democrat before switching to the GOP. A man that claims he’s rich, but don’t ask for proof, just trust him. 🤣🤦‍♀️ A man that openly brags about cheating and buying Miss USA to be able to go in the changing room! Never went to church a day in his life but somehow all that is overlooked?? Give me a frigin break. They did push Bernie except he looked around and left. Why? He’s been right on things and yet blasted by everyone for being “crazy ol Bernie”. No one listens, then it’s like “oh no, who could have predicted that banks would fail, AGAIN, after getting rid of regulations put on them after 08?”. Bernie did but both sides were paid off to remove them. Almost like if they are given the ability to cheat they will?

Lol, I love how often people trying to mock, imitate, or otherwise reference Chinese culture, or any other south-east asian culture, mix and match totally different nations of totally different cultures. "Red Dragon, Sushi" Sushi is Japanese. Always Sunny in Philadelphia at least did it deliberately as satire, when they were going to China Town for a news story, such as "Street Drifting" and "Raiden" (Mortal Kombat), and other Tokyo/Japan references. But yeah, you see tons of mixing in references all the time. Chinese/Japanese are probably the most common, but so many for the many other nations, too.

I know they do try to tailor this stuff, but at the end of the day, the people still need to do and say it, and Baron Cohen isn't full on like tricking people into thinking they are acting for a scripted role or some shit, and then framing it as real to make them look bad. Also, hate me all you want, but I get some possible value to an idea of not allowing a muslim face cover on a woman, in a sense of not adhering to conservative muslim stances towards women, and their role and restrictions and rules in society. To be opposed to that, isn't being opposed to muslims. It's opposing a specific type of ideological rule that many Americans would feel is unfair towards women. I'm not saying I agree with it, just, that it isn't the craziest thing IMO. But it goes further downhill fast from there, lol. The rest is entirely wild.

The Mexican party is another fantastic one And there's a really good video about Sasha baron Cohen and how he took the traditions from clown school and modernised it from the channel Wise Crack.That's how he gets people to do ridiculous things
