I think a good buff to this focus would be to do a focus that is similar to the imperial federation focus, but idk how would that work? or maybe it could be just like COMINFORM from the USSR tree Also if they remove the +10 pp cost for conceding to the trade unions, it would make UOB at least a bit more balanced Additionally, purging the upper class seems to be very bad - if it gives a bunch of new, decent commanders, I wouldnt mind doing so then

Letting you create a faction of communist independent states, plummeting compliance in other asian and african colonies with all the tech and industry sharing bonuses could be very powerful. It should let you pick the ideology the countries and dominions decolonise to/add a heavy drift and then inviye the dominions to freely join. Imo that would give some hefty boosts.

With the commanders you should be able to institute officer elections, that will take some control out of your hands but randomly give you commanders with a mix of stat ranges to replace the old generals

Ngl Dave, when you pointed out that Britain just leaving certain places would cause conflict, that's exactly what happened in the Middle East after Britain left in 1946, they just disappeared and so did all governmental structure and social order. For a long time those places were(tbh are still) warlord-run hellholes, because British govt. was like, "f this, we don't want to deal with these stupid ethnic tensions, you guys can just have your independence and deal with it all yourselves."

a focus that could be cool for decolonisation stuff would be like proposing to the local elite to emigrate and you get an increase of local pop, prod etc in your provinces so flat manpower bonus and research/building bonus in exchange of releasing colonies. Then you can also imagine that right gets like 10% and you play a game of balance with your political party and stability. I think that'd be a funny way to make decolonisation viable

i think it would also be ok if they made it so you could be more selective in decolonisation (like by making some big communist dominions like you have with canada australia etc in your other territories) because i think doing decolonisation good but the 1) slowdown and 2) actual game bad

I think a way to make decolonization worth it is to make it give you a permanent consumer goods reduction of 10-15% (due to not having to spend money on colonial ventures anymore), increased political power gain of 0.5 per day (because the British people will have been made more lenient towards liberating the colonies in a communist-dominated society and thus will see its success as a big step forward), and maybe a big increase in stability of like 30%, with the communists in power framing this as a way for Britain to focus more on its people instead of keeping hold on foreign resources. Is this a perfect way to make this path worth it? No. Is this really balanced? I don’t think so, but I think following through the whole way with decolonizing should give BIG bonuses to encourage people to actually follow through with it, because otherwise it’s completely pointless to do.

Every time I've seen france defend the Czech's they hold Bohemia forever. Even if Germany doesn't go to war with soviets. I defended them as dem France and held the line vs them and the soviets together without Britain with a -20 stability modifier until 1943 I broke Italy cuz mussolini got deposed lol. Britain joined cuz Ethiopia rebelled, then I took both Germany and soviets, and eventually Japan. And the US did jack all.

No, you see it makes sense. The Czechs originally migrated from around the Carpathians and the Black Sea, where the border between europe and Asia is generally placed. This means that the Asian Czechs need to be saved from western imperialist domination and placed under -Japanese imperialist domination- benevolent Japanese Pan-Asian friendship.

Cant you do "secure the dominions"? Im pretty sure that if you have over a million manpower in the field and inside your puppets they wont leave. They will increase their autonomy though. This focus also works with the fascists. It must be taken early to prevent them from pre emtively leaving. This prevents war and also makes Imperial Federation easier as it does not chamge country tags.

IIRC the commies are on a *very* tight schedule because the timer for the dominions to break ties starts when you take 'A Change in Course', but then you have to waste a full year flipping communist before you're allowed to start securing anybody. You also struggle to have enough PP to declare martial law in time, since 90% of what you get from the decolonization path goes directly back into the decisions to flip communist. I think if you plan ahead and *really* pump out divisions you can consistently get 2-3 of the small dominions, but it's a struggle to get all 5 or India and anybody else. Been a while since I tried the path though so it's possible I'm misremembering or outdated. Also securing the dominions honestly doesn't give you *that* much benefit. You either have to lock yourself out of the imperial federation anyways, or if you plan on trying to win the 'unwinnable' civil war the dominions will side against you.

I generally enjoy the communist paths for the majors (especially the ones that don't exist, like Germany), but the UK's does need a touch-up. That said, I believe all of the decolonization focuses can be completed in just under 2 years so you can wait until actually flipping to complete them. That's arguably the better choice since they're more likely to stay with you, at least in the faction.
