British national anthem - God save the Queen , organ

11 жыл бұрынGod save the Queen (or God save the King) is one of the most beautiful anthems.
What you can hear in this video is my free improvisation at the organ.
Its origins go back to 1745 and although not foreseen by national legislation is played and partied in all territories of the British Empire, so it's not only the English anthem.
The melody was composed by order of King George II Hanover but the author is still unknown, there is speculation that it may have been written by Carey or Bull.
At the end of the description the complete text of the hymn.

Quella che potete ascoltare in questo video è una mia libera improvvisazione all'organo.
Le sue origini risalgono al 1745 e pur non essendo previsto da una legge nazionale è suonato e festeggiato in tutti i territori dell'Impero Britannico, quindi non è solo l'inno inglese.
La melodia fu composta su ordine di Re Giorgio II Hannover ma l'autore è tutt'ora sconosciuto, si ipotizza che possa essere stata scritta da Carey o Bull.

Really! It's one of the best versions I have ever heard! It's better than when it is played in Westminster Abbey! Congratulations.... You should come here in London and play it at the Garden Party, here in Buckingham Palace.

M Scott There are Hauptwerk organ consoles where you need a PC and loudspeakers. You can put that in the garden. Otherwise, there is also a large organ in Buckingham Palace.

I suppose this is the perfect sample set for the piece. This is truly one of the nicest arrangements I've heard of the anthem. I especially love the trumpet stop on the swell.

Played Magnificently!! It's one of my favorite pieces of music with the words of "God Save the Queen/King." You play it beautifully. I'm of Italian nobility on my father's side and Italian nobility on my mother's side. As well on my mother's side, I'm a 4 times great nephew of S.S. Leonis pp XIII and a great grand nephew of S.S. This rendition of 'God Save the Queen' is absolutely amazing! You couldn't possibly do Parry's 'Jerusalem' could you? It's one of the unofficial anthems of England and is incredibly beautiful.

This is a very good version. Often our beautiful national anthem is played too slowly and quietly, and sung in a flat key (at football matches etc) which makes it sound dull, which it is not. By the way, the verse that begins 'O Lord Our God arise' is usually placed as the third verse (and is very rarely sung nowadays as it is considered by some to be anti-Scottish).
