Shower curtains are not provided by the landlord, you buy one at a supermarket and hang it yourself. That's how we do it in Finland. Some showers do have glass walls, stationary or turnable. And the water, you can save a plastic soda bottle and fill it with tap water and carry it with you.

I couldn't use a shower curtain after someone else. It's a good thing that when moving, people throw the old one to the trash, and new occupant gets a new curtain for them self. Imagine all the goo that would thrive in the curtain... iuh

😂😢😅❤That shower thing always makes me smile😊. PLS, somebody tell her that she is missing the curtain or what not😂😂. The frame is kinda there around the shower. Water is expensive, cause we got pure filtered water for free everywhere. Just like using plastic shopping bags, bring your own re-usable bag.❤

On 9.: We all need our own time and space. After a few years it’s easier to get along in the same house. Not for too long, though 😂

She has used to live in tropical environment and so she doesn't understand living in northern environment. She could have asked a Finnish person about about the shower curtain, for example. The standards and practices of living in Finland can differ a lot from the standards and practices of, for example, Panama or the USA.

Many showers don't have a shower curtain. I have just one glass wall, and it is so easy to scrape the water off the floor with a scraper. I think people think it looks better. I could install a shower curtain if I wanted to. Air is pretty dry anyway, but many people have underfloor heating in the bathroom.

I don't know where she bought water. It's not that expensive. You can get 1L of apple juice from Lidl for 90 cents

Not everyone drinks milk with food! A lot of kids do though.

Earlier we drank Milk with food, everbody did it. It has changed the last 25 years, now people drink more water or something else. In the nordic countries milk has played a very important role.

Sure we drink milk to pancakes, porridge and stuff. But I grew up with light pilsner being the most typical with lunch or dinner here in central Sweden. However, that started becoming less common during the 1990s. Perhaps due to the influence of new religions, not sure.

I have like 7 different jackets just for the seasons. in the summer you rarely need them but yeah, for rain, for wind, for snow, for warmth etc, its like oh I'm going outside and then you have to think that am I going to be outside for 20 minutes or more because that also affects what jacket to wear.. and you use different ones during spring and different ones autumn and winter because the temperature changes are so large.

I've got several leather coats and jackets with removable liners that makes possible to wear them in autumn, winter and spring. In early autumn and late spring I can wear them without liners, and in the middle of summer I've got lighter jackets or I don't need a jacket at all. In the middle of winter I can wear really warm shirt under my coat or I can wear special winter coats for cold weather. A good winter coat is so warm you might have only a T-shirt under it. I'm rather warm-blooded and if I had too much clothes, I would be sweating like a lying pig.

That is common here in Nordic countries. We also have long history for deary products and milk used to be very important for centuries to get nutritions, vitamines, fat & etc.. And milk has been able to get all around the year. As i have lived all my life here in Finland & Sweden and i didn´t even realise that so common thing as milk in here ain´t so common everywhere.

I drink skinned milk (in Finnish rasvaton maito aka kurri) with my main meal of the day, and I drink coffee with light cream (10 % fat) but no sugar. I also eat breakfast cereal with milk, and a traditional Finnish rice porridge is made with milk.

i think the nordic "habit" of drinking milk is falling back to the early times - milk had a lot of fat and nutritiants that were needed, not only in cheese and butter but as a part of the "normal" food - and since we did have this neat litlle mutation that allowed grown uops to continue to digest milk it was a cheap way to add calories to the table.

As i was young and turned 18, i started to look for my own apartment to get h*ll out to the freedom. At least here if you are 20 and you live with your parents everybody thinks you are somekind of weirdo. Also when you live alone you can do things that you would shame to do infront of your parents. Like drinking, having one night stand and so on. And what is better than privacy if you have sex with someone?! I could never do that in my room knowing that my parents would propably hear me humping someone 😂. Also it would´ve been so embarecing after night out to wake up with some girl in hangover knowing that your parents are home and propably heard your private joys of night and that those partners would change alot.

You don't get student benefits if you live with your parents. Meaning they have to pay your food and everything. When you live on your own, you get money to do whatever you want. I moved on my own, when I was 15y. Mother had one less mouth to feed. And after all, parents' job is to raise kids to be functioning adults. How can anyone grow up to take care of themselves, when someone is doing everything on their behalf? Perhaps she went to the R-kioski to buy the water. I don't know why someone would buy water anyway. It's free and everywhere.
