That's one thing country music seems to be able to capture, the pride and respect most of us have for where we come from. Anyone in rural areas are raised on the value of hard work and community. I personally am more of a rock, metal fan but some of these songs make me nostalgic. I don't ever remember a time when my dad didn't have country playing in the old barn turned workshop well he worked on cars, or My mom singing out in full voice well she cooked. Lost count of how many times I sat and listened to my grandfather sing and play old hank songs or been carried away by some unknown bands just playing in the park on hot summer nights, watching fireflies dance as a kid.

Good catch on the Charlie Daniels reference. Your musical education is coming along nicely. This song always makes me think of a particular piece of property that I own. I think in terms that I am just the current caretaker of it and wonder about those who came before me. Powerful song indeed.

The Shelton Mullet - You said you dream about it. Are you sure you didn’t mean that you have nightmares? 🤣🤣 He gets teased about that mullet all the time. He’s a great sport about it though. Blake has a great sense of humor.

I love the way this video used real film and photos from the dust bowl of the 1930s, gave some historical value to the land. This song always puts a chill of pride in me, probably because I am the daughter of farming people and a daughter of the Confederacy.

I'm not a big fan of modern mainstream country since it turned pop, (I listen to older country and Texas country music etc) but they nailed this song. The video was a damn good idea. It reminds you to give appreciation to the folks making our food. That dust bowl was devastating and could happen again...like in Interstellar. He's from Oklahoma, one of the states where the dust bowl hit, so that kinda adds to it emotion I think.

You can see Blake's hair again in the Austin and The Baby videos :). Two of his best songs actually. Austin was his first single - and my very favorite by him. Though he has man fantastic songs. Can't wait for you to delve deeper into the rabbit hole. We also have some amazing country artists here in Canada, Besides Shania - there is Emerson Drive (Moments), Paul Brandt (That's the Truth, I Do, My Heart Has a History, The Little Space Between), Johnny Reid (Darlin, Missing an Angel), George Canyon (I Want You to Live, Drinkin Thinkin), Terri Clark (Northern Girl, She Didn't Have Time), Dean Brody (Bounty, Burning Down the House). Love your reactions so far - cheers from Canada!

Blake was married to Miranda Lambert at one time. He is now married to one of pop rocks legend's Gwen Stefani of the band "No Doubt" which kind of shocked people as their genres are total opposites.

The black and white footage in the video is of the great dust bowl of 1930's in which severe droughts caused choking dust storms that destroyed crops and killed livestock. This was during the Great Depression, when the stock market crashed, which crippled our economy for 10 years. Employment was at 25%, 1/3 of all banks failed, people lost their life savings, homeless skyrocketed and international trade collapsed. Yes, I agree I miss Blake's hair too....lol.

You need to check out Hardy. He wrote this song for Blake Shelton, and just premiered a song of his own, featuring Lanie Wilson, called Wait In The Truck. It’s even more powerful than this one. It’s that strong.

I have requested on a couple other videos about checking out HARDY he actually wrote this song but has his own music as well I would start with his newest song...wait in the truck but one beer is also really good. He has actually written a lot of #1 hits and most of the top country singers have at least one song partly written by him and he won song writer of the year this year but also has an amazing voice.

Yeah Blake's all grown up now so the Mullet is long gone, but his talent is still there. This is an awesome song and pays homage to Oklahoma where he grew up, still has a large ranch where he lives a large part of the year. I've been a Blake Shelton fan since he started his career some 30 years ago....he just gets better with age. I'd love to see you react to Keith Urban, he's a great singer, an amazing guitar player and has tons of hits. A couple good ones are "When God Whisphered Your Name" and "You'll Think of Me" or "Tonight I Wanna Cry". I've really been enjoying your reactions as you make your journey into Country Music!
