Wir sind Helden was very popular during the early 2000's. They kinda started a new phase of German singing and a bit more pop sounding rock bands. Their lyrics are also quite creative and unconventional. You really should also check out the best German songs of 2000-2009, the range of different music is crazy.

well... it also sounds different because in this video you dont actually hear the rock/metal part, but the EDM Part of the Band ^^

It's crazy how low Arschloch comes in. Pretty much every German under the age of 60 knows the lyrics. Could be my bubble, but I kinda doubt it. And that Wannsee is in the list, but Westerland isn't, is almost as mind boggling. Best bands in this list: Die Ärzte, Guano Apes and Blind Guardian.

I think a lot of Ärzte and Hosen were missing to be honest. I mean they literally are the two greatest punk bands in germany after all. Maybe Böhse Onkelz, but I think more germans will know DÄ and DTH. But yeah... based of Spotify its a bit silly.... Both, DÄ and DTH werent present on spotify for a looooong time, just a few songs nobody really knew.

Rammstein and scorpions are probably the 2 greatest german rock/metal bands with blind guardian and powerwolf right behind them all 4 of these bands have quite the international success story. Tokio hotel made it big too, but it only lasted a few years and they are mostly forgotten these days. They were the cringy teenage girls dream band during my school days and i absolutely hated them, good times 😂😂

@@arnodobler1096 they still need a few more years before getting into that list, its only been about 4 years that they made big and 2 of these years were everything but normal so its really only been 2 years. That is nothing, the real stress is starting now. I have faith they will make it with no problems, but many would have said the same about tokio hotel. So yeah, if they are still big and running in 4 years they will have earned a spot in that list too.

@@homesteadlegion4419 dont forget the band existed for like 12 or 13 years now. They can handle stress I think. Also, like another comment said, they had a succesful and sold out US tour. They ARE big. Everyone in the scene should know about them by now and tbh i think they are a name worth mentioning besides Rammstein and Scorpions. Probably they are even more known than scorpions to be completely fair.

@@nilscherubin5495 Having an US tour means nothing these days, anyone with enough money can manage that because that's all you need for Murican fame. 😂 And it's hilarious that you think they could be anywhere near the Scorpions or Rammstein in terms of success and international fame. Call me when they are the most famous rock band in Brazil, when they're played at tiny village festivals or when their songs are played to remember the fall of the Berlin Wall - like, you know, the Scorpions. Or when they are the most famous metal band in Russia and even kids sing their songs - like Rammstein. The US will forget them in six months, that's the difference between US fame and international fame. You must be 14 or something lol

Tokio Hotel stardet out singing compleatly in german but once they reached a certain popularity they stardet to make english versions of their songs and soon only wrote in english

The video is missing on so many. If going by that Wir Sind Helden was on the list, it is a shame that similiar artists like Juli havn't been on the list too. For Juli I recommend Geile Zeit, Elektrisches Gefühl and Die Perfekte Welle. Another one who wasn't on the list, was Lafee, it was a band, but more known by their female vocalist. She did release Schlager music at the end I think, but her debut was with rocksongs that had lyrics mostly about things where teenagers can relate to. The band debuted in the 2000s and she later on worked as soloist I belive. Of Lafee I recommend songs like Princesschen, Virus, Wer bin ich, Heul Doch. Another band I can recommend is Jennifer Rockstock, not sure if they still exist tho. The songs I recommend from that band are Du willst mir an die Wäsche, Der Kapitäin, Es tut wieder weh, Feuer. Than another one that was quit popular with teens in the 2000s was Die Killerpilze. I recommend from them Richtig Scheiße (Auf ne schöne Art und weise), Libmichhassmich, Drei, Spring Hoch, Letzte Minute. A bit more pop than rock, but also very good is was Sportfreunde Stiller. I recommend their songs Ich Roque, Applaus Applaus, Ein Kompliment, Hymne auf dich. Also a more Pop than rock band is Revolverheld. I recommend from them their songs Mit dir Chilln, Lass uns gehen, Halt dich an mir fest, Ich lass für dich das Licht an, Freunde bleiben. Unheilig was also a band, that gained a lot popularity in the end of the 2000s and than changed from more rock style to a bit more pop style over time. Some of their songs I recommend are Geboren um zu leben, Zeit zu gehen, Zinnsoldat, So wie du warst. Than of course our sea chanty band Santiano. Songs I recommend from Santiano are Leinen los und volle Fahrt, Santiano, Wellerman, Frei wie der Wind, The fiddler on the deck, Es gibt nur Wasser.

Nice reaction! Guano Apes made some really good songs, , they are sometimes a little bit forgotten. Toten Hosen and Die Ärzte are after Rammstein the logest popular rockbands, both have awesome songs. Böze Onkelz were infamous for right wing rock in the 80s, were they had many racist songs. But i think 1990 or a little bit later they said they have changed their worldview reg racist attitudes, still keeping kind of more casual patriosm. Their lyrics are indeed since the 90s not racist anymore. Music wise they are also good

Guano is forgotten because they didnt stick around for long. They only had 3 major years before breaking up in 2006. Since 2009 they are back together but nobody really noticed that. Sandra Nasic however was on TV in 2014 for "Sing meinen Song".

Und schon wieder einer, der einfach etwas über die Onkelz behauptet, wass er irgendwo aufgeschnappt hat, aber schlichtweg eine Lüge ist! Die Onkelz hatten keinen einzigen rassistischen Song! Du plapperst lediglich den Bullshit nach, der von Medien seit damals verbreitet wurde, es stimmt aber nicht! Es gab einen einzigen Song "Türken Raus" welcher Ironischer Weise sogar noch in deren Punk Zeit als Teenager entstanden ist. Dieser Song ist aufgrund ständiger Probleme mit einer bestimmten Tükischen Gang entstanden und hat keinerlei tatsächlche rassistische Motive. Und genau dieser eine Song, hängt ihnen bis heute nach. Innerhalb 2 Minuten könnte man das Recherchieren, wenn man es nur wollen würde, ohne 30 Jahre alten Pressebullshit nachzuplappern! Selbt Campino von den Hosen hat sich bei den Onkelz entschuldigt und versteht sich jetzt gut mit Stephan Weidner!

Hi🤗, thank you for your take on german Rock(and metal)musik. As far as the band Electric Callboy is concerned, I would recommend you take a longer and closer look at it. Perhaps a mixture of the following titles: we got the moves; hypa hypa (good mood guaranteed) - pump it (wanna go to the gym?) - spaceman (german-english mix and a tribute to John Elton) - parasite (more serious) ❣️💃

Rammstein is more like hardrock tipping toes into metal teretorry even has its own name Neue Deutsche Härte new german hardness im kinda disapointet that the list make put so many metal songs into the top 50 rock songs couse even though i am not a fan of metali think it deserves to be its own gengre and there are so many sub genre of Rock also that filling the lsit with metall is not fair to either of the music directions
