If there was a US Equivalent of Tony it would be Frank Cooper on Guiding Light. He was played by Frank Dicopoulos from 1987-2009 and he's always had problems with Finances, Women and the like but he's a good guy. He also became laughingstock of Springfield when his Fiance Natalia stood him up at The Altar because she was in love with her Roommate Olivia who Frank dated as his Father Buzz.
