I think it's hilarious when Europeans assume that just because we're all granted the inalienable right to protect ourselves with a firearm, that we must all just be brandishing our weapons, twirling them around, recklessly popping off at random targets, and threatening each other with them all day. Most people with a C&C keep it *gasp* concealed (though you don't necessarily have to by law) and they don't go around talking about their firearm and about carrying it. I have carried my entire adult life and I don't think I've EVER seen anyone display their firearm outside of their home or a shooting range. Carrying, obviously, means accepting a lot of responsibility -- such as prioritizing de-escalation, retreating from dangerous situations, and avoiding ever having to USE it in the first place. It kind of just speaks to me about what THOSE people overseas think THEY would do if they were entrusted with the right to a firearm. Kind of like how religious people always say "well if you don't believe in god, what's to stop you from going on a murder spree?"

Can confirm, I’ve lived in North Carolina, Texas, and California. About half the people I knew carried in NC, most the people I knew in TX, and pretty much no one carried in CA. I always felt safer and more comfortable with the Texans and Carolinians, they won’t shoot you, but they wouldn’t hesitate to use it to protect someone. Over here inSoCal, if the regular Joe carried a gun, I could not say I would be confident in his ability to use it. Always felt less safe out here where you see more gangsters with unlicensed firearms than good people with licensed ones.

A fact you just can't back up and just pulled out of your a--. Every shooter is a law abiding citizen until they're not. The nerve to say this with the amount of gun violence in this country. Allowing you to have a gun, whether or not you are law abiding, allows all kinds of people to own them, which means a lot of gun violence and mass shootings. Also, the culture of hate that's festering and breeding on the right pushing mentally deranged people into shooting up groups of people.

The 'slug' is the round. The 'plug' is what goes between the powder and the shell to cause momentum. It would be like loading a cannon -- the powder goes first, followed by something that can 'plug' the cavity and let the later burnt powder build pressure from expansion when lit... Then the ball that is the round (or in this case, slug').

I don’t think a lot of people understand that an ambulance crew are sometimes either not allowed to go to an active scene like that or they can personally refuse to if it’s a threat to THEIR life. I know how that sounds but as far as the rules of EMS goes it states that if the scene is actively unsafe and the medics or EMTs get injured then we can’t help anyone else. In this situation we’d take our ambulance and “stage” a safe distance away. I’m guessing in this situation that’s why the injured officers had to get themselves to the waiting ambulance.

I’m a former Missouri EMT. OUr training and the service I worked for, forbade us from entering an area/scene if we were aware or suspicious of danger on scene, whether fallen power lines, active fire, gunshots, or a person wielding other weaponry or being assaultive. We were called to a scene that was downgraded to a psych non emergency. I drove by to see a man chasing his parents across a yard with a butcher knife. I kept driving, had dispatch notify PD and staged half mile away. We took him to the hospital in cuffs with PD following after PD cleared us to do so. You cannot treat someone if you’re incapacitated. Or dead.

It wasn't a "debunk" video in intent but it did clearly show how the reality of shotgun physics differs substantially from the shotgun physics portrayed in cinema and gaming. It's kind of being used more as a prop device or a way to have a weapon that can be used to add intensity to a scenario yet still be able to justify characters not being super dead afterwards. Which means that either their on set firearm expert is full of S and didnt say hey... ummm no...or they intentionally manipulate the effectiveness as necessary for their story.

@jestapath7373
@jestapath7373 Ай бұрын
It is important to be realistic about the concept of self-defense against the government. The thought of facing off against a well-equipped SWAT team or military force is simply unrealistic. Moreover, one must consider the rationale behind such actions. While there may be legitimate concerns about corrupt individuals within law enforcement, provoking a confrontation with them could result in dire consequences for oneself and loved ones. I support the idea of self-defense within reasonable bounds, but engaging in conflict with a government entity is a questionable course of action without "reasonable" cause and your own team, even then....you better be willing to die and most of all be in the right. What is a defend against the government situation exactly if I may ask?

Some people will point to forceful erasure of life of those deemed as corrupt, but part of the multiplicative forces that the forefathers probably didn't see, were tanks.. Airplanes, Jets, etc.. One of the lines was something about 'A well regulated militia' basically a civilian's army.. but the application of war has grown from 'bayonets, muskets, and swords' to 'Weapons of mass destruction, mass casualty, and mass bombardment' Not things I could imagine the founding fathers foreseeing.

@Jordan23501 bird shot can be very lethal. Hit the lungs or heart, or I guess any other vital organ and you can bleed out. Not to mention if you get hit in the throat you will just be breathing blood and drown. All guns are dangerous and can be lethal. I guess the only exception is nerf guns and water guns with water in them.

with a shotgun, a "slug" is a single large projectile (as opposed to the multiple pellets of a scattering load), either roughly the bore diameter or a subdiameter held with a bore-diameter discarding sabot. in most (all?) shotgun rounds, there are one or more elements separating the powder and shot-load, which keeps the powder down at the base of the shell prior to firing and helps form a good pressure seal in the bore behind the shot load when the shell is fired - and some of these elements are often called "wads" or "plugs" due to their function in the round.
